I love these videos. Any plans to do Three's Company? While their apartment is fairly obvious, there is also Larry's, the Ropers'/Mr. Furley's, the Regal Beagle, Jack's Bistro. These videos are so fun!
For trivia buffs, The Jefferson's apartment appears in an episode of Good Times where JJ moves in with what he thinks are just bookies but they turn out to be selling drugs also. JJ is skinny enough to hide in the kitchen's broom closet when the apartment is raided by the police. Although the furniture in the living room and dining room are different, there's no mistaking that distinctive Jefferson's kitchen with the handles in the middle of the cabinets.
….and then there was me going immediately to find the snippets of Good Times to make comparisons then straight to Sanford and Son and What’s Happening l
Job well done! There was at least one episode that I remember where Florence and her new boyfriend were on the balcony where you saw the fourth wall in the background. I remember seeing a painting on the wall and a television, so you are right. :) The Jeffersons is my all-time favorite sitcom and my favorite TV set.
The wall in the kitchen would definitely have a china cabinet on it where Weezy could display all of her gorgeous china! I grew up in the 70s the Jeffersons brings back so many fun memories love that show!
OMG!!! You did your thing recreating this entire apartment look for the Jeffersons. Everything was on point, accurate & entertaining. That picture of Billy D Williams in Florence room #PRICELESS. Such a creative mind to help us visualize this home. I enjoyed to the fullest 👍🏾🤣

This was a great tour. I love the background on the actors too. You did a great job with those kitchen cabinets. They look eerily similar to our 1979 kitchen cabinets that we just got rid of last year about this time! 😅 Great job, I love these videos and can't wait to see more!
I love the door in the kitchen. My mom's best friend had an apartment in Manhattan, and there was a service entrance in the kitchen through which delivery people could drop off groceries or caterers could enter and exit for parties, as the service elevator and stairs were just outside the door. Love your tours, Marina. This is my third one today!
This is officially the coolest ish Ive seen in the history of the Internet 🤣🙆🏾♀️👏🏾 The Jeffersons is my favorite sitcom of time and I always dreamed of living in a deluxe apartment like this one and sometimes with them lol. So this is so surreal to me. I never can imagine a extra door in the kitchen but other than that great job. Now I wanna see The Willis's apartment😁

I love to watch that show when I was little. My favorite character was Florence. I also loved looking at the cool interiors from the late 70s to the early 80s. Maybe do another show 227
When I finally had it all finished and took the camera down there nd turned around to come back down the hall, I think I let out a, "Wow!" It looked so much cooler than I pictured. And even though none of the actors ever had a hallway like that to walk down, I loved seeing what it would have looked like if it was real.
Awesome job! I always loved their deluxe apartment in the sky. I too thought that shelf feature above their bed was so cool and always enjoyed looking at it illuminated at night during the opening intro when George is dancing around on top of the bed
That is possibly why I tried to find a bed with that design. If you look at the furnishing in the early 1980’s, a lot of furniture stores emulate that feature.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Yes! That hallway!😍 The production on these videos is A-mazing. From the music, to your voice, to all the technicality & details.. Truly wonderful. Please keep 'em coming! ~Happy holidays!🎄
I love watching your videos since it's really difficult sometimes to picture what these places would look like if they actually existed, especially since stage sets aren't laid out as they would be in real life. Nice detail with the Billy Dee pic in Florence's room!
Glad you liked the tour. They definitely had a deluxe apartment in the sky! You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
Your videos are amazing! You always blow me away showing the layouts of my favorite homes I grew up watching on tv (and still do) and dreamed I could live in. Thank you for all the nostalgic trips down memory lane.
I wonder why the set designers had Lionel's room as his and not Florence's? With the door to close off the 2 bedrooms it would have made sense for that area to be the family's private area.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane there has to be someone from the set crew still here to ask. Praise God Marla is still here. I have many questions as well. I don’t believe they would have had a laundry room considering the apartment wasn’t up on the penthouse floor as Mr Whittendale’s. I think even Florence was known /seen going to the laundry room other than the times they had meetings in there.
@@birdie.b I messaged Marla on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, hoping to get an interview, but never heard back. I would have LOVED to hear her stories!
Your videos are so much fun to watch. I definitely like the living room better with that beautiful bookshelf, and I like the idea of the kitchen having a second door.
another great video marina - thanks! i always liked the jeffersons & their "deluxe apartment in the sky" - so many tv & movie apartments can be garish but 'the jeffersons', 'the bob newhart show', the first 'mary tyler moore show' & last but not least, 'that girl' all have an element of reality to them - enjoyed & thanks! :)
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I'll be looking forward to that. Newhart's apartment is one of those that's more than just nostalgic appeal, I used to think it would be a cool place to live. Really liked the layout.
This wasn't just great, it was astonishing. Marina, all of your TV home tours have been wonderful, but it seems like you're getting more and more better with each one. I watched this on my smartphone at the market today, then came home and watched it on my 50" tv, it's just beautiful. I was going to say their apartment has a funky layout, when we look at it from above, but I live in a 100 unit high-rise comprised of studios one and two bedroom units and you would be surprised at the variety of layouts we have. Anyway, BIG thank you for this latest tour!! You're awesome! 🙂💖👍👍👍👍👍
Beautifully done Marina! Your voice, the in-depth demo and the walk-through of the apartment brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. It was so nice to see the "missing" parts of the apartment we weren't shown on TV.. I have a full picture of what it looks like now! Thanks for this!
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane that's great. I'd love to see the tour of Major Nelson's house. I Dream of Jeannie was my favorite show when I was growing up. I watched all the reruns. When I was a kid I got the I Dream of Jeannie bottle toy one Christmas. It was fantastic. I wish I still had it. 💝🧞
This is a great video of one of my favorite shows. I really enjoyed this. I always loved the Jefferson's apartment. Being a New Yorker myself, the Jefferson's apartment looks just like apartments I have seen on the upper east and west sides of Manhattan. Thank you for sharing this video.

