@Bence Sárközi I think you’re just mad he has a differing opinion on this game. I know for a fact you’ve based your opinion of the game on *other* creators opinions, and all of them were negative.
@Bence Sárközi There is no such thing as a "real" review, just because someone has a different opinion doesn't mean it is not "real". Most of the critics reviews are positive anyways, this has the highest number of GOTY awards. I saw Nakey Jakey's video , no game is perfect, but I liked TLOU2. I don't care if others are mad, I still had fun. Dunkey did talk about some problems you just didn't notice them cause of your hatred
@Bence Sárközi A quote, from you: "Any time someone gave a legit criticism to this game you guys just said your typical tlou2 stan sentences" And any time someone says legit praise you will repeat "tlou2 stan" verbatim. Maybe make valid arguments instead of attacking someone's character because it clearly shows you're closed to discussion.
What fans of the series need to realise is that Druckmann only killed Joel in order to convey what happens when you drink the tap water at Jerry Garcia’s house

littlekitsune1 When I saw that, my gf and I were so sad because we go there all the time since it’s across the street from the movie theater. But it was also expensive as all hell so not a total loss lol
Playing through the game a second time made me realize how much I care about the characters in the game. The scene with Joel and Ellie in the museum made me want a DLC that’s just Joel and Ellie hanging out and watching movies
@Thunder Cake123 Yeah I agree with that but I think that may have been somewhat intentional too, at least sometimes; they humanise some characters just enough to make them feel real. In turn one you kill the random people it can feel just like that; they are just random people with their own lives who you didn't know. As for the characters in the story I agree with you, I think it's probably some development constraint, or just a narrative one; they probably too many for their own good tbh
@@KUBADUC3 I never knew they watched movies and hung out in the first game!? All I remembered was Joel and Ellie running away and killing hunters and cannibals?
You know when I first watched this video I thought to my self this guy is crazy. But 3 years later having had enough time to forget about all the spoilers and all the negativity I bought and played the game for myself and experience it blind. And having now finished it this guy was spot on.
I'm replaying it myself for the first time in years and also having a blast. It still feels like a cutting edge experience tbh. Why do you think people are so up in arms about the game?
@@smellyarmpit23 I honestly have no idea. I prepared a long comment speculating every possible reason but it was very long so I didn't bother posting it. To sum it up I think it's mainly 2 things. 1, people being hurt by Joel's death and 2 later being forced to play as the person who killed him. Not only that there was so much negativity and bad aura around the game a bunch of people I'm sure just followed the group instead of giving it a proper chance. I bet a lot of people would chanage their opinion on the game if they gave it a second chance, especially now thanks to hindsight. Personally, I was able to open myself up to it, and playing as Abby was honestly a stroke of genius and a big part of why I enjoyed the game so much.
Didn't have a Playstation at the time and didn't pay much attention to the game, just heard it was bad. I recently got a PS5 and gave it a try, and it completely blew me away.
That’s awesome! Love to hear more people discovering their appreciation for this game. Like Dunky said you actually have to play a game to know the experience. Too many people followed the herd of imbeciles that claimed this game was just simply bad instead of forming their own opinion. Hope more people give it a chance after getting over the fad of hating it.
on a serious note, this is one of your best reviews. this quote just says it sufficiently - "characters will do things you wont agree with and you'll have to turn your brain on and attempt to empathize with them"

I think the gameplay and AI is criminally underrated for this game since the entire focus is on the storyline. The way stalkers work in game and in general enemy encounters are so damn dynamic you will be always on your toes. Stalkers should be the seed for next generation AI design of stealth enemies. Amazing.
Just played TLOU for the first time on PC and beat it, not sure if the gameplay is similar to the 2nd game for the remaster but there was not a dull moment during gameplay. Phenomenal
I finally got to playing and beating this game about a week ago. I had no idea why people were upset about this game, but I just played it without digging into it. It is now one of my favorite games I have played.
I had a friend who loved TLOU, and read all about TLOU2 spoilers. He was livid and felt like they ruined the series. I didn't read the spoilers but I heard how mad everyone was. Played the game on Day 1 and didn't stop until I beat it. I told him how good it was, and basically had to persuade him to play it; then he loved it. It was just stupid gamers being stupid gamers.
I didn’t know anything about these games and I played the first one and second one back to back recently and it was one of the most intense gaming experiences of my life, don’t know why people hate it cause I wish I could replay them again for the first time nothing quite like it I’m glad other ppl feel the same way.
No, that’s Bugsnacks, a completely different game, because GTA V is about a journalist that goes to an island where food people eat eachother, and Bugsnacks is about a cold-blooded killer who murders everyone in Los Santos
Bruh, there already was a GTA V 2. We got GTA V for the PS3 and Xbox 360, we got GTA V 2 for the PS4 and Xbox One, baby, we even already had GTA V 3 for PC, and you're asking for GTA V 2 when not only is it already out, we even have GTA V 3 and they've announced GTA V 4 for PS5? What the fuck?
I love how Dunkey suggesting that people should actually play a game first before passing judgement on it was a controversial take. You’re seeing exactly the same thing happen with The Last of Us TV show, albeit not as intense.

