Cool fact: Michigan and Ohio both claimed Toledo and the US didnt want them to actually start a small battle so they gave Michigan the upper peninsuala as a replacement. In the end, Ohio and Michigan fought and Wisconsin lost.

There is this mongolian tradition where a child learns their entire family tree all the way up to their great great grandfathers. This was so we could confidently avoid incest as that is considered as a very grave evil. This tradition still persists in our nomadic population but died out in urban areas with my generation.

Drew please do something about the very short lived goverment entity that was Država SHS (Country of Slovenians, Croats and Serbs) - and what it took to finally get out under imperial boots. Then just check how the name of entity changed (Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Clovenians) and how it transitioned to Yugoslavia. You'll understand so much more. (And there is a lot of comedic potential)

What made me a history nerd was my dad being a history nerd and just being surrounded by that. That and watching history channel as a kid as much as cartoons back when it was actually, you know, about history.
