I am in tears seeing Sikhs Hindus and Muslims all visiting Darbar Sahib, What a golden time had we India respecting each other, I really appreciate providing this beautiful video.
Before 1947, Amritsar had a Muslim population of about 50%. My great grandparents were from Amritsar, they lived in Hall bazaar. They told me that at the time all of the signs on the street, and a common language spoken in the city was Urdu. They came to Pakistan in 1947 because of the relentless riots which turned 50% of Amritsar's Muslim population, to .50% today.
@@muhaminatora2163 My nana jan Muhammed Hussain Khushnood was head postman, Daak-wala Baoo, best friend of Sufi Tabbasum, Nana jan a Poet of Urdu, punjabi, Farsi, his kalam was kept in the museum of Darbar sahib Amritsar, I hope it is still there...! My Dada jan Munshi Abdal Hakeem was an accountant, they lived in Sharifpura..... we had many family members living in Amritsar, Hall bazaar, khazaney de karrey, sharifpurah etc. Large number of Kashmiri muslims lived in Amritsar...!

The Golden Temple signifies the teachings of the Sikh Religion in articture and practice. It has FOUR entrances which signifies that ALL people from the four corners of humanity are equally welcome. The site is constructed below ground level unlike most Hindu Temples. The steps flowing down into the Sikh Golden Temple represents the need to be humble and reject blind ego. Remarkably Guru Arjan who constructed the site chose out of all the spiritual people including himself a Muslim Saint to lay the symbolic foundation stone to the Sikh Shrine. The Guru disregarded religion by name and labels alone and instead saw the light in all people regardless of religion, gender, caste or nation. A part of the complex is the Langar which serves tens of thousands of people as equals everyday. However every Sikh Temple across the globe serves free food as a religious obligation to anyone regardless if race, religion etc. This practise was started by the first Guru - Guru Nanak in rejection of class, faith and caste inequalities before the Golden Temple over 500 years ago and continues worldwide today. Within the Golden Temple is housed the Guru Granth Sahib where the Sikh teachings are contained. The Guru Granth Sahib not only containes works of the Sikh Guru's but uniquely also the divine revelations and spiritual writings of others from different backgrounds and castes. The Guru Granth Sahib opens with the basic concept of the One Universal, supreme Energy called by so many different names across humanity,. Ik oankar - One absolute being (God) Satnam - Eternal truth it's name Karta Purkh - Creator Nirbau - without fear Nirvair - without hate/ enmity Akal Murat - Deathless/timeless image Ajuni - Beyound birth and death Saibang - self existant Gurprasad - known by the Guru's Grace. In the words of the tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Gobind Singh "recognise the human race as ONE"

Now things have changed, Sikhs become fanatics next only to Muslims, now Hindus like us does not feel easy while visit Gurudwara. Eyes of the sewadaars does not let us feel easy. This video was of the time when due to Gurdwara movement fundamenlism creeps in Sikhs, before that there was no difference between Sanatani and Sikhs. The beadabi of Hindu deity statues at Swaran Mandir can not be pardoned.
1. Every community has extremists - currently the worst extremists in India are the Hindutva ones. They should stop killing innocents and let people live their lives. 2. Sevadaars can be impatient with Sikhs as well. I don't think they are impatient just because you are Hindu. 3. There were never idols in the darbar sahib because idol worship is contrary to the teachings of sikhi. 4. Sikhi is not a part of Hinduism / Snatan religion. Attempts by Hindus to co-opt sikhi is Hindutva imperialism and will not be tolerated. It is an attempt to destroy Sikhi plain and simple. Respect our beliefs and we will respect yours.
