45 years ago today we lost Elvis, and his music is still touching people! What a legacy he left us all. "American Trilogy" is a MUST reaction, please 🙏
Elvis was a showman, the people that promote showmen are snowmen, and all the rest are rubes. Point is, people are capable of SOOO much more, including singing just as good if not better than Elvis. But most never even try.
On the anniversary of his passing today 45 years ago. Longer than he lived his life. Incredible to think all that in 42 years. Amazing. Rest in Peace 💜💜💜💜💜💜✌
You MUST react to Elvis's 68 comeback special!! If you want to see Elvis live!! Any Elvis fan will tell you the black suited Elvis was the GOAT! One night with you, trying to get to you, Lawdy miss Clawdy, the WHOLE set was 🔥!!! I am on my KNEES! PLEASE do it!!😃
He did this song at the live satellite concert in Hawaii in 1973 which was broadcast around the world and seen by over a billion people... I watched it live....best concert ever... The song is available on RU-vid in the live version, that is if it isn't blocked... Great reaction, guys...
ROB SQUAD This song came out in 1972 ,,,, I some one called ELVIS the KING In An interview once And Elvis told him no Jesus Christ is THE KING .. I Love it
"Can't Help Fallin' in Love with You" is sensitive Elvis at his best. It's been played at countless wedding receptions for decades because it's the ultimate slow-dancing song. Rockin' Elvis can be heard with "Bossa Nova Baby" and so many others.
He would not agree with you ,, Elvis once was told by a man in an interview that he was the King And Elvis told the man No JESUS CHRIST is the KING .... I LOVE IT
You're right about the many aspects to Elvis, but one you didn't mention is his Gospel influence. He put out a few Gospel albums and as with everything he touched, they were terrific. RIP, King.
Someone once asked Elvis what it was like to have the best voice in rock and roll. Elvis replied "You'll have to ask Roy Orbison" What a class act. Miss you king.
I was in the Army with Elvis' 1st cousin's son, back in the '80's so he'd be Elvis' 1st cousin, 1 generation removed. He was from Mississippi and sounded exactly like Huckleberry Hound.
@@elevenbucks5682 oh really? During this time, a fellow sergeant introduced Elvis to amphetamines, which he began taking almost daily. He also gave them to his young girlfriend and fellow service members, according to “Careless Love: The Unmaking of Elvis Presley” by Peter Guralnick. now go back to your inflatable girlfriend, BOZO!
One of my favorite Elvis songs, along with Kentucky Rain, Suspicious Minds and In the Ghetto. I was never an Elvis fan in the early years, but he had a string of hits in the ‘70s that were great.
Over the last year, I've really begun preferring his older material. Honestly, I can't see how people think he got less sexual in his older, it's just more nuanced because he's matured but he also had more to work with in the 70s, not to say that guy really needs much instrumentation but you get a sense of the uniqueness of the sound he wanted to hear even with covers like Bridge Over Troubled Water and Unchained Melody, he had this ability to get something out of any song that not even the original singer ever imagined possible which is why Elvis could cover anyone but covering Elvis is redundant, you won't do it better.
For your daughter, try "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear". Sweet love - has 1 verse of - run my fingers thru your hair & a cuddle. Fans always gave Teddy Bears to Elvis because of this song. Also up tempo & sweet great song.
‘Alittle less conversation’, so many to choose from. ‘Blue Moon of Kentucky’, “suspicious minds’ for sure and of course ‘the next step is love’ is soooooo awesome.
I recently read a great quote from decades past from Bill Monroe, the writer and original performer of "Blue Moon of Kentucky". When asked about the Elvis version, he said at first he didn't like it, but then he started getting the royalty checks. lol
Yeah, the memory is so vivid. Like yesterday. I was in a campground in Yellowstone National Park, 11 years old, enjoying a great summer vacation with my family when my parents broke the news to me and my older brother. Crazy how you can still feel the shock so many years/decades later. RIP King!
Love that you did this. My only suggestion is watch him live any time you can. Aloha from Hawaii concert has all the best song. Hope you do my way or American trilogy
I was an extra in a movie starring The Rock. It was called "The Game Plan". This song was featured in it too. At the end credits, they play various scenes of the cast singing this, and I remember being on set and watching them. It was such a fun experience, and I met alot of the stars too! 🤩🎬🏈
Robert...I was just about to mention The Game Plan with The Rock in it and how this song is featured in the credits! Great, cute family football inspired movie, along with some other great inspiring moments! One of my fave Disney movies! And that must've been such a fun, awesome experience for you! That's so great! This song fit perfectly with everyone at the end!👏❤️🙂
@@ShannyShan20 it really was fun. The football games were mostly filmed in Gillette stadium, and the cheerleaders in the movie were the real life ones from The Patriots. I played a state cop during the games, and in between filming I was hanging out with the cheerleaders. It was a great time! 😂
Great tune! The "Handsome Boy"! That's cute. Hunka Hunka! Hitting it right out the box! A friend of mine has seen that new movie FIFTEEN TIMES! Yeah Jay! Great reaction. Thanks guys!
One of Elvis backup singers attended our church in the early 2000's. His name is Bill Biaze, and we had the privilege of hearing him sing one day. One of the most majestic singers I have ever heard in my life. Elvis let him showcase his voice during one of his concerts. Bill is a very kind man, and only had good things about how Elvis treated people. All people, regardless of their background, or their ethnicity.
I was 18 years old when he passed. It still hard to believe that the man is gone. It so great that the legend gets to live on. Only if he had known. Thank You Both.
I remember one summer day in the 80's when a radio station in Toronto decided to change their format and become a 100% 24 hour per day Hunka Hunka Burnin Love station. They proceeded to play this song over and over, all day long. The funny thing is, I listened to it all day long. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the next day they went back to their previous format.
