I love the sound, the look and the quality/reliability but it needs to be a bit quicker to be a must buy. That said, I wouldn't trade the NA V8 for a V6 Turbo or hybrid powertrain to get the speed. This will be one we miss when it's gone.

These cars definitely have a presence in person. I remember seeing one in downtown & it was turning heads. Even the stock exhaust sounds like a exotic V8

Recently saw one as well on a downtown street parked alongside a new 911 gts and a new Aston Martin vantage. Of course my friends and I were drawn immediately to the Porsche and Aston due to their price but we were surprised at how well the LC500 held its own against these much more expensive cars. Definitely agree with you, I felt it held more street presence than the Aston and the 911.

I've driven many German high performance cars and think that the LC500 is one of the most desirable cars on the market now. It's not going to beat many cars in a straight line but besides that, it excels in everything else. Ironically the sound and look of the car makes it so much more of a visceral experience than German cars. It makes the likes of BMW and amgs feel like appliances. The LC500 is an unique vehicle and shouldn't be judge without actually experiencing it.

But you can get 90% of that (and MUCH better roadcourse performance) from a ZL1 for half the price, albeit interior isn't nearly as nice. Brand snobbery is awful

The LFA was a good looking, elegant, purist car. Lexus largely lost it's way with the predator grill, Jeremy Clarkston nailed it. GT3 is my current favorite in the

@@fzr1000981 can’t argue with the ZL1’s performance … people drive certain cars for different reasons. A Lamborghini countach is slower than most cars today, but I would still drive that clunky old thing than a Tesla model S plaid. The LC500 is a refined car that looks special in person. When you drive it, you won’t care it’s 1 second slower 0-60. I have a Tesla model S performance … but it’s not a fun car to drive. The LC500 on the other hand is a wolf in sheep’s clothes

And add to that, that it's semi-rare. I live in the 5th largest city in the US and I don't see them very often. I see Ferraris and Lamborghinis way more often. I like that.

That's why i purchased a Jag F Type R last year which is a competitor to the LC500. 470 hp and 398 lb/ft of torque is not enough for the 4300 lbs Lexus at that close to 100 k price point. With the Jag F Type R you get 550 hp and 505 lb/ft of torque and its supercharged. If you ever felt the need for more hp just a pulley and tune is 90-100 hp.

Beautiful review of the LC 500 seeing the LC500 as a sports car is something that you shouldn't do because the LC 500 is a luxury grand tourer and when you see it from that prospective it will amaze you even more

Great video. People need to buy what they want and what they like. I have this car (2021 LC 500 Convertible) and the 2020 GS F. I love Toyota V8s (also have a 2019 Tundra as well with the 5.7L V8). Proud Toytota Fanboy all day long!

That is a stunning car, I'm in the market for one right now. It looks like it has the same Vossen Semi-Forged as my Cayenne GTS. Which is another NA V8 which may not be the outright fastest, but sounds and drives so fantastically with the NA power plant that I could care a less at this point. LC500 would be a worthy companion. A special car.

I drove one of these today!!! For driving on the street, I felt like it had more power than I could even use. I kept wanting to really give it a go, but unless I wanted to break a bunch of laws or drive dangerously, I was limited to maybe half of what it was capable of. It's very luxurious and so easy to drive. I loved how the steering felt, but the brakes were a bit weird to me, probably just takes some getting used to. I'm hoping to buy a convertible one in a month or so. It was too much fun!

I absolutely love how lexus has there hard limiter set up. I really hate the soft limiter on my 335i, although I understand why its in place. I would actually take a slower is350 f sport over my f30 due to the V6 sound and that amazing rev limiter. Im getting an Rc-f in 2022. Awesome video bro the quality is top notch.

I had a chance to see this in person, up close while I was studying in Japan. Absolutely gorgeous. Many Japanese people were also standing around the car to admire how awesome and alien-like it looked. Since then, the LC500 has been my dream car.

Man, loved your video, and love your channel. Keep up the awesome production quality, I def need to take some pointers off of you! As for the LC - you're pretty much on point with your feedback. Not the fastest but definitely up there in driving feel, design and sound. As an owner (not being biased), build quality is among the top with other GT's (AM DB11, BMW 8, MB S Coupe) and also makes you feel special due to its design being unique and the vehicle being rare. I'm just curious which catback that was - I know it wasn't an Armytrix, since I have one, and the valves can be opened or closed. You were saying that you couldn't close them. And if I'm not wrong, I think i know who the owner of that flare yellow LC is - MG? Anyways, great video! Keep the good content coming!

Loved the whole video except the part with the shifter complaints, its pretty straightforward on the diagram and in practice, Left is Neutral, Left+Down is Drive, and to go into manual mode you just go Down only while already in drive

Honestly I love this car. It’s probably in my opinion the best sounding car for under $100k, at least until the C8 ZO6 comes out. I also think it’s the best looking for under $100k. While it sounds good it might be a little quiet for you, but an exhaust upgrade will make it sound fantastic like this video. You could also probably tune it to sacrifice comfort and reliability for more performance, if you really want to. I love the looks stock, with minor upgrades like this, and going all out with a crazy wide body kit there is for it. I thinks underappreciated for what it is, but so was the lfa the first few years

Sub'd! This is a different take on car reviews if you pick up on the small details. Like explaining the moment of getting the car back in drive or a subtle explanation of why you didn't feel like going into Eco mode just yet. Fun stuff like that, but yet its all captured AFTER the driving, but yet seems like you're doing the review AT THAT TIME. Its hard to explain, but a welcoming fresh perspective that we don't usually see!

Liked & new subscriber. Great cinematography, voiceover & videography. Love, love, love the LC 500; however, I would never pull the trigger over other cars in same or similar price categories. It’s too damn heavy, slow & lacking in top performance for my tastes. At the same time, it’s a perfect vehicle for a normal driving, where you’re not pushing 8 & 9/10th’s of the vehicles capability. The inspiration series is drop dead gorgeous & the interior, besides navigation & functionality are top tier. Fantastic car & setup, just not for me. Looking forward to seeing your other videos & content. Best.

The LC500 may not take the fight to the germans in the traditional sense, especially with performance, but Lexus never went toe to toe with them. Even the LFA can be easily outrun in a straight line by cars that cost 1/5 as much, but that was never the point. The point was the craftsmanship. The quality and the reliability is the pinacle, and the second you get in the car and see those beautiful door handles that ethos is reinforced. In my mind it's more of a boomer cruiser for sure, more in line with a Merc SL, but that's not a bad thing. Like you said in person the car is drop dead sexy and has a stunning road presence. Driving it is like seeing the Rock in a tux, it feels like a tank at first but is surprisingly agile for what it is. And then there is the tremendous exhaust note. The acceleration is, enough, because you don't buy a car like this to drive 10/10ths. You throw the golf clubs in the back, and drop it at the valet for dinner and listen to the exhaust on the way home. In that regard, Lexus has succeeded. Now if only they could convince Toyota to stop putting spoilers on Camrys...
