Hanna-Barbera what a phenomenal animators producers and vocalists too. Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera were just the cartoon kings of Saturday mornings. For me I go for the Globetrotters, Hong Kong Phooey and the Banana Splits. Both Hanna-Barbera shows in 1970-72, 1974-76 and 1968-70. RIP Bill and Joe

I truly have a great appreciation for the time you put into making this series! Extremely detailed & super informative!! Thank You 🙏🏽 As a child I noticed that both Companies HB RS seemed to be connected to each other. & indeed they were through the same distributors & often other animators, musical directors & etc would do work for both companies.

In the opening credits of Jonny Quest, there is a shot of two men (one a redhead wearing blue, the other black haired in white) flying a hover saucer into the Dragonfly. Originally, Jonny Quest was meant to be an animated version of popular radio serial character Jack Armstrong, All American Boy. Jonny was created when they had issues with the licensing. That shot is a leftover from the original test footage, which is why the two men don't match any of the characters on the show.

Thundarr the Barbarian from Ruby and Spears is my all time favorite 1980-81, only two seasons but its was awesome. "Demon dogs" and "Lords of Light" the 70's and early 80's rocked for cartoons from R/S and HB

Buzz Dixon mentioned in an interview that there’s was a script for a new Thundarr series in the 80’s but there was a clash with Hanna Barbera being involved in it. It would be interesting if Warner Bros created a new series of some sort that featured Thundarr. I highly recommend watching the lords of light feature. It was a great interview with the late animators Ruby & Spears.

Hi there! I got your comment on one of my videos, but it's not showing up publicly for some reason. I'm glad you like my commercial break uploads! That's pretty much the whole point of my channel, to preserve TV history for future generations to observe and enjoy. And I have to say, from what I've seen so far, you're videos are pretty good, too! Keep it up!

thank you for answering back. I appreciate it so much. first of, you havd commercial breaks from WPIX 11. that was incredible to me. it's stuff like that make me want to do what i do and i know it's the same with you as well. and you are right. it's up to people like us to preserve animation history and keep nostalgia alive. it's being forgotten over time. your sentiments and mine are the same. i'm definitely staying in to curate more of the experience

@@thecartooncurator one thing I really HATED about them is that none of their shows ever had a proper series finale where the main dilemma of the protganists gets resolved , for example - Dino Boy still stuck in the valley - tourists still trapped in the dinosaur plateau - the 2 teens still stuck in arabian magic land with Shazzan - Penelope Pitstop still on the run from the Hooded Claw etc etc etc , the only one which came closer was Space Ghost when the villains were suposedly blown up and Sky Commanders came close to a proper finale , and you can argue The Flintstones got closure with those early 90s animated movies another issue with them is the cut corners maybe a bit too much , they recycled music cues and sounds so much it got really annoying, for example same gun shots used in nearly every of their output or the limited animation with the looping backgrounds

Loved the MGM Tom and Jerry cartoons, and both The Flintstones and The Jetsons had their moments, but never card for all the rest of their output (Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, etc.). Just not my cup of tea.

who doesn't love the amazing Tom and Jerry? they are so timeless. even though the cartoons are vintage, they are like wine. they have gotten better as they aged. you are one of the few i have encountered that never fully loved Hanna Barbera. even so, one thing you have to admit: their dedication to making TV animation was unlike any other studio ever and since.

Gulliver’s Travels never really combined live action with animation. However the Fleischers would rotoscope Gulliver similar to how they would rotoscope Superman for the Superman cartoons.

Sccoby Doo DID NOT make Hanna-Barbera a "household name." Their first biggest Star character was Yogi Bear, followed by the even bigger, Fred Flintstone. You see, there was a history well before 1970. You need to differentiate between your impressions and opinions and document facts. While your interest is to be commended, the challenge is that you are attempting to do a tribute about something that happened before you were born. I saw everything about Hanna-Barbera from their very beginnings, and followed their development every year, seeing improvements. It was an exciting period. Fortunately for me, my exposure was when there was really good writing. That is the big difference between the early years and the era when you came along.
@thecartooncurator
@thecartooncurator Год назад
first of, i am so glad that you watched the content. second, Hanna Barbera hadn't become successful of a studio until Scooby Doo had premiered. I already explained that were histroy before 1969, which is when Scooby Doo, Where Are You? premiered on CBS but it is known fact that Scooby Doo made Hanna Barbera a household name for many reasons. Before Scooby Doo, Hanna Barbera hadn't a successful cartoon outside of the syndication ones they had. Even though The Fintstones was a success on primetime, it hadn't reached the height of household success until it ran as a Saturday morning rerun and in syndication. It was Scooby Doo that made them a household name. It kicked off their tenure on Saturday mornings in the 70s. This is why it had many iterations on the Big Three and it is still going to this day. It's Scooby-Doo who is the mascot of Hanna Barbera....well not anymore since Hanna Barbera doesn't really exist. Lastly, I really watch EVERYTHING I talk on and throughly research EVERYTHING. I take pride in my content and stand by it. Those cartoons you said I didn't watch, I did because they were all in syndication around the 1980s. Once again, thank you for watching