Live Elvis is alot of fun. The Hawaii concert for sure, and also his comeback special from 1968. He plays some guitar in the '68 TV special, he's having a great time, worth a watch.
May the King of Rock rest in peace 🙏. Elvis' hymns are among my favorite. His version of How Great Thou Art gives me chills! I was 6 years old when he died.. I can still remember that day!
August 16th, 1977 The day the World stood still. I was 13 and was watching TV when the news broken in and announced he had died. My brother is a big Elvis fan, he seen him 9 times. He was in our town that June, we moved back from Tennessee that July. My brother said the next time he comes to town I’ll take you to see him. He died the next month. 😢 I agree with your daughter. I always have said he was the best looking man to ever walk the Earth. Imo. 🥰
Great reaction! Elvis died on a Tuesday, and I remember because Happy Days was on Tuesday’s and all 13 channels of TV preempted regular programming to do a special about The King’s death. This was the biggest story since the bicentennial and while the bicentennial was technically in 1976 from a marketing standpoint it started around 1974! All the fast food places had red white and blue to go bags and cups. Cars, motorcycles and bicycles had red white and blue paint schemes on certain models. Everyone had flags in their yards! Clothes had Stars and Stripes! Bicentennial parties were going on long before 1976 with red white and blue streamers and plates! It was wild and after it was over it was like a hangover until Elvis died!
One of his many great songs, I’ll never forget the day he passed my friend and I were riding our bikes and his mother was crying with his aunt sitting next to her crying,He went home and I rode on to my house to find my mother crying and said what is going on and then they told me
Great Reaction and Song as always!!! Hey if the kiddos love the "Handsome Man", they'd love the movie Lilo & Stitch... *Not sure if they've seen it yet but it's full of Elvis hits, watched it religiously as a kid!!!*
Perfect timing on this reaction. Elvis passed away on August 16, 1977 at age 42. I remember that day like it was yesterday. One of the saddest days in entertainment history. RIP Elvis. We still miss you 45 years later. Someone mentioned the movie The Game Plan that features this song. It is a fun movie that has The Rock in it. Your girls would love this movie as well. Such fun.
Yep! One of those later songs that I still really really love. Is also still on my run-music-list... singing: it's hard to breath and my chest is a heaving while running as fast as you can.
You two are bringing me so much happiness. Seeing you discover the fantastic music from my era brings me joy. You mentioned you have a 6 year old daughter and wanted some suggestions for an Elvis song for her. This triggered a memory from my past. I am 67 years old now. But when I was 6, I was living in Seattle with my mom and sister. We were going to the Seattle Worlds Fair. I overheard my mom saying that Elvis was in town filming a movie at the fair. The filming was going to begin on the first day of school, so that the fairgrounds would not be overcrowded with a bunch of teenagers. We went to the fair that day and the truth is, everyone just poured in the moment school let out. On the way to the fair, I had insisted that we stop at a record store. I wanted "Teddy Bear" by Elvis Presley and my mom bought it for me. It was the first rock and roll record I had to have. We had fun at the fair that day, riding the Monorail and going up in the Space Needle and of course looking for Elvis around every corner. By the way, in the Science Expo we saw microwave ovens for the first time and my mom commented that they would never sell. Ha ha! So, long story short, have your little girl listen to "Teddy Bear"
I haven’t heard this song in many years but it still sounds fresh. Please do some Linda Ronstadt. Your fans are longing for that sweet, powerful voice 🌺✌️
Amber needs to watch something from the 68 comeback special. Your welcome in advance. Lol trying to get to you 68 comeback special is the black leather Elvis
Awesome song by Elvis! His backup singers The Sweet Inspirations were powerhouse singers too! Fun fact Whitney Houston's mom Cissy Houston was one of The Sweet Inspirations too! You will have to check them out!
Here is a live version of the song ..... And before you say ..... Way are the people just sitting there ..... I will answer that ..... They are mesmerized ..... The show has been going for awhile ..... But Elvis was electrifying just being there was unbelievable ..... I use to go to every concert I could go to ..... And I have seen them all ..... But no-one ..... And I mean No-One ..... Comes close to the incredible trance Elvis had on the people and the place ..... Talk about may the force be with you ..... He sure had it ...... Absolutely Elvis did ..... Just by being there ..... You were zonkered by it ...... And when Elvis was done ..... And the people heard the man say .... ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING ...... ALL I COULD HEAR IS THOSE WORDS BURNED IN MY MIND FOREVER ..... FROM THE PEOPLE SCREAMING ..... { WE WANT ELVIS ..... WE WANT ELVIS } ..... OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER ..... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0SUC8sdP5eI.html ..... No Brag ..... Just Fact .....
This is too eerie. I played this video this morning.. Here are you are reacting to this video. This is one of my fav Elvis songs. Today is Elvis death anniversary alon g with Aretha Franklin too. RIP Elvis. BOTH LEGENDS.
My favorite Elvis song! Very playful lyrics and singing and a beat that makes you want to get up, dance around, shake your hips and do your best Elvis impersonation. Great day to play this.
Elvis had it ALL - extremely talented, extremely handsome, had a extremely giving heart - what a man and what a loss to the world at his death - their will NEVER be another who can even come close to what Elvis was - a WORLD ICON!!!
Totally AGREE. He believed ON the LORD JESUS CHRIST AS WELL The jailer asked Peter How must i be saved. Peter said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved When you put all your trust in him and in him alone, He promises to keep you out of Hell Thats why he died for all mankind. The best news EVER take care. God Bless you all. I hope to see you in Heaven.
