My parents had an open marriage from when I was age 10-14. When I was 14, they split up as a direct result of their polyamory - the reason behind their divorce still affects me to this day. I truly believe you’re right Josh, PARENTS should never experiment with this kind of thing because it will always have some sort of effect on the children, and the children should be the main priority, not the relationship.

Y’all LET ME TELL YOU, my mom is extremely self-absorbed, materialistic, and only cares about herself. Josh is spot on with “they only put themselves first” that is 100% true. It was really difficult growing up with a mom like that. As I got older, I was able to see what was going on and develop my own opinions. Currently we don’t have the best relationship.

Just signed a lease to finish my degree and once this lease is up I fully intend to get out of here. The LDS culture is…very heavy…and I didn’t expect it to weigh on me like it has. The superficiality and exclusivity of the LDS culture makes me sad. This woman and people like Ruby Franke cast a wide pall across an image obsessed group and the incongruity is nauseating for me. It’s too bad, because I know there are lovely people within the LDS church…all I can do is wish them the best. I also agree with your assertion that these people likely use the LDS name for notoriety, only, and clearly have internalized very little about that particular faith. With that said, it is my experience that hypocrisy has a very special home in the LDS faith due to the values associated with various types of abstinence…so they may be devout, in their opinion. I was raised Mormon.. She does not fit the Mormon standard. When I was Mormon we were preached to be modest! We had to cover up, even when I went swimming I wore a T-shirt over the top. We spoke about modesty often through all our teachings. Judging if we were not modest was a big thing. The other women would have made it hard to attend if you dressed like that. The bachelorette conversation wouldn’t have happened either. The Mormon bachelorette party is like going to a boring family get together! 😂 In my past experience this just doesn’t add up.. I don’t know how she would be Mormon?! We were told no man would want their wife to show their bodies off. Marriage and children was what we were supposed to do. We would marry in the temple, and were bonded to our husbands. Shocking to hear swinging anything 😂 I can go on! But she isn’t Mormon. That being said, the Mormon church has been changing.. I know that this was months ago but something that bothered me was that someone asked her if the church was going to kick her out and she said no because the church has never received so many clicks and basically that they wouldn't kick her out for bringing them so much attention and the fact her children are extremely now known because this situation so of course this will affect them when they are little older When you mentioned the kids being there while they are doing that I agree hopefully they were at grandmas...my husband and I are EXTREMELY careful our kids never hear anything or walk in because that is my biggest fear of traumatizing my kids

The majority of the time, according to my granddaughter’s pediatrician, this tend to happen when the mother’s don’t give them tummy time. I saw it with my niece’s baby and she would use the car seat, swing and the playpen as babysitters while she had “Me Time” and her baby had to use one of these contraptions. Instead of playing and giving the baby as much of your “ME TIME (MOMMY TIME)” we see the children use these more and more, not like the past. If they are born with this condition then it’s a different story but not when they need it after 11 months that’s mommy’s fault.

I’m lds and this is Utah not all of us. I don’t really believe they are lds because we aren’t supposed to be dressing like this. They just know it’s popular. When I saw this I knew it was trouble. Outside of Utah we are normal. Stop letting people like this represent us. We are good people.

Drinking to excess and skirting the line of immorality...consenting or not..it's playing with fire and while she is wrong he should take some accountability ...any man (and vise versa) that is willing to share there spouse in any type of immorality there's a problem there from the onset..

I need to correct you on something here; as an Ex-Mormon myself, while it is practiced and preferred for couples to be married and sealed in the temple it is also not required. Therefore you can still practice and be apart of the LDS faith without all the temple hooplah.

You ask "why lie" , because if the church finds out they will be called to a disciplinary council and be either disfellow-shipped or excommunicated. Which brings shame to them and their families. Sounds like they are trying to avoid that IF they actually participated in the swinging.

My feelings have always been that if you cheat on your spouse, you cheat on your kids. I could maybe forgive my husband for cheating on me, but I don't think I could handle staying with someone who had betrayed my children and our family as a whole. (I'm talking about betrayal here, not an open agreement, although that's not for me either. )

The divorce - this is the other thing with Mormons, they highly encourage/steer the men in their congregation towards having influential jobs, they push them towards jobs as lawyers, police enforcement, child protection, politics so that when members within the congregation need help = it's in-house help. When I became a Mormon I was a single teen mum, my son's father was absent but he would turn up being violent and threatening to kill us at 2 and 3 in the morning on random occasions, the church helped me to get a restraining order... Which I quickly realized was just a piece of paper and wouldn't help me - then I was invited into the office and offered for the church to deal with him, members in my congregation were lawyers and they would have him put away. My ex's father was a cop (a dirty one), and I realized that at some point my ex would get out.. What then. So I bought a car, a dome tent, and we hit the road for 2 years instead. She may be making money from it - but her content will be used against her in court, I don't expect it will end well for her.
