One of my friends plays RDM and when helping her do an 8man duty, you suddenly hear a giggle, followed by the screen getting filled with pretty colors.
Here's a tip for all you newbies out there: Play with maxed out light and skill effects like me, don't turn them off. That way, when a RDM uses LB3, you'll already be used to being blind and will be able to adapt. Either that or you'll go blind anyways, it's a perfect strategy!
Pro tip: You can use rescue on someone during their LB3 if they messed up If they have already finished the cast and are stuck in the animation it will still go off. However, if they are still mid-cast it will be interrupted I think. Point is, you can pull them to a safe spot and save them!
@@starofaetherius To save or troll? I’m a healer main, both answers are correct when its a friend 😂 I wasnt a fast AOE dodger so I had a friend drag me into AOE’s… I hated it but it worked! 😅
@@starofaetherius when I know they won't get it off before they're dead (God everyone greed for the lb3 even if it means their own death)... I yoink them to a safe spot but with friends... I remember that one moment in Aglaia: my SAM friend: "I got it!" (casting lb3 in safe spot) me: "DO YOU NOW?" (rescue) he was SOO mad! We are still friends and are laughing at it XD
It's been years since I last played FF14 but I'll never forget my tank friend dragging the boss on top of me when I tried to use limit break. ...over and over.
I once did a hard Ifrit raid, there was no Melee DPS and we had LB3, "why not" I thought, a few seconds after I've started casting an AOE appeared beneath me but I said "fuck it, I'll take it, ifrit's is almost dead anyways", my bard died right after finishing his cast, totally worth it
"Throwing flashbang!" hit WAAAY harder than it needed to! Just this past weekend I got Ifrit in trials roulettes and the Red Mage LB3'd just as Ifrit was doing the attack where he creates "clones" that rush forward, and the Red Mage limit break flashbanged the entire group so no one could see where Ifrit's copies were and over half the team died because we couldn't see well enough to dodge ^^'
Honestly, I feel summoner's LB is worse in terms of flashyness than red mage because the explosions make it completely impossible to see anything, unlike red mage where it's still possible to see some stuff
The worst is when a DPS uses it above 20% of the boss’s health and we really could’ve used it when the party is about to wipe. Totally not speaking from recent Anabaseios experiences 😭
As a Red Mage, I only use Verflashbang when the other DPSes should LB but none of them do. It's a teaching tool: one Reaper I know went from never using LB3 to using it just to stop me. 😇
Ahem so I recently used LB3 in the latest ex (as a healer), then I got animation locked, as one does, but I thought I was safe. The next moment, meteors were raining from the sky as dozens of purple arrows emanated from my being. When I was finally freed from the prison of my team's making (stop dying pls), I made a mad dash to the center, i was but a step away and-- we all died :c I didnt make it.
Since I mainly play tank, I only see my LB once in Purple moon. I'm not even sure I have a LB at this point. But one time a did a raid with nothing but Red mages and summoners as are DPS. I went blind that day.
ah yep, whenever LB3 gets charged istg its an anxiety race of "who the eff is gonna cast it at the worst possible time" ......... if the tank doesn't decide to be funny and steal it, ofc
Right then, I’m gonna go look up a list of limit breaks and rate them by the number of flashing lights they have. That way I’ll be able to be more cognizant when I inevitably hurt my teammate’s eyes.
I remember a Red Mage flashbanging the entire party during multiple AoE mechanics only to result in dead bodies and a eventual wipe after they accidentally flipped out of the arena when they meant to Raise the healers instead
@@SCP_Gate-Guardian In normal dungeons I don't need it. Technically you don't need any LB for those either, but it can help make it go a bit faster. Like let's go, use it or lose it!
You should absolutely pick yer moment. And as a heads up to the DPS that moment is not when the boss is at 0.5% health. Throw that shit early, you're not gonna improve your K/D/A.
XD this was me in thok ast thok, boss was so close to dying at the end and i decided to lb2 before his attack could go off but idk if it was terrible timing or if he was immune but ended up getting yeeted off platform instead making me look pathetic😂 lb did also go off but boss took no damage... 💀
I used to dislike limit breaks because they felt cheap. Then I made my first attempt at Fun Scaith. Now I'm the one reminding people to use LB. I should make a macro so I can click a button instead of taking time to type in party chat.
Could be worse, at least they didn't kill someone by breaking the stone prison in a bump aoe right when said aoe's cast is finished "Hey you're free ... Huh, how did you die ? ..." ... No it never happened to me, no it wasn't due to someone with me on discord, no I didn't express my feelings towards that a bit too strongly, not at all ...
ah the number of times I died right after releasing the limit break 🤣. but I only died because of melee, I'm BRD, I shouldn't be doing LB on single targets, that's your job melee DPS, but you insist on waiting until the boss is at 0.01% HP 😔 🙃
One of these days, I’ll create a macro for redmage LB3 that’s just shouts to the group “throwing flash bang” I play RDM, not for the damage or extra support, but to troll with the LB3
