1955RodHot I agree with you. I know who they are and just love them. I wish our radio stations up here in New Brunswick, Canada would play them. I think they went to Prince Edward Island last summer, but were rained out.

No one can describe the pain, hurt & sorrow when a spouse leaves for someone else unless they have been through it themselves. Remember this, no one stays young forever and as time goes by they will regret what they have done, and then it is too late. Time is a great healer.
I have listened to a million songs in my life and rarely do you find one where the tempo, words and singer fuse together so completely. "I Should Have Been True" is forever etched in my mind. Raul's voice just magnifies the deep pain and regret of a lost love. If all the music in the world were destroyed and I had just this song, I would be happy and content.

Superb! Not since the legendary Roy Orbison has there been a voice like this in country music. Raul Malo is right up there with the best. Some of the music arrangements are reminiscent of the Every Brothers, Elvis, Conway Twitty and others of the country music of the fifties and sixties.
Raul is so good!. But Elvis was exceptional, and he was not just country. And neither was Roy or the Everly brothers. Elvis did Soul, R & B, Rock n Roll, adult contemporary, love songs, gospel and even some borderline Opera. Please remember that and these great voices and talents.
Kim Bertram Yep, you are right, no one can sing as many songs and cover them the way Raul does, from Roy Orbison, Ernest Tubb "Waltz Across Texas." Johnny Cash, he doesn't imitate them, he does them sometimes, even better.
I do like his voice. But I also really like Morten Harket's voice. He's the lead singer of a-ha, remember? Take On Me? That band had so many other great songs.
I first heard the Mavericks moons ago on radio in Australia but they stopped playing Country Music, Always loved the way they play and sing, way better than the younger singer climbing the Country Music ladder. Happy to have found them again. the music is magic to my ears and no-one has a voice like Raul, everything unites together in every song they sing.
For anyone who has ever lost someone? This song reaches into the deepest parts of your soul. The Mavericks have been in a league of their own since day one. They continue today with that same exceptional performance live or in the studio and if you ever get a chance to hear them live they are truly the best of the best.

These folks have laid down a lot of great tracks. They have been a favorite of mine for an awful long time. This is Raul's keynote song, IMO. I can't recommend them enough. I'm surprised that the views are so low.
It is such a shame that these boys did not go farther than they did. They have such beautiful voices that just turn music into magic. They touch my soul with every song they sing. Keep the great work Guys. I love your music!!!!! :)
My Gosh Man ! This man has the smoothest voice I’ve EVER HEARD !!!!! So effortless in even his upper register notes ! I would LOVE to see these guys in concert ! I have loved them for years but recently rediscovered them here on RU-vid ! Prayers for Raul !
Great tune never heard this song I knew of the Mavericks , but this song haven’t heard played anywhere else well done to. Technology to be able to listen to some great songs on links
Saw them in concert about 20 years ago. They opened for Mary C Carpenter, who is why we were there. Never had heard of them!! I was SO blown away by Raul and when they finished.....I would have rather kept listening to them!!! I didn't want them to stop! It was an amazing concert, I went out and bought every CD they had out!!!!
I'm amazed at how much I love this band. Raul is such a awesome singer. Great stuff!!! It's now 2021 and still listening to this great band imho RAUL MALO has one of the best voices of any living Male artist out there today. Believe me if you listen to this band once you will fall in love with them. 🥰

In 2011 my ex and I drove all over Europe for three weeks....I had four Mavericks CD's and we listened to them all the way though our trip. Love, love, love this band!! Come back!!

My favorite part in the video is 2:26. It's where the song really starts to sound incredibly beautiful and the base player has this beautiful smile. ❤❤😍😘The violins are killin it!!! My wife and I chose to close New Orleans Jazz Fest 2019 with The Maverics at the Fais Do Do stage. I should Have Been True broke our hearts - one of the greatest performances we've ever seen.
