Daniel Ward built his turbo LS1 Valiant for two reasons; to go fast on the cheap and to piss off the purists. He's done pretty well on both parts. Watch this thing launch.

Matt Montgomery Got a slant 6 in mine, and happy with it as it’s a cruiser. But if I was going for power I would 100% barra it.

It's the special editions that put my nose out of whack when people make drastic changes. Like for a basic example... Nissan GTRs and NOT THE R35. I'm talking the real GTRs r32, 33, 34. When people swap the rb26 out of them, just ruins it for everyone. If you have plans of changing the motor in a special edition car, don't. Buy the lower spec, basic editions like a basic skyline and put your new motor in that. There's not enough old rare cars anymore for people to enjoy. I don't particularly care about this valiant running a chev motor, but say if someone swapped an LS into a Ford, or vice versa, I'd call them a fuckwit.

I'm a mopar man through and through. I have a vf sedan 440 727. But this is so cool. What ever you have to do on a budget is what makes it so cool.

Is it stock 3.73 explorer diff or shortened one side (pumpkin centred and running 2 short axles) thinking of doing this setup in a VF Ute tubed to rails

My ex’s family were mopar mad, and mine are Chevy/Holden (not overly biased though)... her dad used to ABSOLUTELY RAG on all things GM, Ford etc til he went red in the face, he had a mouth on him to say the least... anyway the second Ud say something shit about valliants or dodges etc he’d puff the chest out, rear up Salk and fuckin carry on 😂😂.... their a precious bunch the dodge boys

It's so true! I thought is Ford and the GM guys were bad... We have nothing on the Mopar guys. It's fun to stir them. I like Chryslers, but the diehard Mopar guys are completely one eyed... is it a case of something similar to "small-man's syndrome"?

True im a mopar guy , i hate Ford and Holdens its more of the body styling of them aesthetically ugly in my eyes , performance wise i dont care the 3 are equal , i also hate Harley Davidsons and i hate the Foo Fighters ( gutless average band ) too

I fuckin' love Valiants. The body roll on them looks sick, the way one front wheel picks up when cornering and launching. I was looking at some old ATCC pictures not long ago and almost every shot of a Valiant was with it on three wheels on a corner. Lol

I love old valiants but let's face facts a decent engine for them these days is either hard to find or going to cost you an arm, leg and most of your first born. So why not drop a LS in it they are affordable make great power for minimal $$$$ and if it goes bang there's one or 2 on every houso street.

Mint! Junkyard motor is what it is, hard pressed to find a stocker 245 hemi, then to make that kinda power without throwing huge coin at it. Gladly accept the world we live in now, ls and barra are the worlds current " hemi" hyped standard for our generation. Respect mate, love the VG no matter what u run in it. Commodore on the other hand, good for something at least.. heart transplant donors. I await the thumbs downs from disgruntled chevy badged "clit" car owners across Australia. :)

I'm pretty bored with the whole LS scene, but I can totally understand old-mate's reasoning - They're cheap, compact, light and give good power... he was on a budget, he's got bang for his buck.

@1:28 How's the launch on the white panel van!!! That was SICK! Love the Val- good on him. Prob lots of fun to drive too. Would have cost A LOT more to make this kinda power with a Mopar small block like an LA engine. A big block could be done fairly cheaply for low- ish boost, but it's hard to beat bang for buck with an LS. Even doing a genlll Hemi would have cost a lot more, the price of the two motors at the weckers couldn't be any different. Who cares what the Nancy's think about it online. It's not their car and prob none of them own something as quick as this ol' Val either. It's easy to criticize when you drive a Hyundai or Kia, but your opinion really doesn't matter when you drive some stock POS whatever...

I prefer old school muscle in old school cars and am not a fan of everything being LS'd, but it's your car and you can do whatever the hell you like.

Having built a turbo sb mopar powered VG myself, this LS powered one probably cost heaps less and is definitely waaaaay quicker. Well worth dealing with some keyboard warriors I reckon

99% of Australian Valiant people always used to be about the Budget. Fast and budget and Mopar just don't go together, you can only have 2. I think I heard Arby make that Quote. Classic old Australian car though as it is as rigid as a wet noodle. I like it all but for one thing, the Mopar decal on the rocker cover.

I'd like this val if it was engineered with the ls which it isn't. He hits you on the street. Your not covered by his insurance if he has any. So many unengineerred cars out there it's scary for us that want to do the right thing. When it was for sale I was told by the owner its not engineered...therefore should not be on the road. Wanker
