Analysis of the Joel Schumacher film BATMAN FOREVER starring Val Kilmer, Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones and Nicole Kidman. LEAVE A TIP? - streamelements.com/retromovie... PATREON - / disjunktv
Another interesting moment of duality in the film happens in the Nygmatech Ball, and it's the one moment in the entire movie where we actually see Two-Face's split personality in action (aside of his introduction), instead of just his more usual goofball villain side. Ironically, Two-Face isn't even present in half this scene. The Ball starts with Edward being escorted by Sugar, who obviously represents Two-Face's Harvey Dent side: a patient, calculating attorney. Sugar helps Edward in tricking Bruce into checking out his Box, which accidentally reveals his identity to the two villains. The Riddler's offer is fulfilled, the very reason Harvey chose to listen to him (note that when the Riddler says "Who is... Batman?" he turns to Harvey's side). Then Two-Face's patience wears thin and he arrives at the Ball accompained by Spice, who needs no explanation. He has no real plan, he just wants to steal and kill for the funzies.
