Tax the churches. Churches violate the Johnson Amendment all the time here in Texas, too.

Churches/religion are the only businesses in this country that sell an invisible non-existent product that not only don't pay taxes but never get charged with fraud... so it's no wonder why we have so many of them in operation

I went to Middle Tennessee State University in Rutherford County. I’m an atheist, married to an atheist and raised an atheist daughter. ❤️ I live in Chattanooga now. It is tough to come out as an atheist. People automatically feel threatened and get mean and vicious which ironically is not very “christian”.

I'm an atheist but I believe afterlife is possible, in spite of 0 evidence. I do believe in ghosts, based on many videos I've seen. But I could be wrong. My ethics would remain. Science remains.

I've never had any problem to be openly atheist or having to come out the closet in Brazil. USA seems to be in a very healthful trend. The ranking of countries with the best human developement indexes are the more atheist and secular ones . Just a "coincidence", of course!

Gayle Jordan simply makes sense. Neither radical, or nonsensical, just calm, solid approach to how to make things better. You know what bothers me? That in our nation, today April 2020, people who make sense, in some many areas of our country, are seen as outliers, outsiders. Think about that. Gayle Jordan - you rock. I ran for a small city council seat last year. 6k residents in district, voted Clinton +3 in 2016. I didn't say I was atheist, I just didn't provide a church and when I went to every house in my ward I had about a dozen people yell at me that because I didn't *put my church* on my campaign paperwork, I wasn't getting their vote

I wonder how long it will be for people to realize that Religion and Politics are two entirely different subjects , and political decisions should never be predicated on any kind of religious beliefs, that at best are wishful thinking, and not provable. I would never want to think that decisions that affect our lives are governed on ancient, tribal, patriarchal, superstition.

I’m a TN resident in the NE if the state, & it’s very encouraging to see an atheist run for office here. It’s a very brave act to claim it publicly. We have educated, liberal pockets to talk openly (& some other intelligent folks that can have a reasonable conversation), but doing it with the general public (idiot masses) seems fraught with risk. I’m encouraged that we might be further along than I thought.

I'm not an atheist but I left my fundamentalist Christian faith. It always amazes me the lack of empathy believers have for those of us who lost our faith. It's an extremely traumatic process that we don't choose. You can't really help what makes sense to you as an individual.

As a person with Aspberger's and an Atheist, I'm glad you are doing something very brave. I too fight for people like myself and others as an activist against corporate companies like Drum Corps International and Bands of America for making public school music programs fight for money like The Hunger Games. Gail Jordan is fabulous! I really loved her campaign ad and her three points up is it rational is it reasonable and is it right. Gayle is a brave woman, thick skin, indeed; I can imagine you would be pillared as a "godless atheist" people would fear hell fire would rain down on them. Just stuff that happens in the old testament. And the faithful knows it. Religion is fear.
