I will say everything old is new again and as the song says "it's all a little bit of history repeating" I believe there will be a time when grunge comes back. And it may not be as good as ECW, but I think something like it may return one day
I went away to college at SUNY Albany in fall 95. A month or 2 later I saw it late night in buddy’s dorm. Sandman was “training” climbing a ladder and slamming tall boys.😂😂
I first saw ecw here in New York channel 31 sat 11 pm, my little brother put me on to it, I became hooked when jerry lawler came on and rvd and sabu was hanging wwf signs over wrestlers bodies I was like yeah this is extreme the alternative, Justin incredible triple threat and so many others
Megadeth, Motley Crue, KISS, Kid Rock. Live music never really got over in WCW or WWF. But, could you imagine Pantera or White Zombie in the ECW Arena?
No one is saying ECW was bad but I often think the legend of ECW sometimes is more than it was it was a solid territory unfortunately it became too big to be small and it was too small to be big
@@DaveKnowsWrestling what I mean is ECW in the northeast was a big deal but it was really just a regional promotion that had fantastic booking that took inspiration from Florida and Memphis and FMW but a lot of people (not you Dave) have made it out to be bigger than it was
Dan Evertt I hear what he's saying. It had the budget of and it was run like a regional promotion. If it was the territory days they would have done great and been allowed to grow at their own pace. It was a weird adjustment period back then
Dan Everett allow me to clarify. I disagree with Ryan when he said "it was more than it was" But I agree that "it got too big to be small..." My second statement was adding to that, as I think if it was in the territory system of old, it could have grown at its own pace. But because it was the new era, it was stuck with having to go national before it was ready to. It grew faster than it was prepared for in my opinion
William Oscar garvin: This is why ECW is extreme championship wrestling And ECW is part of that it's a brand that is that extreme championship wrestling.
@@DaveKnowsWrestling Which is sad, because the had lot of good shows and matches. That best of 3 series between Cactus Jack and Eddie Gilbert is still one of my alltime favorites.
hardcore olmost started in Puerto Rico in capitol sports promotion in the 80's wwc matches like barbwire fire scaffolding and counts counts anywere here came wrestlers like the funk fam. hart fam the sheapers and many thers =)
dave you should make a video on the uwa the promotion that challenged cmll beat them for a while and closed their doors in the mits of the peso crisis and the rise of AAA they popularized 2 out 3 falls matches in mexico and was the home of many lucha libre legends like perro aguayo el canek fishman and hosted the final match of el santo
I like the video but Dave a minor mistake Dennis was the nwa president it was Howard Brody Dennis had a say so in who to pick as champion but also Dennis want Chris Benoit to be champion cause he though he was better look for Nwa but Paul Heyman want Shane Douglas