@@nubsmcgee Anytime someone brings up this point I always wonder if they ever take into account what occurs BEFORE they enter the house with Abby’s crew. Because it seems to me it’s always (conveniently) ignored. People act like in the house, surrounded by Abby’s crew, is the first time they give their names. It isn’t. Joel and Tommy rescue Abby. Abby works alongside them to help fight off numerous infected. They’re stuck in a dire situation in desperate need of escape. Tommy then proceeds to tell her their names and ask for hers. Do you not think, all things considered, that this is a situation in which it’s acceptable and even useful to know each other’s names? Fighting alongside someone in a fight or die situation is a pretty quick way to gain each other’s trust. At least to a name knowing level I’d say. It’s only AFTER this that she suggests going to the house where her crew are. If Joel and Tommy suddenly decide to lie about their names whilst there then Abby would have called them out.
@@CharlieBrown20XD6don’t argue with this moron. Clearly no one can change his opinion because to him it’s just not about hating the game anymore (if you know what I mean). He’s probably a teen who thinks r/shitpost is a comedic masterpiece.

This comment section has just turned into post-modern meta comedy where I cant tell if ANYONE is being serious. Even the hate comments read like sarcasm. This is truely the height of the game critic industry.
I never thought Dunkey's reviews were meant to be taken seriously. Like I actually thought all of his videos were tongue in cheek/satire. Am I wrong? Do other people take them seriously? I'm so confused.
Yea, it’s very obvious that he’s just trying to get controversy for a follow-up video. It feels very evident from these past few dunkviews. A game that’s super popular and getting a lot praise: 1/5. A game that a majority of people unanimously hate: 4/5.
It kinda just makes me laugh that Naughty dog couldn’t afford to kill Joel with baseball. Damn, first they couldn’t afford Donkey Kong, then they couldn’t afford The Cheesecake Factory, Now they can’t afford baseball?

People call the game shit but it's basically the first game: main character losses someone they're very attached to, losses all emotion, pushes everyone close to them away, goes on a mission, and at the end changes their mind about actually finishing the mission. The only difference is the reason they change their mind
yeah killing nearly the whole world an, killing I don't know maby half or whole side characters of the game to just forget about it? (quick switch to winston!!)
I feel like that’s an important difference 😂 I like the game, but I still feel like it doesn’t properly explain to the player why she doesn’t kill Abby, or foreshadow her choice. It still feels kind of out of nowhere, with everything pushing her to that place.
@@hectorrodriguezgonzalez8938 lol I don’t hate the ending for what it did, I don’t hate them killing joel(I think that scene was done perfectly) but I do think they needed to foreshadow things more. Too much of it felt like it came out of nowhere, that even if they have it written in some book as lore, it doesn’t translate to the audience. Plus the cut levels show what they wanted to add, which would have foreshadowed it a lot better(especially the boar scene)
Spoiler for tlou2, at the end of the game, Joel reveals that he was a giraffe the whole time. Not just any giraffe, but the almighty giraffe Kanye West
Dunkey I beat the remastered version of this game today so I can finally watch the video. I think when you say Abby is like Joel in her adventure, it really nails what makes the game work. The idea of tearing down the players preconceptions of who is good or bad even when the underlying groundwork is the same really shines thru. Great video
Guys there’s actually a hidden ending where you unlock a feature that allows you play the entire game as Will Ferrell. In order to unlock this ending you must go into the Cheesecake Factory and ask the waiter for the “Ferrell Surprise.” Don’t let the developers know I told you this.
It's also way fucking awesome. - This game will only age like fine wine once all the whiners drop off and more people pick it up. It's not "the lesser sequel", it's an awesome sequel, much like "Uncharted 2" or something. And in turn, thát game was like the "Dark Knight" to its first part. - So yea, I'd argue "Part II" is like 'The Dark Knight', which definitely isn't perfect either. - I just get chills every time I think back of the game I spent nearly FIFTY hours with. - I also get nauseated, because damn is it dark and depressing. It makes the first game look cute. - But that also means that it made an impact. I will add that it was overly praised in the awards world and whatnot... Or was it, I'm not so sure. - I just mean that it seemed like they were "overrating" it, while, at least for the VGAs, the audience votes went to 'Ghost of Tsushima'. - But I think "TLoU2" will stand the test of time more because of its story and unique approach. -'Ghost of Tsushima' just works because it's refreshing, received like "a better Assassin's Creed", with fun gameplay and a great world to go around it. Though, I haven't seen much praise for the story. "TLoU2" gives you much more to think about, and many people don't appreciate it... yet.
I remember when I first hopped on the hate train because everybody else was doing it and I wanted to try and fit in. I still have never played the game but I can be extremely sure that the hate I aimed towards the game is entirely unjustified and was only because "the game has lesbians in it so it must be SJW garbage made to please people"... "Haha Revenge Bad the videogame everyone knows revenge is bad what a stupid trite message" "WTF WHY DIDN'T YOU GET TO KILL ABBY. KILL HER KILL HER WTF WHY ISN'T SHE GETTING HER REVENGE"
Noticed that too! In his dunkview he was impressed, in the best of 2018 he said it was genius, now he praised it throughout the video. Maybe the tedium of the climbing is wearing off, I find that after I haven't played a game for a while I kinda remember mostly the good parts.
i recently finally played the game. a couple years ago I heard all the leaks and even watched people play disjointed parts of it. it never really gripped me watching others play. i had no idea if it was good or not but since EVERYONE was saying it was terrible, I figured that when I played it I would for sure find *something* about it that left a sour taste in my mouth. Instead, I left it wondering how everyone could possibly hate something like this. It was so much fun. I can't stop wanting to play it all over again. The story has imprinted on me. I genuinely loved the direction the story took and found it so compelling. I spent the whole time of ellie's 3 days waiting for the quick switch to abby since everyone acted like you barely were allowed to play as ellie. but by the time ellie's portion was nearing its end, I was genuinely thinking 'man I would really like to play as abby now, this ellie section has been LONG'. and it wasn't until abby's section that I really struggled to put the game down. i was craving to play every moment that I was away from my ps4. her story was new, refreshing, engaging, and I loved learning about her side of the story and lev. the seraphites were fun and interesting to fight. i dunno man. abby's playstyle was really great too. i was so shocked when she could go toe to toe w clickers fr like WHAT. also, i really liked the ending. it was just GOOD. i was incredibly baffled after finishing. I'm a big fan of this game.
@jackjohn4156 What plot convieniences and plot armor? Also saying "revenge is bad" removes every single bit of building the game does throughout the story and removes the entire second act's Seraphite vs Wolves thing you get to experience and how it changes and affects the character you play as. I'm mentioning this because not a lot of people focus on it, even though it was the highlight of Abby's part...