You made me cry and goosebumps went up and down my arm! As a little girl, I longed to live in that apartment with the Jefferson's because I loved the show that much. You just brought back so many great memories of watching the show and what it would feel like if in fact it was a real place. So much to comment on! First I love it that you included a picture of Billy Dee Williams in Florence's room. She had such a major crush on him and even got kissed by him in one episode. I thought she'd have had a real life sized poster of him on the wall lol! I agree that they'd have had to have their own laundry room. I keep thinking if we ever moved from our apartment the two things I want are a small laundry room with washer and dryer instead of having to go down to the laundry room here where it opens and closes at certain times and with covid only one could use it at a time. I also want a bath and a half so my husband and I don't have to wait for each other. How did families stand it when there were 4 children plus parents and only ONE bathroom? Maybe sometime you could do 704 Hauser Street the home of the Bunkers on AITF. We usually only saw the living room, dining room and kitchen but I'd be interested in the layout of the upstairs. And that elusive fourth wall downstairs. As usual, your work is brilliant and I love watching these videos.
@@sparker7768 I know, but I was thinking mostly of the upstairs hall. We saw it really well in one episode, the one where Theresa has her boyfriend over when Archie and Edith are planning a trip out of town and then miss their bus or something and come home unexpectedly. Edith finds Theresa upstairs and they talk about what's going on and I love that hall, you see the nice woodwork and a table between the bedrooms. I know you see the bathroom in one episode, the one where Gloria and Mike are going to move to California and they're all in there, and Mike and Archie are having to share the mirror. Of course I remember the terlit flushes (I have pronounced it that way since the show was on originally lol). And we often saw Mike and Gloria's bedroom and Archie and Edith's. Sometimes I imagine how I would fix up the bedrooms on that show and every other show I watch, and all the homes I've lived in, how I would arrange the furniture etc. I know, I'm nuts.
I was Born in 1972 the Jeffersons were refreshing to see back then proved African Americans can be successful like mine my mother was a physical therapist and my dad a physician so we could relate to this show grow up and My family watch religiously growing up 😃
I'm sure I'll eventually get to those. I'm currently working on Home Alone. It should be out mid-December. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
this was INCREDIBLE. i got goosebumps watching it from the perspective of the Jeffersons. One of my favorite shows. Simpler and better times. The design is amazing and truly a deluxe apartment
Great job! Love the pic of Billy Dee Williams in Florence's room, but was hoping to compare and contrast the apartment before and after they redecorated in the later seasons.
I always figured that back door of the kitchen led to a service area, including an elevator. You mention stairs, but I find it hard to believe such a deluxe apartment would make someone carry groceries through the entire length of the apartment to the kitchen in the back--there'd likely have been rear access for those kinds of errands, like they had in the Family Affair apartment. As for the blank wall in the kitchen, I'm imaging a big baker's rack, which were popular in the 1970s. Someone else mentioned a china cabinet, but I think if the Jeffersons had either a china cabinet or a buffet, those would have been in the dining room.
I believe the kitchen "back" door led to the hallway. It's common in luxury apartments/condos to have a "service" entrance. In come cases good friends would use it. I distinctly remember the Willis's using that entrance every now and then to pop in for a visit.
I would assume the apartment, being a deluxe high rise apartment, probably had another entrance to the hallway. I know building codes and rules are different now than they were then, but now many new builds require a second door, or a backdoor, just incase say a fire in the Jeffersons front door area prevented their escape they'd have the kitchen back door to fall back on, and having a terrace isn't an acceptable replacement because you could stand out there away from the apartment fire yea but that is several hundred feet up and smoke would be pouring out of the windows and such.
@@empire7179 I've lived in many different apartments as well. I assure you that *my* apartments never had a service entrance, but the ultra high-end ones sometimes do.
You took the words right out of my mouth .😂😂 I was sitting here feeling that I was an intruder and George was just losing his mind. 🤯 I didn't know they lived so well . That definitely was a Deluxe apartment in the sky. Such a cool 😎 thing you have done with these tv homes.
Fantastic! I prefer the delineation between the living and dining rooms. The walls are small enough so that it still has an openness ... but not too much. I finally have a clear picture of the bedrooms in my mind now thanks to you. They very rarely showed Lionels or Florences rooms. Really enjoyed this one! So many great memories. ✌❤
Glad you liked it. I couldn't wait to go back in that hallway and figure everything out. It was a huge apartment, but we didn't get to see very much of it.

