the fact that they try to bite is really odd Imagine being surrounded by a bunch of giggling Anklebiters dressed in Students robes flinging books, Chandeliers and occasionally some Fire your way...
You said it, anklebiters - just like every single kid out there who didn't get some good discipline. Rennala is a terrible mother and teacher, judging by her students.
The fact that the small child (?) homunculus seems to stare back at you confused when you pull away your leg is probable the most jarring thing in Elden Ring (at least for me).
I wasn't prepared for how uncanny their faces are in the official art. You can just tell there is -nothing- behind those eyes, like whatever consciousness is left in that body is barely awake or is even aware of itself or the world around it.
Larva of Rot* And I think it's the reverse. There's no reason for the Larva to have the pinched/closed right hand, but the Scholar holds a quill. So it's likely that the Scholar was made first and the Larva is the reskin.
It's actually intentional, originally these things were called Antients, and we can see with Asimi the Mimic Tear, that the Antients evolved from the silver tears. Rennala's Egg used to contain naked versions of these things which also lacked legs and looked like slug girls. There's a reason Marika's Mischief / Mimic Veil was updated to include that fact in the first patch, and it's because Marika's Black Knife Numen sisters (Whos runes were originally Antient Runes) are said to part of the same "Stock." Stock refers to farmed animals, and nothing says that the Eternal Cities failed in their attempt to create a Mimic Lord. Asimi would have used the title of "Sovereign Eternal", teaching us that Marika herself originated from the Eternal City. This is also why the "Nox" are internally labeled as Marika's Descendants. Marika's Will is actually the Ranni ending with the creation of a new Night Lord. Marika is a mimic of the Dusk Eyed Queen, Renna, which is why she broke the elden ring to trap Radagon inside the erdtree to prevent him from destroying her tarnished she tasked with rising up and slaying god. This is why Marika calls Radagon a lapdog of the Greater Will, as she's actually only playing her role as the leader of the Golden Order in order to sabotage the Greater Will. This is also why Marika and Radagon are capable of being the same person, as it's a Mimic infected with two wills. Much like Millicent turns into Malenia, Melina turns into Renna if she's not allowed to choose her own fate. Ranni isn't using a doll, she's using her grandmother's stone skinned corpse that was destroyed by Maliketh after he snatched her "Beast Eye". 1.0 data was only really changed to obfuscate a lot of facts and make the plot a little bit harder to figure out. The pregnant ants in the root area near the Elden Star incantation are actually pregnant with Numen, likely after ingesting Silver Tear.
@@Primalintent I'm pretty sure this whole boss fight and juvenile scholars are reused assets from unused Rosalia fight in DS3. Scholars have the same movements as man-grubs across Rosalia's chamber, and in her room there are multiple cradles hoisted on some chains, also someone (I think Zullie) posted that there's supposed to be boss fight of her... Yeah, that speaks pretty clearly where the original inspiration lies.
@@rodgersb1248 Not really because alabaster/onyx Lord use gravity magic without studying it, its part of their being because they were born from the impact of a meteor, it's similar to how the ancient dragons use lightning while these scholars are the only human sorcerers in Raya Lucaria that learned how to use it
I always thought that they are what ranni actually looked like, an endless repetition of a mother to get her daughter back. Especially since their eyes are a literal mix of blue and gold the colors of rennala and radagon. They also are fairly angrogenous so its more difficult to say
None of them are blonde like Rykard either. I get the impression that despite Rennala's obsession with having children again, anything that reminds her of actual children is too painful to replicate.
Such a great design. Delicate and precious but also creepy, just “off”. They look a lot like Rennala with their dark hair and small lips/noses, but their eyes are just wrong.
That fight was like : They attempt to bite my toes hehe how silly... Oh that one lifted up a globe and is slowly moving it around how cute... Oh that one's throwing books hehe... Are those ones transforming into a tombstones ? why are they tombstones ??? OH MY GOD GIANT LASER BEAM !!! Also how do they look under the cloth do they actually have no legs ?
@@sword_of_slaveknightgael hey we got to see every enemy naked/furless even the most hideous ones is it much to at least know if the weird crawling underage students have legs... No wait that sounded wro-
Wondering if you would be willing to look at the model of the Poisoned Albinauric's in the poison pools near the Albinauric village (if you have not already). They mostly just sit around spouting poison clouds and I've only been able to find 3 but I would like to get a good look at their model.
Thanks for those ending clips. I haven't seen good footage of the kindred of rot babies like this before. Zlofsky posted a small image but it's not as good as this! Thank you.
The description of the Great Rune of the Unborn explains it: "Children born anew by Rennala are all frail and short-lived. Imperfect beings, each and all"
I wonder if something about the past and future have been inverted in some way like turning an hourglass, or braiding strands of hair, with the overall elden ring being the point of convergence between the above (stronger association with a future-eternity-finality kind of way, think Marika the eternal, look at the hair) and the bottom of the hourglass (realm of shadow, past-death-beginning kind of way, think Radagon, look at the hair), I think this is why the sacred relic sword is the twisting spine. I think the greater will gave them a time table before being merged as one against both their will, hence why they shattered the elden ring, to survive. I do believe this would mean we could have a final battle at the elden ring on the other of the hourglass (realm of shadow). That'd be neato.
I try to keep some what of an understanding on Elden Ring's lore but why the hel l do they turn in to grave stones. Is this what Renala means by being grave stone because I just thought that was a metaphor for refusing rebirth?
They're all Albinaurics. Marais, Carians, Ancestral Followers, Mimics, Zamorans, Nox. Heck look at how Radagon swings 🤷. Look at Shamshir, Flowing Sword, Zamoran Sword, and Albinauric's curve club. These are all Albinaurics. Nox Twin Crown has the same cross stich pattern on Renalla's Crown, Mask of Confidence Rune of Radagon. Scorpion Stinger Dagger has a wolf on it's hilt too 🤔 like that statue with a woman with wolves. In fact Elemer's armor has a Lion/Snake motif and his blue cape mirrors Godfrey 😂. Look up Phoenician Faces. 31 North Parallel. Phoenixes....Twin Birds.... Sun and Moon
I seriously doubt it's him. RU-vid deletes comments left and right for no reason. I wouldn't be surprised if this comment gets deleted, like half my comments don't go through.
