Three things jumped out at me: 1. The Mavs moved away from funneling to the bigs from the POA on defense -- basically told Luka and other perimeter players to cut off the drive. It was both more effective and as a bonus doesn't make Luka so goofy 2. Mavs offense improved: found a way to create better spacing for the ball-handler and role players made their shots 3. Mavs took better care of the ball
Even if they miraculously win game 5. They’d have to win 2 more and there is just no way that’s happening. It’s just not… let’s step back into reality.
@@1000Tees_Without porzingis the mavs matchup pretty well against the celtics its pretty hard to keep them out of the paint without a true rim protector or center and 48 minutes of dereck lively and gafford in the paint. But one of these games the celtics will probably just get really hot from 3. Hopefully its not game 5 so we can watch more basketball

i liked the gafford post ups on tatum. they did it a little in game 2 before. forces tatum to actually have to guard. Also when kleber has PP on him, dump the ball down to him.
Again both the Celtics and the Mavs are equally matched except Boston Celtics center Prezingus who makes the Celtics on top with his scoring and his defense

As a Mavs fan I'm glad we didn't get swept, a hollow victory to be sure. People talking about how they can come back. Look they win game 5 and we'll talk. I think the Celtics just lost on purpose to win at home. But I just don't buy a team getting railroaded in this series, then magically turned it on in game 4. Boston by 22 tonight.

@@sidjones16the MLB and NHL have both had teams come back from down 0-3 to win. It will eventually happen in the NBA as well and the league will be just fine. Not to mention, all of the games have been fairly even outside of game 4. When all tallied up, the Mavs have actually out scored Boston in this series

Its likely over in game 5. But the Mavs winning game 5 isn't farfetched. I didn't think they'd beat the Wolves and they did. The problem they had this series was their offense basically disappeared for 2 games. Had that happen in the Wolves series it would have been Wolves vs Boston easy. Both Luka and Kyrie are capable of going off for 45+ if needed. And the role players can do their thing. If they win game 5 and there is no Porzingis... the Mavs can pull off the upset. People are looking at it like they have to win all 4 games at the same time. Its you play 1 game, win that. Rest couple days. Then play again. Another way to look at it is that you're trying to go on a 4 game winning streak. Sounds more possible that way.
Pretty sure Celtics haven't had a 4 game losing streak the entire season, so.. doesn't sound as possible still, that being said, I hope it goes to 7 as a detached Celtics fan, I just want more good hoops. I said Celtics in 7 and I'm gonna stick with it.
@@diablogaming8095 another thing to note is that this format of 2-2-1-1-1 makes these things even more likely than the old 2-3-2 format. We already saw the Cavs come from 3-1 and the Celtics just last year won 3 straight to force a game 7. In this format, game 5 is the key game. Especially for the lower seeded team. Because you then have game 6 at home to setup a nice mini streak momentum to carry into game 7. If this was the old format I'd say 100% hell no they have no chance at all. Since game 6 and 7 will be in Boston back to back.
It's the media's job to "sensationalize" everything. It's entertainment. Don't take it so seriously. They don't always believe what they are selling. It is fun for the Mavs fans, even though I know the odds are astronomical for Kyrie coming back 3-1 and 3-0.

Luka was the best player for both teams in this or any series, if this was LeBron he would have been praised, his atroscious defence would have been overlooked and his team would have been thrown under the bus, but since Luka is European and Europeans are dominating the NBA landscape let’s take one bad defensive game from Luka and blow it all out of proportion and act like the Mavs being down 3 zip is all his fault.
