I honest wouldn't doubt it. At the absolute bare minimum, prior to Jenny's murder, he was a serial abuser. And it takes a certain kind of person to put a body in a freezer and pretty much forget about it until they have another.
Who cares. The ones he killed were stupid enough to trust an obvious red flag. Let them rot; let the dead bury the dead. Life is for the living anyway.
Honestly, they should be ashamed they released something that bad. She was a Jane Doe who deserved to be identified. They could have at least put some effort into making it look like a person.
Ive listened to a youtube channel called Lazy Masquerade. According to him, the reconstruction would often be that way in order to draw attention. If it had been a person whose facial features resembles many, it will be hard to be stamped on everyones mind who they were looking into. Besides they dont really know the face for it had been already decayed so thinking of the prominent feature and accentuating it more will be helpful.
@@THEDubbleHelixx Except it's very intentionally made like that as normal pictures very often do not work as they make the person look too generic. This image actually led to her being identified.
it's nice to hear about an ex husband who was willing to move mountains to find the mother of his children, even if they didn't love each other anymore.
I hated the mother of my son with passion honestly. It was difficult for me to even look at her when we switched by the weekend. Im ashamed to say it but i did, for a long time
There are many incels that join the police cause they think its manly and they missuse it by stalking women and using the advantage of being able to know everything about ppl without being investigated
Psychopaths are usually drawn to professions where they can exert power and control so unfortunately, there is a high number of psychopaths in any form of force.
Thank You SO MUCH for being one of the few true crimers on RU-vid that treat these sensitive subjects with the sensitivity it deserves! Sending you lots of love from Sweden!!!
From my understanding there are plenty of pictures similar to the forensic facial reconstruction of Jenny. Particularly when the bodies are in an advanced state of decay and there are no leads in identification, facial reconstruction is done focusing on the facial characteristics that stand out the most. It is important to note that the uncanny tone is done in purpose, since an abstract image of an exagerated visual characteristic from the corpse is more likely to trigger a memory from a potential witness. Even with such a unique reconstructed image, Jenny was succesfully identified by her relatives after seeing it being distributed by the media and approaching the police. You can make the experiment yourself. Put the reconstructed and a face image of Jenny smiling and you can see some similarities. For me, the most interesting case of these reconstructed images is that of Cheryl Bowman. Her face was "completely battered into jelly", thus making a facial reconstruction impossible. However, her sketch was drawn with her hand (which had many rings) covering her face, in hopes she would be recognized. She was successfully identified after 16 years since her body was found.
I truly believe that in certain jobs a full psychological evaluation test should be required at least every 6 months! From an outside person or persons who are administrating the test so it would not be no room for bias or favoritism IMO
Oh shit you're covering Jenny's story! I went to school with her. Always wondered if one of the true crime channels would cover this. Her life was pretty tragic before this even happened, it's painful to think about.
after watching every single coffeehouse crime video i can confirm that yes, Adrian IS addicted to the line " as days turn into weeks" BUT i wouldn't have it any other way
I have a better idea than jail. Hard laboring in reforestation. It's useless being fed and with a bed. Thank you for sharing! As always brought with respect.
The composite picture looked weird but once they showed Jenny's photo I could see why that composite was out together. Like someone else has explained, it brings together the features that stand out the most on the subjects face. While it definitely looks strange once you actually see Jenny's photos you notice that yes, high cheek bones, small nose, bright teeth. Tragic that her life was taken away.
man, I wish more of the Crime YT community be like Adrian., respectful to the victims and their families while shedding light to the murderous intent of some sick individuals., other crime shows I feel have become more into either erasing the humanity of the assailant or victim and/or putting the assailant as a great figure heads that might led to becoming inspiration to future criminals. That's why the care this channel gives to both sides should be the standard for this crime shows/content
Slightly off topic, I appreciate the thumbnail change. Started scrolling through my phone early in the morning (a few days after watching the movie Smile) and almost cried lmao.
I have traveled through both states extensively as I was raised in the upper peninsula of Michigan and went to a small college in Duluth, Minnesota. Wisconsin is beautiful and I recall a lot of dairy farms. And I loved Milwaukee because of an Italian restaurant there. Minnesota was just a teeny, tiny bit more beautiful, I believe. I loved watching the ships from all around the world that came into Duluth to drop and/or pick up cargo.
