IGFTW Ep. 44 is part 3 of 4 in a series talking about Namco's Valkyrie games, this video is the 2nd in a pair of videos covering The Legend of Valkyrie. The first was all about the arcade original, and this one explores the ports! If you waited four years for this video, my apologies, it's probably not worth the wait, but I hope you'll enjoy it regardless.

Gameplay was captured using the Elgato Game Capture HD from both an MSX2 and MSX Turbo R unit, upscaled via a Framemeister, and video/audio was edited using Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite, Version 12.
Music used in this video comes from the featured games as well as several volumes of the Namco Museum titles on PS1. The final song is Valkyrie's theme from Project X Zone 2.

People sleep on this era of Namco and in general but especially their world class shooter prowess. Phelios for example; nice enough Mega Drive game.. absolute monster of an arcade original.

Didn't know this was on the Namco Museum collection. Probably should have got them back in the PS1 days when anything 2D was dirt cheap on that console. Glad to see you found your way back to the Legend of Valkyrie series. Was a pleasure to watch as always.

I really do wish all of the digital content available for the PS3 was compatible with the PS4... Sony really should put more of an emphasis on backwards compatibility. Ppl DO care about it!

I was watching that seek bar thinking "there's no way he'll have enough time to talk about Anthology 2..." Of course I had to be right. Thanks for giving Valkyrie some love, classic game girls like Valkyrie are very easy to become enamored with.

While the PS1 version is almost arcade accurate, there is just something about that PCE port that makes me enjoy it more. The fan translation patch for it it fantastic. This port should have been released on the Turbografx back in the day.

I just grabbed VS. The Adventure Of Valkyrie : The Legend of the Key of Time for the Switch on a whim, not knowing a thing about it. I'm glad to see it has so much history!

It's here! Thank you for doing this series. Not only has it been very entertaining, but it's also introduced me to Valkyrie, now one of my all-time favorite video game characters due to having a great design and because I've always had a soft spot for Valkyries lol. I'm looking forward to the next video in the series, as well as any other videos you may do, and if you'd like any recommendations for other videos, I'd love for you to talk some more about "Magical Pop'n". It's become one of my favorite games of all-time, and I know it holds a special place in your heart as well. Keep up the great work, and God bless :)

I still have my copy of Namco Museum Vol. 5 from middle school. I enjoyed playing Valkyrie and Metro Cross on it the most. I ended up looking for the other games and buying some of them in the PS store.

I like recreating old boardgames and I`ve been looking for the Valkyrie game for quite a while. I used to love the Snes Whirlo game and to see the character in the arcade version is awesome.
