Then again, it is hard to look for people who are legally not even there, have no officially known home or work addressess, probably no known phone numbers, no known local family, etc. I'm not saying the police did everything great, but think about how you would look for someone if they were lost. Go to their home to check on them. Go to their workplace and check if they came in or not. Look for their families and friends. Any other place, like school or gyms/official clubs they regularly attended. Illegal residents are much harder to find. Like here people could find me in a million ways, I have a car insurance, a job, I regularly take my dog to her vet, etc. I'm easy to follow, because the things I do are regularly documented in a way police could search back and look up. What? There may be a nearly ubiquitous amount of ways that people's actions can be retrospectively found out with certainty, but ever notice that none of these things actually tend to lead to them being caught in like 80%-90% of cases? Plus, these are all biased obviously by covering cases where someone was caught. There are more, proportionally speaking, of cases that are not ever solved, nor the person responsible caught. I mean even assuming for a moment that all the people convicted of a homicide are in fact the actual person who did it [which we know with complete certainty is not true, but let's assume it is,] that still means there is a roughly 50/50 chance of getting away with it. Which only increases [by exactly how much I wouldn't be able to speculate on,] once you narrow it down solely to those who commit them with the intention of getting away with it... i.e. excluding all the people who turn themselves in for it in whatever particular way, people who dispose of bodies instead of keeping them around in the place they are staying in, etc... And of course all that has a caveat of restricting what is included in "homicide" numbers because in any given there ranges between [at least officially,] around 1/4 of these intentional taking of life to many multiples of this type of intentional taking of life by things that people do not criticize [unless the people involved are not liked by the particular person in question,] that are deemed "conflicts" by governments themselves against external people. They are also "homicides," but they are the type people tend to support... or at least large majorities of people do.

He really was narcissistic. With all he had, he still was not happy and I believe he took his unhappiness with his life out on those two innocent ladies who did not deserve to die like that, but at least there family and friends got to lay them to rest. May their souls rest in eternal peace 🙏 I really enjoy how you take us all around the world with so many cases that I would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn about, thanks for the amazing job you do by giving the voiceless a voice, keep up the awesome work.

@@torachan23 right, sadly. I’m very glad the cops took it seriously as well, there are too many cases in the US and Canada of cops not caring to look into a missing persons report because the victim was a known sex worker. It makes me so mad.

@@roxymcdonald6518 Sorry, I wasn't clear. What I meant was that while some sex workers in poor areas like Hong Kong might choose that line of work in order to support their families, that's not necessarily the case across the board. There is no need to turn to that kind of work here in the US, for example. While some are forced into it, many are not, and do not get into it for such honorable reasons.

you are by far the most intelligent and best true crime content creator I have come across. I can’t express to you enough how refreshing it is to find someone who tells these stories with nuance and provides a logical materialist context. the last video of yours I watched, you took the time to speak on systemic failures regarding mental health, and this time you respectfully spoke on the issues of class. you’re the first I’ve come across that doesn’t mispronounce every other word or make the most idiotic surface level “observations”/come up with “theories” that genuinely sound like something a child would say (looking at you, Stephanie Harlow and your Ralph Wiggum sidekick lol). anyway, thank you

"diminished responsibility" indeed. He's a narcissist, the unfortunate product of coddling and not preparing your child for adulthood. The callousness of being able to both torture another human being, that you acknowledge was a good person, and yet have no sense of guilt or responsibility. What a disgusting human.

This is truly horrific and my heart goes out to the young girls and their families. In the mid 1990's while at university in Leeds, west Yorkshire, my friends and I were approached by a young lady who offered us work in Hong Kong. Basically, we were expected to talk to men in clubs and have a drink with them.... I'm so relieved we weren't taken in by the promise of money and a so called summer of a lifetime!

I truly appreciated how you perfectly captured the complexities of the societal structure in Hong Kong and the life of immigrants from all walks of life. This is evident by how you were able to describe the physical demands and work demands of the lives of domestic workers. Contrast to the typical residential & commercial cleaners, domestic workers in HK are treated as a subpar workforce with hardly any work rights and protection hence the extensive hours and even sometimes- quarters within the homes of their employers in tiny closets with nil holidays nor personal days afforded. Thank you for representing these women Adrian, you have given their lives a voice beyond statistics and discrimination.

Hi Adrian, Thank you for your videos. Your consideration and respect for the victims is unparalleled. Would you consider covering the Stacey Mitchell murder? It really struck me when I read about it and it hasn't really been covered. Today's case hit me hard because of the sad reality of how hard migrant workers work to support their families and the marginalised conditions they have to put up with.

I absolutely understand the victims decisions to work as a sex worker.. I've been in hongkong 10 years ago. And my employers address was also in wanchai and transferred to Tai hang just before I arrived. Working as a domestic helper is really a sacrifice but working with employers that has no respect towards their workers is too much to handle. You'll go crazy in no time.. 😥 Sending my prayers to the family and for these 2 victims.. Fly high. You'll never be forgotten. 💖💖💖