I met my wife through FetLife. One of the largest bdsm communities. In my opinion, those who practice bdsm are far more respectful than average dating sites as trust is a key factor.
How is it possible that Laura met the clerk at the Motel for long enough for her to remember her and that she seemed scared a year later, but in that time Laura didn't pass a note or mouth the words help? No dash at the first opportunity? She was in a Motel lobby with cameras even if he did have a knife or gun surely you know he's not letting you go..
I'm from Wisconsin and I'd say our stae and national park systems are rettier along with our rural communities. Bradford beach alone is awesome in the summer time and alll the people who have private beaches in their backyard off of the coast of lake Michigan.
they do the facial reconstruction like that on Purpose... Her most memorable feature was her teeth...she had a big chipmunk smile...and it worked. It looked nothing like her but her grin was recognised ...if there is too much decomposition then it's better to blurr the image and focus on one defining feature
We? I can’t get out of my mind a trapped image of utter sleaziness and depravity. But that’s just me mate- my attitude is still one of ‘each to his own’.
Also...missed the kitty. My kitty loves ur kitty whenever they're on the screen! It's too funny cuz he looks at me like I'm a criminal!!! Like I've somehow trapped ur kitty in my phone & he's next. It's hysterical! 🐈⬛🖤💋
The fact that he killed both of them within months, and was so successful at hiding them, definitely makes me believe he has done this many times before.

Agreed. You may start out as strangers but you should get to know each other first, see if you vibe well together, etc and then start the BDSM relationship
@@callanightshade8079 ... Bruh y'all are freaks. Like what do you get from being man handled? =_= Like I spent years of my life slugging and throwing rebar around. What's the damn difference besides those actions actually hurting someone, it's weird but to each their own. I can understand slapping some ass, but wut? >_>
You can never have a proper BDSM relationship with anyone (without the potential for damage or abuse). People just won't admit that. It's a kink taken to the extremes... a place where anything can either go wrong or can go nasty. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that is partly it's appeal. Getting to know each other may help but doesn't safeguard you at all. Nobody knows anybody in entirety, it's simply not possible. This channel proves that every week.
Maybe I’m overanalysing but when they first questioned him he slipped and said ‘I didn’t know her’ and changed it to ‘I don’t know her.” He knew she was deceased. I need to quit watching so much true crime 😂
To be fair, if police came to my door and asked me about someone I’d either assume they committed a crime, were missing, or were dead. It’s not totally out of question for someone completely innocent to say ‘didn’t’ if they were thinking the last one.
@@RaccAttack77 Maaaaaaaybe...but I think naw. I'd definitely ONLY use the present tense when referring to someone if I hadn't been told explicitly that the person was killed/dead.
@@RaccAttack77 ehh seems like a stretch. If you truly didn't know someone you would simply say "nope, don't know 'em" so him saying "I didn't know her" implies past tense, implying that he must either currently know her, or knows that she is dead. If I actually don't know a person, them being dead doesn't change that. I still DON'T know them. Using 'didn't' is indeed a red flag.
No no, you’re onto something - the killer referring to a missing person in the past tense at a time when they’re not yet known to be deceased is a really good tell. It’s one of the main reasons I do think Casey Anthony did it, there’s a point when she was on the phone with her parents and she is recorded saying “Caylee *was* so lucky to have you as grandparents”…and then corrects herself “and to still have you as grandparents” 🤦♂️
Fun fact that no one asked for: The reason why a lot of facial reconstructions/composites of victims end up having that "uncanny valley" look is because when they can find any physical quirk or "abnormality" that stands out from the remains they're working with, they greatly exaggerate those unique features because it's those little things that not only family and friends will immediately recognize, but are also sometimes things that random witnesses might remember. So for Laura, it appears that all they had to really work with were her teeth, her high cheekbones, long narrow nose and a longer philtrum. The forensics just took all that and just dialed them up to an 11. It creates some really unsettling composites, tbh. But it's an old method that still apparently works REALLY well for identification. It's amazing.
