Wooooow excelente vídeo!! Es inspirador, soy geólogo pero no solemos ver vídeos con esta calidad respecto al trabajo de campo!! Saben que aplicación se utilizo para el modelado 3D
Hello, thank you for your comments. The software used for 3D geological reconstruction is MOVE of Petroleum Experts (formerly Midland Valley). Greetings from Spain! Muchas gracias por sus elogiosos comentarios. El software usado en la reconstrucción geológica 3D es MOVE de Petroleum Experts (originalmente Midland Valley). ¡Un saludo desde España!
Hello Sam, we use different programs, for the maps, sections and stratigraphic logs. Maps are made with ArcMap from the ArcGis suite. For the cross-sections we use Move from Petroleum Experts and finally for represent the stratigraphic sections we use Adobe Illustrator
Hello Harmon, the software used in these intervals is Adobe Illustrator. This is a design software which we are using for the final assembly and make-up of the geological map. A complete set of geological swatches allow us to symbolize the lithology of geological units.
Thanks for your reply! I am in the industry of geology engineering and we use (in China) AutoCAD to make geology map for engineering purpose. It's nice to know a new way to make maps by some other methods. For those geological swatches at 6:45, I wonder if you make it your own or they are packaged in some software plug-in so you can just download them from the internet? Or, the version of Illustrator in this video is special designed for Geo industry? By the way, this is a really good video!
Thank for your comments. The swatches we are using are obtained from the USGS: blogs.otago.ac.nz/si-geology/resources/illustrationgraphics-resources/usgs-ai-pack-instructions-and-download-link/ ngmdb.usgs.gov/fgdc_gds/geolsymstd/fgdc-geolsym-patternchart.pdf The version of Illustrator is just a standard CS3 one, there isn’t an adapted version for Geo industry but there is a piece of software called Avenza Map Publisher which links gis software like ArcGis and Illustrator. Regards
Awesome. Would it be possible to use some your footage for an educational video I am making? You'd be fully credited and linked to, of course. Please see my channel for examples of how I use drone footage.
