I know this video will not please all of you, so I apologize. I did not include Schilling's bloody sock because I couldn't find a short 10 second clip that symbolized his entire performace. Please let me know if there any other moments that I should have included.

The 2005 White Sox had some amazing moments. Uribe's catch for out #2 in game 4, Aj reaching 1b on the dropped third strike, Konerko grand slam, blum hr and getting out of bases loaded and no outs up one against Boston + Pods walk off in WS game two. How could none of them be on this list?

I was in Yankee stadium for the last 1 on that list (Leyritz's 13th inning walk-off) in the '95 ALDS. While that HR gave birth to one of the greatest dynasties in team history we had no way of knowing that at the time. There hadn't been a bigger postseason HR hit in that place since Reggie hit 3 in '77 to win the WS and that bomb effectively exorcised 18 years of frustration and the crowd went berserk. The building literally shook, people were dancing in the. Streets and it was easily the most exciting thing I'd ever witnessed in that stadium up to that point.
@redonsundays
@redonsundays 9 лет назад
Oh no, not 18 years. What about Damon hitting 2 home runs in game 7 2004 at Yankee Stadium to lead the Red Sox to victory and then their first WS victory in 85 years? Or are you still trying to block that one out? I assure you that there was much more celebration after that than your precious game 2 homer.
@redonsundays
@redonsundays 9 лет назад
Ortiz's 2 walk offs in one day as well as a clutch homer, a grand slam in game 7? You're just another typical "well we've won 27" Yankees fan that's trying to erase a year from their memory.
@TheJMSESQ
@TheJMSESQ 9 лет назад
Co Ah I was just sharing my experience dude. i'm a yankee fan, you expect me to clamor about something great that happened for your favorite team? really?? and i'm not trying to erase anything. you guys finally beat us. it was bound to happen so good for you and the sox but it really didn't phase me one way or the other. so what if we're the only team to blow a 3-0 series lead? I've got plenty of great memories to balance out that bad one

Co Ah if i recall Damon hit the slam ortiz got a two run homer
@TheJMSESQ
@TheJMSESQ 9 лет назад
Charles Lathrop Damon's all square w/us as he was prolly the most valuable player during the Yankee's 2009 WS run. Matsui got the WS MVP award and I can't argue w/that either but Damon was just as deserving. I was sorry they didn't re-sign him. He wasn't the beast he was for Boston but IMO you need cagy, high BB IQ guys like that on any championship team. they can make 1 or 2 heads up plays during the post season that can make all the difference. And yes, he did hit the GS in game 7 of the '04 ALCS.

Some of them had the radio call. Brosius HR in 2001 WS gm 5 had Gary Thorne's MLB international (tv outside of the US) call instead of FOX. Luis Gonzalez single had the Diamondbacks' radio call over FOX also. Chris Burke's walk off HR in the 18th had the Astros radio call (I believe Milo Hamilton?) over the ESPN broadcast. Joe Carter's walk off HR had I guess the Toronto radio call, not sure but it wasn't the CBS broadcast with Sean McDonough. Still a very solid reel and yeah the music was fine.

Joe Buck took that famous quote from his dad. And that is awesome
@billny33
@billny33 7 лет назад
It's an homage to father Jack Buck. The first image of the highlight reel is Kirby Puckett's walk off HR in game 6 of the 1991 WS where Jack said "And we'll see ya...tomorrow night!" That call became famous and Buck's call in both of those instances you mentioned was a nod to his dad's impact on baseball announcing and home run calls. Sadly Jack had passed away by then.

Good video, but just off my head, I can think of so many great moments missing here. Bartman, of course. Better yet, the entire Cubs collapse in the 8th inning of Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS. Dave Roberts' steals. Jeter's November walk-off. Pudge holding onto the throw at the plate after being tackled by JT Snow to end the 2003 NLDS. Pujols' monster HR off Lidge. David Price coming in in Game 7 the 2008 ALCS as a baby-faced rookie to put away the defending WS champion Red Sox. Livan Hernandez's 15 K game against the Braves in the '97 NLCS. Game 6 of the 2002 World Series. Leyritz off Wohlers. The 9th inning ending in Game 5 of the 2012 Cards-Nats NLDS. The walk-off walk in the '99 NLCS. Robin Ventura sending the '99 NLCS to a Game 6 after the Mets had gone down 3-0 with a walk-off HR. Will Middlebrooks accidentally costing the Red Sox Game 3 of last years' World Series with the interference call.

Jimmy Rollins hits a walk off triple in game 4 of the '09 NLCS in a game the Phillies were losing. I appreciate everything in this video. But the fact is, very few of them were walk off hits where the team was losing going in the inning or AB. Not to mention he did it with 2 outs. So Game 4 of the '09 NLCS, Jimmy Rollins hits a game winning triple with his team down 4-3 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. The only Phillies highlight is the no hitter by Roy Halladay.

My top 5 best playoff moments of last 25 years (in order); 5. The final out of the '04 world series giving Boston and their long suffering fans the ultimate prize. 4. Luis Gonzalez game winning single in the '01 World Series. The one time I was actually rooting for New York for obvious reasons. One of the most emotional series ever. 3. Jim Leyritz 8th inning homerun in game 4 of '96 series. He saved the series for the Yankees and reignited the dynasty 2. Joe Carter homerun, caps great comeback in game 6 in the most dramatic fashion giving the Blue Jays back-to-back championships 1. Gene Larkin game winning hit ending the best World Series ever

So did New York. At this time in the past 25 years, they have had 5 championships 1 other pennant, and 3 other ALCS appearances. Boston has, what, 3 chips, no other pennants, and 3 other ALCS appearances.....the Yankees clearly have more great/clutch/memorable postseason moments in that time span (and throughout history but that's more obvious). Think of it as a sample size. More of a winning team, more winning moments.