I have a book written by a forensic artist that explains how certain features are exaggerated. I can't recall her name but she is a pretty phenomenal artist.
Not suprised that a cop would do this. Not all cops become cops for power tripping but the rotten ones do. His dating description reeks of a weak man that desperately needed to feel powerful and in control. It's no coincidence that he'd be a cop not to respect the badge but for power.
Those were my thoughts watching this video. Police and military, unfortunately, are very attractive for this breed of individuals. Weak, lost, often self-destructive, and desperate for someone to control in order to feel big an meaningful. Not uncommon for people in the medical field, too.
To say that this lifestyle is, somehow, safe…. Complete strangers are going to bind you? Inflict pain? Basically a stranger is to torture you, and this is something SAFE? Y’all have lost your effing minds.
ahh the joys of just being judgemental. here's a thought - stop believing 50 shades of grey was in any shape or form remotely connected to how BDSM is really
I am aware that this is somewhat unpopular opinion. But I don’t think the rep and the misunderstanding that the BSDM community get is without foundation, obviously. Stating how these practices are not connected to aggravated violence and deaths reminds me of that argument in the US how guns don’t kill people but people do. Why are we tipple-toeing around the fact that this scene is literally FILLED with violent, sadistic people who have found an outlet that will legitimise, even glamorise this abhorrent behaviour? Why are we not discussing the problematic sides of any servantdome, especially in sexually sadistic context? Sorry, I don’t see that as an outlet, I see it as a serious problem that isn’t discussed enough. And when it is, serious aspects are never being discussed except for placating practitioners through words or care and safety.
Good job to the ex-husband. He found the mother of his children. Bless them all. And bless the young woman who was found with her. No one deserves to be treated like that. 😪
Thank you so much for accurately clarifying and explaining what true BDSM is, how it’s meant to be practised, and the values/mutual care and respect of each other’s wellbeing and boundaries are. It’s so often misrepresented and misunderstood by those outside the community which is understandable but you’ve helped offer a clearer picture of it (and thus how it differs to cases of abuse under the guise of BDSM).
@@helenclark7876 I have to disagree. In all my experience as a dominant with many submissives over the years, and getting to know them on a deep level, they all have very different reasons for being drawn to the community. Same for dominants.. one of my best friends has very different reasons behind his lifestyle to me (he enjoys control/power and pushing his subs boundaries, I enjoy the complex psychological dynamic of gratifying the subs individual desires/needs and playing with the illusion of control to fulfill them and offer them a safe space to be 'free' to escape societal expectations of men). If anything, the commonality I've noticed in most of my subs has been a past of bullying or low self esteem. You'd think it's strange that they'd go on to enjoy and request humiliation if they've experienced bullying - but I see it as their way of dealing with that past trauma by facing it head on and ultimately being in control of it, rather than being an unwilling victim feeling powerless in a social setting. They're allowed to show emotions... be themselves.. be openly vulnerable... and not judged despite the roleplay. Aftercare is a necessity too. I honestly can't think of someone I know who fits the 'pent up sexual frustration' category within BDSM.. but thats not to say there arent any people who do.
I remember watching your videos when you were below 100K subs. You have had phenomenal growth, it is well deserved. Mostly, because of the great compassion and empathy you show to the victims of these crimes. Thank you!
He doesnt make stupid jokes or dance when there is a insurance policy like that other guy, so yah Coffeehouse does it right, respectful to these horrible crimes, not a joke
@@judgeprime3730"Judging others is human. To keep your opinion about someone else to yourself is having class." Just some food for thought. The other guy works very hard as well!
You'd think that after "accidentally" choking a partner to death, he'd learn a lesson. "It wasn't until the second girl dies from our 'breath play' did I realize how dangerous it was" - Steven, probably
I like that you put said "accidentally" ... I'm not an expert, but normally when strangling someone, don't they lose consciousness before dying ? And the death even happens minutes after that ? Which means the two women would have lost consciousness during their "play" and yet he would have continued until they were truly dead. Without rage and losing total control of yourself, I doubt it's actually possible to strangle someone to death "by accident" like he claimed.
