THE MOST INCREDIBLE STRETCH OF COAST FOR L.R.F - FISHING IRELAND

A FISHERMAN'S PARADISE with top class wrasse and pollock fishing as well as scenery to die for, this area produced a memorable day with Matt and Ian catching so many fish they lost count.
BE WARNED that these locations are treacherous when wet, and sudden downpours can occur any time of the year, leaving you unable to retreat from a mark. Of all the places I have fished, this remote location is one of the most dangerous. It deserves the utmost respect.
Light rock fishing around Loop Head, Co. Clare.

Great scenery,it must be a joy to fish there,especially on a summers day. I`ve allways wanted to try rock fishing,especially for wrasse,which can display such bright and vivid colouration. My mother lives in co.sligo,next time I visit,i`ll take some tackle and have a drive and explore. Great fun video.......keep them coming.

Thank you for taking the time to say that Nick! Wrasse can be found just about everywhere and the more remote the location the better. Corkwings because of their spectacular array of colours are a particular favourite of mine. I'm sure you will have yours. Have fun on your next visit to the shore. ATB.

Love your videos and your enthusiasm is so contagious. I live in Dallas, Tx but will be over again this summer. Last year e brought over a bunch of gear to leave at my father-in-laws house outside of Galway. My nephew and I brought over surf fishing, fly fishing and spinning gear. This area definitely looks like a place we want to try. It looks rugged and difficult to navigate though...so I guess slow and steady is the way to go. One question, is it better to fish a low or high tide? Thanks in advance and all the best.
@surethingsfly
@surethingsfly 8 лет назад
This is where things can get a little confusing. Different fish feed at different states of tide. A rule of thumb says the bigger the tide the bigger the fish. While this can be true I found fish at every state of tide depending on local factors weather, food, etc. Access to areas which are normally difficult to fish are accessible at (spring) low tide. Some of the seasonal resident fish often retreat until the flood arrives again, and can be targeted in that narrow window where water is low. For wrasse and bass this very often the case. The rate of flood or ebb is important this effects where food is pushed and pulled to different areas, of coarse the predator fish duly follow. There's no exact science to this and I'm always learning something new everyday. For what its worth I would try and hit a place on a spring tide. A little cloud and a south or southwest wind, would be preferable. The biggest fish usually feed an 1/2 an hour to and hour after high-tide. Slow and steady is not necessary if fish are competing for food. Try every trick in the book and find a local tackle shop for the latest news on where is fishing good at that time. The old "german sprat" lure is cheap and I've just about caught every sea fish on it ;)) Good wishes to you!

Jonathan Hampshire Thank you Jonathan! That's just the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more to explore. Maybe a part two you be an excuse for another visit. Hi Andrew, if you want to stack the odds in your favour I would aim for somewhere between September and October (as it is in most places). That's not to say it's impossible to find fish before it ;) Kerry is awesome I plan to visit a few times this year. Best wishes and happy hunting to you.
