My only issue of using the M1A with that stock and setup is that it's tall and heavy. Also am I the only one who wants there to be a wood stock for the M1A and M700?
@@tunga9966 It's just funny that the reason you don't like the M1A is because it's tall and heavy, but with a wood stock it might even be heavier Though the classic wood stock FAL did look cool. No one would want to run it though, theres a reason wood got replaced on guns, plastic and fiberglass are both stronger and lighter.
@@knightshousegames Tall an heavy with those mods on. But just a wood stock. With no foregrip scope or anything modular. Just plane old wood stock with iron sights. It wouldn't weigh that much compered to a fully kited out one .
I find it interesting that in the game, they don't have the actual M14, which is full auto. They have the M1A and the SA-58, which are both civilian variants of the M14 and the FAL respectively, and yet the SA-58 is full auto, even though I'm PRETTY sure thats not the case in real life. It would be cool if you could mod the M1A and SA-58 with their military internals to turn them into functional full auto guns at the workbench, even though most people probably don't want to shoot .308 in full auto, it might be interesting for low recoil builds like this
I was investigating all the 7.62 guns a few days ago and I think it's fine as is. The SA-58 and MDR suffer on stats but have full auto, while the SR-25 and RSASS have better stats (at a given price point) but semi only. If the M1A had full auto it'd make all the other 7.62 guns obsolete unless they seriously upped the cost.
Regarding weight and ergo, it would be awesome if there was a chart or graph that shows the breakpoints for swinging animations during ads. Faster ads is fine and all, but having that swing is like fat rolling in Dark Souls for me. I’d take any other gun over that, so it’d be awesome to know what guns naturally or easily fall in or out of that range!
Yeah I haven't determined exactly what makes it do that yet. Weight has something to do with it, but it's also ergo centric as well - some combination that causes the overswing on ADS
The RSASS has better hidden stats, I think it’s lower recoil than the M1A Edit: At least with my builds which are similar and try to balance recoil and ergo, the RSASS has better effective vertical recoil but the M1A has better horizontal recoil. @@Gigabeef According to the spreadsheet linked by this video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TY4cfnZTkMg.html) the RSASS has better convergence than the M1A and slightly worse camera recoil (which is only visual). Same spreadsheet from taeyeoff's MCX video which you commented under. My build for the RSASS has 51 vertical recoil vs. 50 with the M1A, the better convergence on the RSASS helps with the vertical recoil giving it the edge (I'm using MOE stocks and the SE5 foregrip, with the best recoil suppressor + muzzle brake combo). You are correct that the horizontal recoil of the M1A is lower than the RSASS. The M1A would be my choice if you’re going for typical CQC PvP because of the better horizontal recoil, but if I plan on using the DMR as an actual DMR, the lower effective vertical recoil of the RSASS makes for better follow up shots. TL;DR: RSASS has better hidden recoil stats which gives it an edge over the M1A in terms of effective vertical recoil (for certain builds at least). The M1A has better horizontal recoil though.
Oh sorry my bad you're quite right! I've been looking at the MDR and SCAR so had them on the brain with the 2.0 convergence - it matters a little less for semi but indeed you're right. It's just a shame you can use the 762 mdr etc in semi better than the RSASS on that basis
The thing is.. the m1 is perfectly good as is.. you really dont need to make a budget build for it. Get the Elcan setup with some sort of muzzle brake and go. It is less than 100k and it easilly takes on anything the game can throw at you
another way to get the sass m1a is on the flea market and there will mostly be a full 1 for around 100k roubles (give or take) but this was early to mid wipe i haven't been on recently so it could've changed.
I have a really bad case of Tarkov fatigue rn... I don´t have the will to play it because the wipe is right around the corner. But on the other hand i have really no fucking time to do all the shit again after the wipe
@@vHeartAndS0ul Even that doesn´t make it fun for me. Im just so tierd of doing everthing again and again in this game. I really really hope that the rumor of two individual instances (one where your progress is saved and one where the wipe in regular cyles) because the all the sweatters and annoying streamers would fuck of the the other while the normal working folks can enjoy the game at their pace.
Hey Gigabeef, what are your thoughts on the recoil change for this wipe, because for me i think they should revert back to the alpha recoil pattern when every gun was viable because there pretty much was low recoil universally, it represents realistic recoil irl so something there to think about. Just want to know your thoughts.
I like increasing recoil overall, but it needed to be more nuanced. Slapping a flat recoil + on every gun was a bit silly, because it wrecked the high RPM weapons and super buffed (relatively) low RPM and semi. Semi did need a buff to be fair, but the M4, HK etc are now just worse than the alternatives on price and performance, same with the VSS/VAL too
@@Gigabeef another thing i had forgotten to add was that in alpha days, back when recoil was wasn't meta centric and modding was semi cosmetic, the gun had inertia [inertia of the gun and arms; see the animations of sa-58] do you think they should bring back or even revamp the old mechanic? [Also sorry for sounding like a interviewer]
I didn't play in alpha to be fair, but it would be interesting to give ergo more meaning imo, and make the low ergo weapons handle worse than they do now

I mean, it's so long and the Character holds it so far away making hip fire really accurate and easy , there's no point really in aiming down sight , Unless the engagement is too far away for hip firing I love sass m1a build for this Reason