It definitely is possible* to accidentally kill one person through breath play if you do it incorrectly. But that's why a) you have a responsibility to do it safely, and b) definitely anyone normal who accidentally killed someone would NOT continue the same actions on another person. C) most people who accidentally kill fess up immediately I think
It's why I don't do breath play or anything to do with choking, neck ligatures, drowning, or suffocation.. I also only have ONE BDSM partner, I trust him with my life, he doesn't abuse my trust..
Also I would like to know why he was “fine” with having jenny’s body in his house for so long, and then it was after he killed Laura, that he decided that Jenny’s body decomposition was beginning to stink? The body should have been into decomposition before he killed Laura… also how the heck was he able to sleep in the same room as Laura’s body? No one that “accidentally” killed a person should be able to, their adrenaline would be running and sleep shouldn’t come to them…
One of the best true crime channels. I love how articulate you are and very sympathetic towards the victims. Thank you for always honouring them and delivering their stories with the utmost respect.
I once met a guy who told me early on that he was in BDSM. I told him I wasn't into self abuse or abuse of others. I asked him why he was into it. He said his wife cheated on him and he divorce her. After that he got into BDSM to feel dominant. I appreciated his honesty but I ended the relationship. Scary.
That's not a valid reasoning actually. If you re a Dom, you re one. If you re a sub, you re one. Most people don't explore bc of how wrong advertisement of BDSM. It is all about safe, sane and consensual. And it doesn't always associates with pain and abuse. It can be sexual and nonsexual. And a trusting dom-sub relationship is always, always must have a contract, hard limits and safe words for both parties. I am not into it but out of curiosity made some research, talked to people. Having a open mind brings knowledge. But you were right about getting out of that.
It's really horrifying because all of these places are STUPID local to me. This monsters apartment wasn't far from where I went to university, I went to summer camp in the town where the victims were found. I vaguely remember this case even though I was only in early high school when he was apprehended. It's terrifying to be reminded how close these cases can be to home. Stay vigilant friends. ❤
Stuff like this happens in every corner of the world not just in your local area so I wouldn't say it's a reflection on that particular area, if I'm understanding your statement of stupid local, sorry if I misinterpreted that comment
Same. I’m from Texas and a lot of people have died within the Dallas area. At one point in time, you’d be able to walk at night with a few friends and have fun. Sadly, the place has become a hotspot for crime, as the once peaceful community in Dallas has become Ghetto and at night you can even hear gun shots as if you were in Chicago. Which is why I plan on being careful once I got to college. I’m the Houston area people get mugged and In Dallas ofc it’s Dallas, so only reason why I’d attend a college in Dallas is because the courses I wish to take. If only the world were more peaceful 😔

BDSM Community? You are talking about Agreeing to get together with a Virtual Stranger for Kinky Sex that causes a level Pain and Humiliation! Sounds Horrible! 😱 You're so politically correct!?
According to RU-vidr Lazy Masquerade. The reconstruction image of a victim would often be unusual in order to garner attention. They often highlight a persons facial features to make them stand out to those who see them so they are more recognisable (large eyes, strong cheekbones etc). If it had been a person whose facial features resembled many others, it will be difficult to be printed on everyone's mind who they were looking for. It helped a famous Jane Doe case of a woman with a spinal disfigurement whose disturbing reconstruction image garnered a lot of attention to her case which in turn ended up being partially solved. It might sound cruel especially if that person is to be remembered by that image however it is useful to solving the case.
The way you tell these horrific stories in such a compassionate way is such a welcome difference from many other channels that cover true crime stories.
How & why is he fake x seems like a nice educated guy telling us about the most vile evil pieces of shit out there & does it without all the drama just facts so I’m gonna be pissed off if it’s all a big act 🤔
The police department seem to be a perfect place for criminals to function. Their knowledge of the law, sympathy from connections to the dept., knowledge of their territory and of the people in it as well as access to dept. equipment and training to surveil, puts them in a mighty position to get away with crime. I’m surprised more of them aren’t utilizing these advantages…or are they just getting away with it?

Rather than becoming desensitized to the horrors of these cases I've found myself more increasingly upset by them . . . for numerous and varying reasons.
