When it comes to Tudor, the watch that first comes to mind is undoubtedly the dense Black Bay collection of heritage-inspired dive watches. However, in Tudor's entry-level position, there is another intriguing, dressier option that follows Tudor's former history with third-party movements - the Tudor 1926. In this video, we'll take a detailed look at my favorite watch from one of Tudor's least talked-about collections.

Late to the party, but I love this one. The one you showed off is my favorite size and dial combination. It's not a beater, but also not trying to make a large statement. It's one I can wear in a wide variety of situations and with individuals from various backgrounds without feeling out of place.

Agree with this Teddy. Went to my AD this week to look at the Tudor GMT and ended up walking out with the 1926 in 41mm on the brown strap. It's just a really simple watch with everything I need - auto, sapphire, screw down crown, the strap has rubber on the inside. Rotating it with my more expensive watch and it's perfect for me as it's the polar opposite of my sports watch.

Long overdue. This watch is a tremendous value. A real strap-monster that can be dressed up or down easily. Also a solid nod to the Tudor Oyster Dates of the past. There’s heritage here, it’s just that people are unaware.

As a person not a fan of diver watches, the 1926 from Tudor is a watch that I would add to my small collection in a heart beat. Nicely done and sleek watch, and I really like how the bracelet sets it all off. The Opaline dial serves the watch justice with the blue Arabic and index numerals. If I had the money to spend on a watch right now, I would jump on this right now.
@mrjasonrowland

I have the 39mm white/opaline dial 1926. Mine is a few years old now so it has the top grade ETA movement in it. It’s a very thin and comfy watch to wear. Wears and looks larger thanks to the white dial and thin bezel. It’s all dial. One of my favorite pieces. Super versatile. Screw down crown, 100m of water resistance, and an outstanding and comfortable bracelet should you choose to use it. It looks more casual in person than in photos. Works with shorts or a suit. Understated and then those blue hands and indices hit the light and POW!

Great video as always, Teddy. My first Tudor was the BB Chronograph, which is amazing. But then I wanted something a little more "everyday" and absolutely LOVE this watch, having bought the exact model you've reviewed here. Feel on the wrist is sublime, legibility and beauty in the dial outstanding, with attention to detail and quality punching well above its weight. If I had a gripe it's the relatively brief power reserve of 38 hours- even 55 hours would have been nice, but at this price, with the money saved a person could go buy a quality watch winder and not feel they'd spent too much. It is truly phenomenal that Tudor has created their entry level at this price point with this much watch!

Awesome to see some love for this watch. I bought the 39mm exact same opaline and blue model two years ago. Pretty positive it came with an ETA 2824 back then. I bought for me and my wife this exact reference with the blue indexes, one in 36 mm for her and in 39 mm for me and I can say that it is one of my most worn watches. Accurate, elegant and with a movement that is reliable but doesn't cost so much in terms of maintenance. A great watch 💙

In fact I’ve fallen in love with the Tudor brand all together and currently considering the Glamour date date. I’ve discovered that piece quite recently, but I love it: this is gonna be my next dress watch. You have multiple options here and I will go for a 1926 two tones in 36 mm. This old-school textured dial with gold accent will definitely dress up compare to the BB36 classic Explorer like design. And now it’s also available on leather strap! 😎 The only negative you could point at would be the movement. Not a problem for me as Tudor is regulating their watches quite good.

Completely agree that so many dial options is not always a good thing, cant decide between opaline and blue vs black dial :(

Hey Teddy, could you do a look at the Tudor Glamour Date too? I feel like that is also a very overlooked watch.

This is the color way I own. Beautiful watch and looks great on leather straps as well.
