The Honda CRX Del Sol is the Weirdest Honda EVER 

Could understand not being into Del Sols, or perhaps even Hondas, but can't understand hating them. Such a fun/unique little car... An engine swap or turbo makes a world of difference.

I owned a del Sol. Will always have a soft spot for the Sol. This having the transtop is legit!

It’s unique and that’s why I love it. Still all the fun and handling of an EG with a different look to it. And it has so many cool little features that passed over to the S2000.

I desperately want the Del Sol to stay low key. Look how little the pickings are for 92-00 Civics and they made 2.6m of them. There was only 75k Del Sols in the US. I love the platform and currently own a built d16 turbo 93’ Si and it’s my favorite car ever ha the targa top gets so much attention.

Growing up, I remember my uncle having a red Honda Del Sol Si, calling it the “Del Slow” lmao loved it

I remember seeing the Del Sol for the first time in 1993 and when I saw the RPM needle go almost to 9000 I knew at that moment it was a awesome car. Fast forward 28 years and 317,758 miles later and that same Samba Green Del Sol is in my driveway and she is my daily driver. I wouldn’t get rid of this car for anything.

I love my 95 vtec delsol, driving it with the top off, windows down, feels like your driving a convertible...

I had a gsr swapped del Sol for about 3 years,I loved that car. Only negative was the targa leak but they all leak tbh

I have the Red 1993 DelSol SI 5 speed 109k Miles. I’m 24 and I’d like to say I know a moderate amount about cars but to my realization I do not. I got lucky and found a Del Sol in Kansas. A car I’ve never even heard of let alone ever thought I’d own a 2 door car at 24. It’s old and odd to most people but I love it. I can tell a story every time I meet someone! With how rare these cars are getting and how timeless the design is regardless of engine spec and body. I’m so glad I kept looking for my first car to learn to shift gears manually. This car wasn’t that hard to learn on. Only took me 3 days of just driving around and stalling. I did however stall the car out so bad my 2 gear wasn’t catching so I think I actually might have a later issue down the road but it’s been 4 months since I bought it and I’ve pushed it to its limit a couple times just to see what it really feels like opened up. I’ll delete my fogs and get the dolphins bumper, eventually swap it for a k20, and turbo. I have peeling and fading paint so in spring I’ll do the repaint. I just put own Godspeed coilovers and ordered JNC wheels that are on back order :(. Right now I’m doing maintenance and small details interior wise. Beware, lots of bolts are going to be pretty rusted solid, save yourself the headache. Thanks for doing this video though kinda short!

I miss my 96 Del Sol SIR Transtop. But I did have a blast with it, even ran it on Pass Time. Eventually Turbo'd the stock motor. I'm currently on Del Sol #8

I own a 97 del sol s. It was my dad's car and then I bought it from him and it is my first car. I love it. I got a cheap set of eBay coil overs and it handles much better. Now I need grippy tires to go faster in the corners

I absolutely loved my 95 Del Sol sadly I flipped it end over end 6 times and landed upside down in a ditch. Surprisingly enough not a single window blew out or even broke for that matter. It's safe to say they're a lot stronger landing upside down than you'd think.

Yep I did that VTech programming on my 98 Accord 2 door V6 about 15 years ago and it woke that car up so much I went to a JDM show and met a tuner that was just starting to mess with that stuff and he completely turned my car off of the factory ECU

I have a pretty clean '89 CR-X Si. It sat for 5 years. We found it, bought it, changed the sensor that tells the car the clutch is engaged and it cranked right up. Once we get it painted I'm happy to let you review it if you're interested, I'm in the charlotte area as well.

Got a turbo B18 Del Sol last year and I absolutely loved it. It motivated me to build my current turbo LSV EK coupe, but no longer have the Sol.

Love these cars, there's a very custom red one that's been at car shows in Oklahoma at least 20 years although I haven't seen it in maybe 5.

I’ve got the vxi, very similar spec to this del sol but with the slower d15b Jdm engine. It’s a brilliant car but the values have gone crazy in the U.K. so I’m planning to sell it. Everyone complains about the transtop but as an electric roof system it’s very simple and many oem parts are still available new from Japan.

93 Sol owner here b16a with trans top black color , bone stock , owned it for 12 years , i bought it cause i didn’t want to put miles on my S2k. the S2k was sold after 13 years of ownership and the del sol still here i’m not say its better its just that i sold it cause i’m upgrading to an NSX and i need the cash , the del sol managed to fill the gap ever since i sold the S2K , its a fun car give it a shot and yes a lot of stuff got carried from it to the s2k.

My friend had one of these Del Sol's in high school, it was a great little car. Dude even let me borrow it on occasion. I have memoires of stuffing friends behind the front seats (4 people in a 2 seater) and worrying about cops pulling us over. Man were those good times. This video makes me wanna buy a cheap Del Sol and fix it up for my own use, but good luck finding a good one in the midwest.

I owned a Sol also.. I loved it, it's what started me into modding cars as it was my first car!

My first car was a 94 del sol and it had so much rust damage, one of the doors didn't match the rest of the car, the top leaked, speakers blown, had the loudest most obnoxious ebay exhaust on it, and it had 329,000 miles on it when i bought it. I paid 800 dollars for that car and i wanna buy another one so bad bc i loved that car and was 16 with no money to do any of the stuff i wanted to with it.

I think the Del sol is soo cool. I really wanna weald a roll cage into one to correct the chassis flex and do a built single cam screamer for the motor.

The Del Sol is so underrated, it is an interesting take on the Civic and a true spiritual successor to the CRX, unlike the CRZ, glad people start getting interested in these, they've been slept on, quirky but fun tuner car, wish Honda revive the name at some point as well as the CRX too, so yeah

Due if you've never driven a crx with a b series swap. U r missing out. My first prohect car was a 88 crx. We got a B16A1 from Japan, Hasport made the motor mounts and answers what questions i had. This was back in 06. It literally was lik a crazy fast gocart

Maybe it was just named wrong??? The Sun always sounded goofy to me. But you should track down the white one with the Ek9 front end conversion from the 1st fast and furious…that was always the one I remember till this day as being the cleanest one Ive seen

If I could have any honda, it would be a factory b16 CRX, 4 wheel disc and zero driver aids. Awesome platform. A lot of engineering is unappreciated, for example under hard braking the rear suspension geometry becomes more toed in to promote stability thanks to trailing arm bushing compliance That roof looks inspired by the Japanese camper vans, where there is a tent in the roof operated by pneumatic struts. Worth experiencing if you get the chance

In Australia this car was the continuation of the CRX badge and wasn't called a del sol at all.

I own a b16a2 del sol and its really a pleasure to ride!! One of the most underated hondas from 90's that are now starting to hype! And a well deserved hype since it is a great targa top car!

My first car was a 94 del Sol and man I feel stupid everyday for selling it. Yah the chassis flex is really annoying (rear window got jammed but never shattered) and the top always leaked on me but the quirky nature and uniqueness of the car is something I wish they would do again.

Okay, so one key point you both missed, the reason the del Sol has the b16a is because it was the successor to the crx. As titled in your video, crx del Sol. The crx, as you mentioned, was offered with a b16a in cpthe SiR trim model
