New update in the chilly month of december? Gimme, gimme.

Who would've thought that the most heartwarming dev team would be for a game where you're trying to not freeze and starve.

This is such a good game and good developers that there is not a single dislike in the video. I'm glad I noticed this game once!

I remember years ago, when I played this game in alpha... I was so young. In my 8th run on Stalker, the hardest mode at the time, I ended up surviving for 104 days... I travelled through Mystery Lake, Coastal Highway, slowly improvising and adapting to the rhythms of the new world... give the wolves a wide berth, NEVER carry raw meat if you can cook it, wait for the deer to stop and look around, before you fire the arrow... I felt like I was a part of the ecosystem, now. I was determined to get to Desolation point, and from there, the ultimate challenge... Timberwolf Mountain. I forged on, and on, repairing, fishing, creating, questing... until on the hundred-and-fourth day, I was attacked by a pair of wolves, making my way through Old Island Connector, and just like that... it was over. It was so... anticlimactic, like my story wasn't supposed to finish there, but the world just didn't care. That was just what happened, and now it was over. It felt so real. Too real. I tried starting again... and it felt wrong. I felt as if I wasn't supposed to be there... because I had died. I was suddenly transported, and expected to start over in a new body, in a new place, and I thought "No... this isn't me. I'm dead." Everything that I had, everythin I knew, everything I was... he died of shock and blood loss, screaming and clutching his bleeding neck, between a rock wall and a snow-covered abandoned car, on that old, broken highway. I took almost a year off playing, after that. No game had ever made me feel like that before. I don't know if another one ever will. What I do know is that this game is a triumph. Thank you, Hinterland.

Getting the hint that this region involves a wild fire caused from a mine or a mine fire like Centralia.

Good thing Will ended up with the whiskey in the hangar or he'd have a problem with that bridge.

Something that would really add to the immersion with this game is adding a full body in first person or at least gloves on the hands

I feel like the game would benefit from a cooking addition, like the ability to add different ingredients together.

Great move on the Darkwalker challenge. My only "complaint" with it was that there was no win condition, so after I did it once I had no reason to try again. This is fantastic!

Although I only got this game early this year, I've been watching lots of playthroughs since it was in early access and its just incredible to see how far it's come. I found myself watching your 2014 vs 2016 video and it's still came soo much further! It's amazing to see a game with this much detail, and although the fan base may not be huge, you're still giving us legendary perfect updates. So thank you hinterland. Thank you! Edit: any updates on when the store will open back up? I really want to grab a mug, and sit with come hot chocolate and play some long dark

I havent played in two years but i religiously watch all your videos. Cant believe there are now 5 regions i never played. Hope you never stop updating your game. PHENOMENAL WORK!!!!!

You could hear the eerie howl sound of the wind outside and the windows vibrate to it. I drank my tisane before warm it up in front of the fireplace and went to sleep. My character said '' looks like I made through another night '' I love that game.

Hinterland, from someone who has been playing the long dark for almost 2 years now, thank you for spoiling me and the rest of the community with content! One challenge I love with this update is there is a few areas of Ash Canyon where there are bear crossings that you have to go through. I get chills and thrills every time I go through them! Can't wait to see what is to come in the future! Keep up the amazing work!

Good good work guys! The Long Dark is unique in its style and I always loved eveything about it. It is best survival game out there! The only thing missing to this game to make it a lifetime classic would be to be able to move furniture around and beeing able to move all objects in the game. It would be SO awesome to be able to remove the trash from our cabins and customize our rooms to our taste and play style. Again, great work and enjoy the holidays !

Hinterland is a shining beacon in game development and an example for other devs to follow. Not only do we get new content regularly but its QUALITY content and new regions are always welcome. They actually listen to the community, "oh you liked Darkstalker? Ok, have it permanently". I know they will never get the recognition of Ubisoft or EA but Hinterland please know that your fans see what you do and this kind of relationship forms a lot of trust with your playerbase. Even the narrator of the video comes across as heartfelt and sincere. Bravo.

Does this include bugs fixed like weird hit box of item where you need place cursor on the edge to pick it up, or invincible wall at cockpit at Pleasant Valley? In my current sandbox, there is a fotograph in cockpit area but i cant reach it. Well kinda annoying but at the same time not really important too. Thanks for the new region btw, im just finished gathering all resources at Timberwolf Mountain(stalker mode) and im guess i need to go up there again haha

I really appreciate the fact that The Long Dark is a completed game and doesn’t NEED more updates, but Hinterland continues to release new content for us and it’s always well thought out. They’re not just adding things for the sake of adding them; they speak to the players and see what they want. Plus add a couple surprises in the mix. I didn’t start playing until recently (when it came to the Switch) but I definitely can say this is one of my favorite games ever.