As a kid growing up in the 1990's and watching the reruns of this classic show with my parents, I always thought this apartment was more like a condo. It was beautiful and sharp the way it was presented and even today this particular interior setting would stand up. We lived in a "Brady Bunch" style home but I always admired the architecture of this time era.
Another awesome video & tour! I really like the music you chose for the video. Very representative for the time. Just a small point, the Jefferson moved to Manhattan, the upper East Side, specifically, from (Astoria) Queens, not the Bronx.. George and Louise were neighbors of Archie Bunker on the CBS sitcom, “All in the Family.”
The other odd thing is the placement of the elevator. It’s at the end of the hallway. I lived in an apartment building, no where near a deluxe apartment in the sky, in the Bronx, and it was centered. The Bronxwood Tower, on east 233rd street. Fun Fact: the Bronxwood Tower was seen in the movie love story with Ryan O’Neil. He was working selling Christmas trees in the Boston area. But in fact he was on east 233rd street, Bronx NY.
THIS (!!!!) is why I love RU-vid. This was the video I didn't know I needed. Unfortunately, I am supposed to meet friends for dinner. But, I have to watch the Tour of the Bewitched Home. I can't imagine how long it took to do this, but I am so happy you did. Thank you!
@@santodomingoexpat6866 I'm going to be redoing it though. That was when I was first learning the software. I want to add information too, instead of just a tour.
This was so fun to watch. Thank you! I do have to mention that I would have loved to have heard more about the bar in the living room, only because as a kid I thought that they had juice in all of those pitchers (decanters). I decided that when I grew up I wanted to have my own juice bar in my house. I am happy to report that as a fully grown adult, I now have my own living room bar with "juice". We call it "The Jefferson Juice Bar"

Very nice. Actually we did see that fourth wall on one episode. I forgot which episode. But they were near or on the balcony I believe and they had the camera facing the interior of the apartment.
Thanks for bringing that up. I was going to include that shot and forgot. We get just a glimpse of it and see two paintings. It was in the episode, "George's Dream," when they were all old. By the way, I LOVE when others get into the details of these homes. Makes me smile every time I'm not alone 😊

Very good job I always wondered because it was mainly showed in the living room. I didn't give it a hole lot of thought because I was a teenager at the time and teenagers don't give a hole lot of thought to anything. My sister seen the one who played George at a BBQ close to her house in Danville. She said she reached across the picnic table gave his hand a little pat but there was never any conversation. Thank you so much for the video.
Thank you for this. I was very excited to see this tour. I've only seen reruns and always thought the hallway was the master bedroom. I was just a kid,so seeing this makes better sense. Great work, thanks again.
After I finish a tv or movie home, it's always fun to go back and watch the show because all of a sudden where they are in the house makes so much sense.

Well, sort of and sort of not. I watch quite a few in the beginning. Then as I start modeling the home, I have episodes up on one of my computer screens and slide through them to get the angles I need to see. But, I catch a lot of what was going on in the episodes that way too.
Thank you so much! I love hearing that. Up next - Home Alone. After that, Family Affair. I got to interview Kathy Garver [Cissy] for that one and she gave some great behind-the-scenes stories. It will be a fun one.
I love the added touch of the portrait of Billy Dee Williams on Florence's bedroom dresser. He was her all time favorite leading man & featured in an episode of The Jeffersons. 👍🏽💯😊

Sure didn't see this coming. Just mesmerizing. I just absolutely love dogs but am ashamed to admit I never laughed so hard as when George was dogsitting and tossed the ball behind him out into the terrace and the dog jumped over the wall after the ball. Couldn't show that today. You mentioned the kitchen square feet. Do you know what the approximate square footage of the apartment would have been? Can't believe all the research you must do to get so incredibly detailed. Do you watch every episode or have someone help you? Or do you spot watch quite a few. Seems you must watch most all the episodes. Fantastic work as usual!
@@elizabethalvarado813 When I made this episode I looked up the cost of apartments to rent in that building and there were none with the square feet, number of bedrooms and bathrooms. I would love to know what it would cost.

The 4th wall of the living room was actually shown once, IIRC. I remember Florence being on the balcony with a man and the camera showing the never-seen wall
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane No problem! Now I'm gonna be on the hunt for that episode! Stumbled upon this channel and I really enjoyed this video.
