In 1987 affluent Knightsbridge in London was the scene of an armed robbery so spectacular it entered the criminal record books as one of the largest heists of the century. After conducting over 50 robberies in his home town of Italy, career criminal Valerio Viccei moved to London to continue the life of crime that would fund his playboy lifestyle. Before long, Viccei set his sights on the Knightsbridge Safe Deposit Centre, and after befriending the centre manager, plotted an audacious robbery that would net him a massive £40million in cash and valuables. But how long for?

Found this because I knew Stephen Mann, one of the accomplices. I'm curious as to what happened to him. I was 21 at the time and living in London. I worked with his wonderful American wife who invited me to dinner which was about a week after the robbery. Stephen had been at my 21st and I found him to be charming, funny and just a great guy. At the dinner, he brought up the robbery and was saying how clever he thought the Knightsbridge robbers were to get away with it and that they chose that particular site. We all agreed and it was quite a lengthy conversation on the audacity of the robbery. Not long after, I returned to NZ and it was a few months later that I found out that he was part of the robbery. Still stuns me to this day that Stephen was involved. This doco is great for getting more details after all these years.

Honestly like money heist huh hahaahaha same here. never heard of such case @_@ but what's irritating, israel the state or israel the robber? HAHAHAHAHA Got me confused for awhile lolllll.

He wasnt as smart as they say, if he cut his finger but he didnt make sure he left no blood or fingerprints behind! After all, he is the smart one, yet he is the one who got them all caught due to his lack of due diligence!

He died years later in Italy while attempting to rob a van transporting cash.

Reducing the rated for the safe-deposit boxes in Knightsbridge was no way to attract business, likely customers would expect the fees to be very high as they would look right down their noses at anything not expensive.

Try as one might, it is not easy to drum-up any sympathy for those who lost their valuables (much of it ill-gotten most probably ) in this raid.

almost get awaay with murder but, if i were him, turn back time, steal them and take a seat and chill. You have millions so...... that should be more than enough. But no, he just got too greedy. The more greed you have it take is one slip aand boomz..... behind bars you go.
