Christmas is not just on the 25th, there are 12 days of Christmas, most people have forgotten or just think it’s a song or think it’s the days prior to the 25 leading up to that most important day. But for those of us who have not forgotten and celebrate the 12 day of Christmas, the birth of Christ, it is a wonderful time of life reflection and recommitment to our faith.
Catching up again on some of your older episodes and so enjoying them! Timing is everything …. this morning I went through some of your episodes I’d watched as I thought you had mentioned Simple Abundance, couldn’t find and you mentioned it again here! So excited as I love his book! I’ve had it since late 90’s?. Stopped reading and then bought for my Kindle a number of years ago. Lost all of my Kindle books 2 years ago when moving from US to Canadian Amazon Prime (long story - no recourse from Amazon). You’ve inspired me to pick up my hard copy of this again (happily it ‘survived’ our move and downsizing 10 years ago) and enjoy it, so thanks so much! Another wonderful episode. We like to make treats for the birds. Cut an orange and fill it with suet and birdseed and hang it for the birds. We have used a Bundt pan to make a cranberry wreath with suet and birdseed. There are many ways to easily make treats for the birds. It’s an easy and fun tradition with the added bonus of enjoying birdwatching.

Good morning Diane. Great to see you! I love your sweater you are wearing and it is lovely to see the pattern so clearly as on some others out there, the design is not very visible. I really like the handmade cookies etc and they make such wonderful gifts for friends and family. I do not actually celebrate Christmas because I find it is way too commercial and is the hardest time of the year for those who have financial restrictions. I am not religious but strongly believe it should be celebrated for its true meaning, if you see what I mean. Well have a wonderful time with your family and we shall see you next week. Good morning, yes I do get your meaning! I do love celebrating the change of seasons and the winter solstice. Enjoying the changes in nature and the plentiful seasonal foods. We lost my dad 30 years ago this week and that never goes away. He was the embodiment of the season and simple abundance. I think that’s why I crave quiet and peace and simplicity this time of year.
Good morning Claudia, thank you for checking in with me. We are fortunate to live east of the extreme weather. We did have a beautiful snowfall Christmas Eve day. This week our temps are rising and perfect for getting out for walks and opening the windows and getting some fresh air into the house. I’m editing and putting the finishing touches on episode 14 A Holiday Visit with mom. I hope it will be available tomorrow Friday am. We had a wonderful time together on the island. What a wonderful and warm-hearted Video again. I am so sad because we won't be able to celebrate with our daughter and her boyfriend because of Corona. They became positiv yesterday.
