My buddy David lent me his McLaren 600LT for the day and told me that it would blow my mind. I have yet to really enjoy a McLaren as I've found them too numb and lacking a bit of soul. But, holy crap the 600LT is just EPIC. Insanely fast, very responsive, and tons of feedback. It finally felt like I wasn't driving a computer, but a supercar! This is how supercars that are track focused should feel. What an amazing car.

We have a huge McLaren of South Florida group and NON of us have major issues with our car that stops us from driving. Every single model is in our group. We ALL drive our cars regularly which is why we don't have issues. Keep the battery level up and you will be good to go. I've had my car since June 2019 and never had it on the trickle charger but I drive it at least 2-3 days per week.

Exactly. I have put over 10k miles on my 720 in the past 7 months. I have had zero issues. And, it's straight piped and tuned (Dyno Spectrum 900+WHP).

I mean, 4 windshields on a 2019? You would think with that kind of price tag it would have a bullet proof type windshield. I'm not being a sour puss, dont get me wrong, I'd drive it in a heartbeat, but would it be fair to say that the brand name is why it's so expensive? Not the quality? *Scratching my head*. I'm freaking impatient as hell, I gotta see Meg's review, its gonna be QUACKing hilarious!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@craigpetty3335 The thin glass is a weight saving measure, it looks as though they might need to strengthen it though. McLaren are a top company, they have won 182 F1 Grands Prix, 18 constructors World titles and 12 F1 drivers titles. They have also won 18 Indycar races with 2 Indy 500 victories among those.

It does look fantastic, especially from behind. I have never been fortunate enough to drive any supercar, this being said, if I were still a teen, I wouldn't have a McClaren poster on of my bed room doors but rather Ferrari's or Lambo's. Now that I'm older, I'm aiming towards my first Porsche (likely a 964 Carrera 4). It'll likely be much easier to maintain and get support if I screw up on DIY maintenance. Great channel, keep it up!

One year and 2000 miles on my 2019 570S and it has been trouble free. Only annoying thing is the window occasionally going down when I shut the door. Will cross my fingers regarding windshield cracks. Problem with RU-vid car flippers is they need some drama to get views so they mod the hell out of a car and complain when they have a problem with the manufacturer/dealer warranty. I find the easiest way to get into the car is to put your right leg in first. If you do it with both legs out you will hit your head. Keep the videos coming. Love the sound of your car!!

Build quality. I just rented a 720S in Vegas. They purchased the car 3 days prior and it already had a sensor fault. Insane... really fast though.

Engine access is easy, just 4 hex bolts and you lift the whole top engine cover off. Not harder to work on than any Ferrari or Lambo, rather the opposite! Parts are expensive though but so are Ferrari parts. I think the 600LT is like a modern driver focused Turbo version of the 458 Speciale while the 488 and F8 have gone more towards speed and comfort. Great video. Cheers

I’m not here to try to change anyone’s on the reliability of this car but as a 991.2 GT3 RS owner that had a chance to drive one of these recently I can tell you that it is absolutely INCREDIBLE! So fast, light weight feeling and amazingly tactile steering, combined with lightning fast trans/downshift cracks is addicting. Can’t comment on track driving between the 2 cars but it was significantly more exciting than the RS is as far as street driving is concerned

Having driven both, I would agree. I personally would probably take the Porsche over this just because of reliability concerns, but if money were no object, for sure the McLaren.

Great review and true response. Get a 570S tuned with downpipes. (the 600lt stock isnt faster than the 720s :)

The 600lt is one of my all time favorite cars. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a ride in one over the Summer in Warsaw, Poland... Easily one of the most insane experiences in my life.

The issue about mclarens have never been about performance. They depreciate a ton while under warranty (first 3 years), and after they are out of warranty the ownership cost is high (4-5k a year in warranty, plus no few dealer/indy support, and hit-n-miss reliability like you mentioned). I was offered 155 on my 2010 458 with 280k msrp a week ago as a dealer buy in, so it's still worth more than half after 10 years. A 2016 570s is already worth about half in 4 years' time, and the 720s is following pretty much the same pattern (even the 675LT which is supposedly limited has the same curve). But I would love to own one when indy/dealer/parts support catch up in the future. It's really a bargain over stuff like GT3s in the looks, performance and experience department for the same money, even though these turbo cars sound nowhere as good as NA.

As far as the windshield goes another "youtuber" has a 600LT with the same issue. He claimed McLaren told him the windshield manufacturer made some faulty windshields. He had some "corrected" glass installed in his from McLaren and no more problems.

I considered buying a McLaren, but as you mentioned there is no access to the engine from the top without specialty tools or a lot of time to remove sections to access the rear. They are amazing cars though!

Liked the review. However there isn't a single stat from 0-60, 0-100, laptimes etc etc where the 600lt is faster than a 720s. In fact the 720s runs 9s in the quarter mile.

@@SendItMediaCo In every measurable stat the 720s is about 15% faster. People have regularly recorded 2.4s 0-60 times in the 720s. Ironically thats where the 600lt stat is the closest beyond 60 the gap gets bigger and bigger. 0-186 mph (300 KPH) the 720s is nearly 7 seconds quicker than the 600lt. 7 seconds!!

Better way to get in is put right leg in, hold inside door handle and drop into seat. The door will counter your weight and be for a better way in

Yes the 600lt is amazing however I don't believe it's faster than a 675lt or the 720s.

McLarens engines are made by a British engineering company called Ricardo, original architecture was from a Nissan race car from the 90s. They just put a McLaren badge on it. Great car though

Hmmmm.... I'd stick with Ferrari. If DYI is a pain an expensive then in my book I wouldn't own one. Yeah 2.7- 2.9 sec/60mph vs 3.1-3.3 sec/60mph but at what cost? Me, I wanna enjoy the car and not worry about price and parts availability . That's what Ricambi is ALL about. Great video Dan.

These #maclarens #600lts are super prone to the #winshields cracking. Also the under pans for the #aero under the car the bolts back out over time and need to be retightend. So if u hear weird ratlles i bet u its those bolts.

Mclaren needs to work on its dealership network in the Midwest. No dealer in Ohio or Western PA.

Like you said, this car is fantastic but I hate how you cant do any DIY stuff.. I wish it could open up like a 05 Ford GT or something. Same goes for the new Porsche 911’s. Its sad..

Technically when someone let's you use their car it's on their insurance. But I carry my own to be safe

It's an awesome car but it is not faster than a 720s from my own experiences. You really need to get this car though!! I like how it drives better than the 720. I also suspect they use 285 rears for weight savings to performance ratio.
