A bunch of jagoffs watching the 2021 Jeymas Samuel movie - The Harder They Fall. We had a lot of fun with this one, Idris Elba and Jonathan Majors absolutely fucking killed it. If you're into westerns, give this one a shot for sure. We hope you enjoy watching along with us, and please drink responsibly!

This film is blooming marvellous! The dialogue, music, cinematography, actors. Westerns are not even my cup of tea, but I’ve watched this more than once. 23:00 my non melanated cousins, that’s how black skin scars.

All 10 characters were real. This is a fictional tale woven around them. The movie town “Redwood” was renamed after the real town Greenwood-Tulsa, OK; one of Murica’s most prosperous Black Wall Streets. The town was destroyed by an angry mob from an adjacent white town. This informs historical relevance as to the striking juxtaposition between it and “Maysville”… just a fun fact. Nat was a cowboy;, Beckwourth was a mountain man, fur trapper; Buck and Cherokee were gangsters; Cuffe enlisted in the US army disguised as a man and became the first female Buffalo soldier; stagecoach Mary was an all around badass- 6ft tall, 240lbs, toted a rifle and a handgun,, wore men’s clothing, cussed like a sailor, drank like a fish, smoked cigars and had hella knuckle game; Trudy was a pickpocket; Bill P was an innovative rodeo star; Bass Reeves was the baddest - US Marshall, 3000 arrests, 14 kills, and the inspiration for the Lone Ranger…. known for singing softly as he went into battle with his native side kick. .

I'm sorry but enough of the virtue signaling movies. We complain when whites do it. The Rufus Buck gang had nothing to do with Nat Love and the Rufus buck gang consisted of the 3 Indians 1 half Indian and black and 1 black -No women!
@slagwill5599
@slagwill5599 Год назад
@@homehope4842 - they chose specific historical characters and threw them together - stage coach mary, and the other two women never met each other. All the characters were real.

@@homehope4842 Rufus Buck, Cherokee Bill, Nat Love, Trudy Smith, Cufee, James Beckworth, Stageciach Mary, Wiley Escoe, Bill Pickett, Bass Reeves, Monroe and Clyde Grimes were all black characters in the west. A black guy from England decided to write and direct a fictional tale about them. Big deal. There’s more source material where that came from. If blacks don’t produce, write and direct their own history and narratives - then who will?

Nat Love was expecting a big shoot out with Rufus too. That's the genius was of the director with the twist of them being brothers. We all were expected a huge gun and fight scene. Its great when you think you know the ending then its not what you expected.

Must say, it was refreshing to see how you guys reacted to the movie. The end with Rufus and Nat completely threw me off (in a good way) as I never expected such in a cowboy movie.

The best fight scene ever with the two ladies. Entire movie was a masterpiece and had so much meaning behind it. You guys forget your views of the wild west is Hollywood white washed. The real wild west was full of run away slaves and natives... Buck and Nat were made to be brothers. That story line is incredibly real. It is definitely a western.

Fun fact, when Jim says, like they say in the book of clarence, no man shall outspeed me. Its a reference to the upcoming movie by the same name staring both r.j cyler and Lakeith stanfield.

Gentlemen did you guys notice the names of all of the buildings were named after past & present historic African American leaders. The train was named C. W. Bosman aka Black Panther.

@DL Paulin - Yeah we did! Those reactions may have not made the final cut. Jake called out Boseman on the side of the train immediately, pretty awesome stuff.

Good review fellas. Absolutely loved the movie. Honorable Mentions: Deon Cole and Daman Wayans Jr. killed their short roles. Never knew they had that kinda range. Almost unrecognizable, especially Deon Cole. Best Side Character: Absolutely loved Delroy Lindos role as the salty dog Bass. “I seen the devil and He aint him!” “Is that his right arm?” Side Note: Johnathan Majors role as Kang in Loki definitely threw me off at first too but remember that version of Kang was the nicest and weirdest version. He said his other multiverse versions were much darker and menacing. So the next time we see him in the marvel universe he’ll probably drop the quirky stuff and be evil as hell.

Yeah Deon Cole was most definitely a revelation. He's seems to be a natural.

"Westerns don't end like that...." I like that the ending had more depth because most people I would consider violent in the community I grew up in had a reason for the murder. They didn't murder or take for just the sake of it. Traditional westerns were created from only one perspective. I like that there were things that challenged the traditional because it is from a perspective we never saw before.

Finally finished conversation and it was awesome! Yeah I was completely immersed and I loved it too that it was a story that featured black people but not necessarily about race especially for that time period. Music was awesome I agree and yeah it was fun learning more about the historical people. The actress that portrait cuffee was bad ass!

I loved your honest and in-depth review of the movie, new subscriber here. Btw western movies don’t have to be the all like old Hollywood western this is fictional movie loosely based on real people that lived during those times. Different is not bad thing. This is human story and a broken family tragic story. I personally thought it’s was good.

It was such a pleasure to watch this reaction. I really enjoyed hearing your opinions and seeing your reactions to great scenes. The writer/director is originally a musician (also brother of singer Seal) and he also wrote all of the music for this movie too. The music had a very reggae vibe which blew my mind! I never pictured reggae and westerns mixing well together and I loved that. The director hopes to do spin off movies about the individual characters so he can go more in depth on their back stories. Fingers crossed that will happen 🤞🏾

Mary pissed me off multiple times. First she had the dumb idea to go to Redwood with that silly plan that we all knew wouldn’t work. Then she had all that big talk to go get Trudy and then doesn’t kill her. Ugghhhh 😡

I wish nat would have turned around walked away and buck would draw his gun at his back and instead of killing his brother like he could have in the beginning and right now but instead takes his own life that would have been a more twist of an ending

Rufus Buck could have been a good man and had a dream of a free city for blacks in a racist country, but he was the product of a horrible father (who later became a good father but to another child).

remove this video how are you supposed to react to the video if the entire movie is blurred who is the genius who came up with that idea
@PGHReactYinz
@PGHReactYinz Год назад
@stewie 242 - I've explained this on several videos before, but in the past, the only way that we could get videos to pass RU-vid's copyright algorithms was by blurring the final video feed after editing was finished. It wasn't ideal at all, but it was all we had at the time. We've since found an alternate solution where we don't have to blur anything at all (finally!), and all of our newer videos since March 2022 have been crystal clear.
