The Great Train Robbery has entered British folklore as one of the most extraordinary and notorious crimes of the twentieth century. The first episode in our series remembers the Great Train Robbery through the eyes of the heist’s mastermind, Bruce Reynolds. In his last television interview before his death in 2013, Reynolds, the brains behind the robbery, tells his personal account of what happened on August 7th 1963 and shares his views on whether crime really pays.

I first heard of this crime in 1968 when I was 15 years old. Right or wrong, at the time these guys were my hero's. They did really pull off "the crime of the Century."... Pretty wild stuff for a kid who's biggest crime was 'taking my mother's car out for a joy ride here and there" when she was sleeping! A great video on a legendary piece of British history. Great work on the video! Very enjoyable to watch.

Child or not at the time it’s sad that you still brag about putting the public in danger all for a “joyride”. Nice to put that on RU-vid for all these dumbass kids to think “oh what a fun idea” then someone innocent dies due to your stupidity for putting the thought in their mind. For someone who’s apparently in their 50s you aren’t all that bright. Grow up.

@@MsNoPixel Wrong. i'm 68 years old and have been driving legally farm tractor trailers loaded with hay from New York State to Massachusetts, about 85 miles each way. As far as being smart, yeah, I am. I love it when "know it all's" like you make fools of themselves on social media. Next I'm sure you're going to say you never broke the law, because in one way or form, everybody does. Smarten up.

"...and time was running out" is a phrase repeatedly inserted into so many if these episodes to heighten the suspense.

So I'm at this Alabama 3 /A3 show one day in the Before Times, in Chicago, and they start singing, "Have you seen Bruce Richard Reynolds, he's the man we'd like to find. The Great Train Robbery? He was the MasterMind." I wanted to know more. I mean, it's A3 and they're singing about this guy. They wrote the theme song for the Sopranos, what do they know, right? Also, great show! Wonderful to see this legend in person!

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography maps/reenactments enabling viewers to better understand what/whom the orator was describing. Special thanks to " commando leader " Reynolds. Officer John Woolley sharing personal information/experiences pertaining to the robbery. Separating facts from fiction. What about engineer jack mills??? Glad Judge Davis gave extra years to convicted train 🚆 robbers for the bludgeoning of the train 🚆 engineer.

Gordon Goody ,lived quite a good life off the GTR money after he was released , later he was a succesful businessman as well. my late mother always said the gang endeared themselves to some of the brit public because the money was going to be destroyed, (except for the one who coshed the train driver)

Bruce seems a really decent fellow. My only complaint is-3.5 million in 1963 and he could not make his share last! Pointless giving him money

Wow, they couldn't have found someone else to talk about this heist? This old dude has the most boring, uninteresting tone one could imagine. They should've hired an actor to speak for him. I have up after 8 minutes, sorry. It seems like an interesting story but this delivery is incredibly boring. This guy's monotone speaking is impossible to keep one interested in what he's saying.