Then please take a long break, really. I know the feeling. Watch positive, happy things. And never forget that there are so many good people out there. The majority is kind and decent, and so many go above and beyond even that. 🌸
I just want to say thank you for being respectful and educational about what BDSM really stands for. I've never been an active participant in BDSM, but I'm very familiar with the concept and the various misconceptions behind it. You did a really good job of making it clear that it CAN be a safe practice. You didn't just gloss over it, you provided real information about how it should be done. Thank you.
@@pakde8002 You don't have to be a participant to be "well versed" in it. Also, there's no reason to judge anyone whether they do or do not participate.
@@pakde8002 yeah. Because he has covered stories with it before and he got a lot of hate for not understanding or showing sympathy for BSDM. Then the BDSM community educated him. And now he knows. Use your brain, just a thought.
I was on a walk when listening to this and verbally shouted "No! NO!" When you discussed how he engaged in breath play. Any kinkster worth their salt would always always always have industrial shears on hand if using any sort of rope, and would know that you DON'T use rope for breath play! And you especially don't use it with a gag. You ALWAYS leave the person at least two ways of communication. Holy heck, he knows nothing of proper bdsm and safety. He should have been locked up way sooner. He wasn't a kinkster, he was a predator and knew where to find vulnerable victims.
The fact he left the ball which was strapped in her mouth eliminated any doubt he had intended to kill her from the beginning, otherwise he would tried to resuscitate her. Case closed.
Thank you for your compassion and care in explaining what BDSM is SUPPOSED to be. Most get the wrong idea and b-line to “50 Shades of Grey” (which I’ve never read or seen, but was informed by some community members that it’s bs and flat out abuse). So thank you for that.
It's always the same thing. Instead of doing their research in depth and understanding how it all is, medias and some other people just barely touch the iceberg tip and hate on it. Not only with BDSM, but anything that isn't "mainstream," basically.
I think it's always eerie to see reconstructed pictures of victims that have been made from the victim's actual face. It reminds me of the reconstructed photo of the boy in the box where you can tell they're deceased in the actual photo. It's so sad but unfortunately necessary in some cases.
Adrian, I remember watching your videos when you had only 5,000 views per video and thinking you needed more recognition, and here you are at 1 million subscribers! I may not know you offline but I'm very proud of you.

You are the utmost respectful true crime youtuber on this platform - I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear "this person's actions don't represent the actual community", because way too often people go for the shock value of demonizing the scary the viewer may not understand, and I appreciate you working to prevent backlash to a healthy community :')

When you said "she was alone most of the time" I began wondering, "Did he get custody so she hardly sees the kids?" After continuing it seems that isn't the case, which makes me sad because she *wasn't* alone. I have six kids myself and they, with my wife, are ny best friends. It does seem to be the prevailing thought in society, though, to not count kids as capable of that role (at least from my anecdotal internet exposures).
I lived in both Rochester MN and Mequon WI in and around this time, and it's WILD I have never heard of this case. Honestly, though, given that he was a police officer in these areas, I'm low-key shocked he was convicted and sentenced to a reasonably long term
I’ve been catching up on your old videos one by one, and it’s WILD to see how far you’ve come as a storyteller and editor! Keep up the good work Adrian!
Thank you for your message about the BDSM community. This horrible person took advantage instead of taking care and should not be a reflection on the community. Happy to see he will be in jail for the rest of his life.
Piss off he doesn't need to be recruiting anyone into its ranks and that little PSA had no business being in such proximity to this, use some common sense
Adrian, you need to do a video on “Janet Chandler”… it’s a wild story that took years to solve. It has a lot of crazy twist and surprises with the victim, friends and suspects in it! You should definitely look into it!
When I was a teenager my mom gave me a wise piece of advice that I have always followed to this day. She said, “never let anyone tie you up. That’s just stupid.”
I've been through so many true crime podcasts/channels and yours is by far the most thoughtful and respectful channel I've come across. Every other one has made me so angry with how they make the perpetrator relatable and the story as one huge joke/piece of entertainment. These are family's traumatic events and you do them justice.
This case happened way too close to home for me.. When you’re not involved but it happens so close to home, it makes it feel more real (even though its very real for the victims). Oh and by the way, MN is the prettier one 😉❤