I remember people shitting on this game, people saying its the worst sequel ever made, which made me aswell to shit on the game. I recently got a ps5 and checked it out myself, This game is amazing. I learnt my lesson, Never say negative about a game without playing it.
I recently finished both games for the first time, and part 2 imo was utter trash. The gameplay was good, but why care for the gameplay when the story sucks. They killed off the main character 1/4 into the game, then you spend the next 1/4 of the game hunting down the person who did it to get revenge, killing everyone who knew her or trying to extract information from them. Finally when you hit the climax and confront Abby, you are forced to spend the next 8-10 hours 1/2 of the game playing her boring ass backstory and naughty dog forces you to try empathize with a character who just killed the main protagonist (who you spent a previous 20 ish hours playing as in the first game). The dumbest thing is you don't even get revenge because "revenge is bad" even though you kill countless people in the second game. They never needed to make a sequel and this game is a stain on a good title
@@Sniped137 not like Joel was good person anyways, if you look at the both games properly Joel’s point of view and Abby’s point of view was similar. @@mrinvincible6849 but you don't play as Joel in the second game much, it's much more about Ellie's story. Also the fact Abby hunts down Joel, brutally kills him Infront of Ellie then is like well dont come after us because we let you live is completely idiotic and terrible writing, especially since Abby is surprised when she does this like wtf is this writing. The biggest problem is how the characters seem to never made a normal decision and constantly change their mind for completely random reasons which makes it seem the only reason it was that way is so that it fits with the story. For example, Ellie gives up on the idea of revenge, then settles down with Dina and sudden Tommy shows up, convinces her to leave everything behind and go for revenge. She finally tracks down Abby, frees her from a prison camp, but then does a 180, fights her in a bloody battle, then right before drowning her, she lets her live????
milo rexhar no Ellie thought back to Joel and how he really wouldn’t want her doing this and how she’d never get him back anyways and I think since she just got her fingers bitten off and the scene she thinks back to Joel’s playing guitar she realizes one of the last things she shared with Joel was kinder wrecked because of her quest for revenge
This is so stupid considering Joel and Tommy saved Abby and Joel got killed because of it. Then Abby deciding to spare Ellie twice led to all her friends getting killed.
@@milorexhar6621 not really, if Abby had just killed Tommy and Ellie at the beginning of the game, her friends would still be alive and she wouldn't need saving in the first place.
