What's weird to me is every time I see it, I can never follow the ball off Joe Carter's bat to see the arc of the ball. It's very tough to see for some reason. I think it was more of a low line drive so it probably took a lower trajectory but that's like one of my favorite parts of seeing any homerun. Yet with that one I can never quite find it. I guess that makes it unique.

I live in Seattle (but I've been a Tigers fan for my whole life), so I've seen Mariners fans, where they have no pennants, let alone World Series wins. I realize I might be kinda spoiled, but you can understand pain in the Fall Classic.

Actually the 1908 cubs had the best record of 116-36 (there were less games). And yeah, that's great. But I ask people about that and that brings up a lot of sadness in them when they see that they go so far and still fall. It makes them feel like the Mariners will never win.

Got the wild card then won the world series. HUGE come up. The only team I would ever "bash" on is the cubs and that only goes as far as pity for the fans because their team cant win. utastud09

Getting in on the last day of the regular season by winning AND getting help from Atlanta losing. Getting down to the last strike TWICE in one game in back to back innings. That comeback was a series (albeit down 3-0 in games), ours was the final stretch of the season all the way to the world series. It's hard to compare the two in a rational way anyway because that comeback included the amazing bloody sock game, which was one hell of an effort by schilling.
