I'd like to add for anyone that cares. What Big A said about world order is right. Basically, since the Churchill quote it was a bipolar order between the soviet union and USA, that came crumbling down in the 90s after the union collapsed, for the next years it was a unipolar order, where USA was the sole victor, it used this to push things onto the world ( basically, liberal democracy, + Smith's concept of the free market). China was the only big player that chose not to follow these. This order collapsed in 2008 with the crisis. USA is still the no 1 economy, but it doesn't have as much power over anyone. Since then, we are technically "out of control", but in anything but name, it transitioned to another bipolar order, with China being the USA's new opponent. And, it's important to note, China is a way more serious opponent than the union ever was.

one thing to always note is that market =\= economy. So I can be bullish on calls or shares even if I don’t think economy is doing so well. And at the end of the day I’m just tryna make money, not accurately predict economy direction.

Little complication about long term bonds. If you buy today, you lock in a nominal value going forward. If inflation roars, the value erodes (also, it would lead to higher rates which does this as well.

What Big A said at the beginning is mostly untrue, the FED doesn't really have access to special information that shows one thing that is completely different than the market. The FED looks at the same indicators and if you listened to Jerome speech he talks about slowly cutting back rates and being carefully optimistic. bottom-line is he is not cutting rates because the great depression is coming but because inflation is going down while the job market is exploding along with US GDP. It's also important to know that while yes graph look the same as 1970 the world is so different and it is stupid to compare monetary policy of 1979 when it would take 7 days of talking on the phone to buy a stock. Yes credit card debt is crazy high and housing prices are at the all time peak and new signing rates are down, but that doesn't reflect in other indicators such as pay raise increasing. Will the stock market collapse on the level big a has been preaching for 2 years?? no not likely, will the stock market continue to return 15%? no unlikely its somewhere in the middle.
