Ah, Monsier Le Pew. One of my favorites. I wish he had gotten Penelope to reciprocate his affections without getting paint spilled on him, or a love potion. A Casanova such as he deserves his true love. Any chance Speedy Gonzales is up soon? I love that little mouse!

I have decided that my favorite Pepe Le Pew project is Scent-Imental Over You. At the end of this project, Pepe Le Pew sets the female up with someone she would actually love (or at least himself in disguise as someone to actually love). Even if it's just an act, at least he made a female happy. This is also the reason why I like Two Scent's Worth and Really Scent. Both of these projects have Pepe SAVE THE FEMALE FROM DANGER. I like these three animation projects because they make Pepe the good guy. This is touching and lets me root for Pepe. A few more Pepe Le Pew projects I like a little bit are For Scent-Imental Reasons, The Cat's Bah, Scent-Imental Romeo and Touche and Go.

This is something what the DC Comic book hero Starfire never said to Pepe le Pew; "why what's a skunk like you doing here, in the first place?"

I will never tire of the current Animation Lookback ending especially with that face you make.

Pepe is some kind of in joke which is thrown in the audience's face. La Mouffette elle est dans Etats Unis (The Skunk is in USA) where a badger evolved a horrendous ranged attack. "Middle America" was bought from France in the Louisiana Purchase for $15 million. Liberty Statue is a French creation or gift. In some scenes, Pepe appears to be living in India or the Middle East. Like Raccoons, skunks adapt to urban or human settings. But the most noticeable animal characteristic is that Pepe is "large" in charge and relentless in his pursuit of love. It is this overpowering drive which matches his metaphorical odor. Only the cat eventually loves him.

It's probably safe to say that I easily felt like Penelope Pussycat as a teenager because of how lucky I was to take learning about the dangers of teen pregnancy during a romantic relationships unit in my 8th grade home economics class into consideration.

They called her Penelope in an episode were they were on a cruise ship, she was on a leash and her owner called her Penelope.

It's a real shame Pepe got canceled, it was not deserved in the slightest. As far as Penelope goes, she has pretty much disappeared since Pepe was canceled. She may have appeared on A New Legacy poster you can buy at stores, but even then it was clear without Pepe there was nothing they could do with her. It's a pretty sad story all around. What started off as a great character with a clever formula became a character depicted as something horribly false. With Pepe gone, Penelope served practically no purpose and disappeared not long after. I hope they can return in the next few years or so, but the chances seem pretty slim currently.

The only girl he actually ended up with was a chihuahua.

The only word I had to look up was the word for "skunk". P.S. It would be "Disnéy" in French, unless you are using Quebec French which uses a lot more cognates/literally translated English words than Parisian French.

I Liked Almost Everything, Except For The Part In 5:06

Pepe is my second favorite Looney Tunes character behind Bugs. There's just something I love about him... perhaps its my French blood and love for romance :P I adore that the dynamic of Pepe and Penelope were parodied in Archie Sonic as characters Geoffrey St. John the Skunk and Hershey the Cat :3

Not mentioned here is Pepe’s distant cousin Pitu Le Pew. He appears in Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries and is even more amusing because he mistakenly hits on Sylvester! Pitu is not too bad a catch though. His thick fringe of hair gives him an air of mystery and he is built like a lumberjack!

Another trivia about Pepe that's often missed is that he has an iconic flamboyant hop, which he used to chase his target and also conserve stamina, when his targets are usually running in panic, they drain more of their own stamina, until they eventually collapse. More often than not, it's accompanied by a specific sound effect in each hop that more or less became synonymous with Pepe himself. Fifi can be seen using this hop occasionally. Y'know, just to show that she's Pepe's student. Also, if you watch Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, you will encounter a relative of Pepe Le Pew, Pitu Le Pew (who said that Pepe is his 4th cousin). He's a bit more muscular on the chest side and is instead voiced by Jeff Bennett (you may know him as another muscular womanizer with less success, Johnny Bravo), but as he stated himself: It runs in the family. So he's just as lovestruck and persistent as Pepe, utilizes the flamboyant hop (even when driving a car).... towards Sylvester. It's just for 1 episode, though, he's not a recurring character.

This series has made me buy the Looney Tunes Platinum Collection Vol 1 on Blu-ray to relive some of these cartoons and to learn more about the Looney Tunes.

As much as I want them to bring Pepe back, I feel like the same chances of him returning would probably be the same chances of them making a Space Jam 3. I mean, they said that a third one was in development, and it's not confirmed if it's still in production or if it got canceled. Anyway, what Pepe and this third Space Jam movie have in common is that we don't know if they will ever see the light of day.

I know this is irrelevant but do you think you can review a short-lived cartoon in the 90s called Capitol Critters? I've yet to see anybody do a review of that show on RU-vid.

Fantastic intro AniMat! I never thought I may like the french language, now I get why people say in a different language makes ti sound romantic. Ooo la la. We we. Anyway I got say that Pepe is not the best Looney Tunes character, but he is somewhat my favorite. But sometimes I think Pepe is like the Muppet character, except he speaks Spanish.
