Today, I talked about the history of Power Rangers in Japan! Ever since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers premiered, the series would sometimes be dubbed for a Japanese audience and be aired alongside Super Sentai! Fan favorite series like Power Rangers In Space and Power Rangers SPD could be viewed in Japan! They were aired on TV, and even had DVD boxsets. Sometimes, the Power Rangers japanese dub would be more popular then the orignal airing of the Sentai counterpart, they would even have Sentai actors return to play as their American counterpart! Hummm Yes and no.... The two first seasons where added under the Label Super Sentai much later. At first they were considered as not part of sentai

Zyuranger is the one that began Power Rangers in America, so for a theatrical remake, the PR costumes would have look like the Zyurangers.

I love mighty morphin power rangers, but the ending was so grim and unexpected that I kind of wanted to give up on power rangers until they came out with Zeo, then turbo and then finally, in space.

Seeing as Lightspeed Rescue got the dub treatment in Japan. It always made me wonder what Sentai fans over there thought of the Titanium Ranger seeing as GoGoFive didn't have a "GoSilver" or any kind of 6th ranger in that season

In the Japanese dub of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, voice actors are almost the same as their counterparts, unlike SPD. The actor who portrayed Hyuuga is the one dubbing Leo Corbett, Ryouma as Kai Chen, the voice actress for Maya is the Yellow Megaranger, and Mike Corbett's voice dub actor is the actor who portrayed Saizou (Ninja Blue) from Kakuranger.

I think it's cool that Power Rangers is probably the most respected western adaptation of a JP product that I've seen in the fandoms. It's such a respectful relationship.

I remember Yūji Kishi who played Red Racer in Carranger, he did an interview with Tokusatsu Network he did dub T.J's voice for the Japanese dub for Power Rangers Turbo.

That is just one person's review. Most Toku Otaku friends i know there understood that "Its Morphin Time" was a Power Rangers thing first. As similar to here in America. Seasons without an offical dub or sub release have fansubs in Japan. They even see it as our version of a Kamen Rider saying "Henshin".

It must be weird. I mean, the footage is produced for Super Sentai, adapted into Power Rangers, and then dubbed back into Japanese. So the fight scenes are good for three different shows...

Power Rangers Megaforce & Super Megaforce didn't get dubbed, but did get a subtitled release on Toei's Toei Channel service starting in late 2016.

Man do I remember getting up to watch jungle furry then rpm in the morning on abc kids, that was the end of Saturday morning blocks for me, even though Saban bought back power rangers then later bought 4kids tv block times lot , it still wasn't enough Rip Cw Vortexx

I honestly didn’t even know they dubbed all 3 season of MMPR through Turbo. I just recently heard the Psycho Ranger arc of Space in Japanese (idk if it’s on the dvd set or not) and haven’t heard Lost Galaxy or Lightspeed Rescue until recent

I don’t think Zeo was dubbed in Japan. The Japanese wiki said it was only the first few episodes released on tape with Japanese subs.

4:05 Scorpina's original name is Lami/Rami (however you say, actually Japanese people have difficulties in pronouncing L so they replace it with R) in Zyuranger. 5:01 It's Ryuji Sanei 😂😂

Before this video, I watched a Japanese dub of Power Rangers SPD first episode morphing sequence. The original actors for Senchan, Umeko, and the blue ranger, I can’t remember his name, did a really good job in portraying sky, bridge, and Syd.

No cause that would be illegal. As even if its a forien dub. A sub group would probably get shut down if they did Power Rangers.

2:35 How many episodes Lost Galaxy VHS casettes included? In Finland, the first episodes of MMPR from "Day of Dumpster" to "Green with evil" were released on seven videos, each of them included 2-3 episodes.

Fun fact. going by Japanese social Media and message broads. Samurai was really popular and a huge number of fans even preferred it over Shinkenger. So in America Samurai isnt popular compared to Shinkenger, and in Japan Samurai is considered more popular then Shinkenger. With even members of Shinkenger's cast mentioning that they were watching Samurai. Grass is greener folks

Este just fucking enlightened me on why every fucking time I looked on the guide to record rpm I could not find it because it aired at 5 am wtf I ligit had to watch it a day after it aired and was put on RU-vid in the time where every season was on RU-vid then was ripped down and we aint seen a full ep of power rangers on here since

Uh, Mega force was dubbed in Japanese, Also they plan to dub Dino charge latter this year followed by Ninja Steel. Toei's US twitter is a good place for info.

Comment your favorite season and why I'm always in between in space and ninja storm in space because of how more mature it was it was like the show was growing up with us and it was so different with andros and korone plus it got away from the old we create monster we send it down it dies next episode so much was happening and they where searching for zordon and ninja storm for every reason that season was off the chain

Why do they dub them? I mean a lot of people in Japan know how to speak English. English is a very common second language in Japan and other places in the world for business reasons. So why dub them if they already understand English?

Because English is not their official language? In Europe most shows, movies, videogames,.... are dubbed and translated. In France to French, In Germany to German, In Italy to Italian and so on. Its absolutely normal to do this from an international standpoint
