Welcome to the world of Lemnos and its kehaghiades. This traditional land management system with its roots lost in time has allowed farmers to survive and be self-sufficient for centuries. The system has been named after the iconic “mandras” of Lemnos, complex farming structures which served the needs of the kehaghiades. Today, the system adapts to modern needs and allows the kehaghiades to envision a sustainable development for their island, with respect to the natural environment and the deep connection of its people with the land.
