Back when you made that comment, I would have disagreed. Couldn't stop laughing at every Nerd Crew video, with the hilarious editing and biting sarcasm brilliantly mocking geek podcasts. Then the Galaxy's Edge rant happened. Not only did reality become too ridiculous to parody, Collider and the Nerd Crew killed each other as a result: RLM turned eyeballs on how shilly Collider was and in turn, their own parody videos stopped being as funny as they used to be with reality becoming too stupid to top. Very cool.
HexVex Jack likes the "artsy fartsy" stuff so I think it makes sense that he'd like it... My thoughts coming out of the theater were that Mike is going to cautiously like it because of the schlock, Rich will think it was stupid and Jay will be somewhere in between
Yeah, I'm genuinely interested in what they have to say. If they savage it, fine. If they're lukewarm on it, fine. I just need a point of reference other than my friends who are much deeper into Star Wars than I am.

I watched this a day after it came it, mostly had upvotes. Now after the movie's out, there's this flood of downvotes... I think we can assume that most of the downvotes are from bewildered unwashed hoards unaccustomed RLM expecting a 'real' review.
I think there's more to it. I think they're getting disliked bombed. And I think it's mostly shell accounts, which is why there's not a ton of negative comments.
@@PsychoGallagher completely agree. At this point, I have watched their videos so much that I have grown to love these guys. Now, I'm pretty much just happy to see them in a video, no matter if it's actually any good or not.
I only got to the 9 minute mark because, though this is fantastic satire, it's still way to close to reality for me not to grow angry and annoyed with the mainstream reviewers and "nerd culture" aficionados.
I literally have a portrait of Rich Evans in this costume in my living room, the size of 24x36. I had about 10 people visiting me and inquiring about the portrait in the last years, I always just smile and say "It's Rich.".

I really hope people that haven't seen TLJ watch this and hear all the spoilers... my favorite part was when Rey threw a Porg to Kylo and Kylo used it to beat the Praetorian guard to death.
Personally when Rey and Snoke started fucking on the floor like animals, cucking a crying Kylo Ren really resonated with me. That's when I realised that this film is about family.
RLM is the the smartest group of hackfrauds on the internet. Since this title says review and spoilers some one involved with Disney had to watch this whole thing to see if the embargo was being broken. Can you imagine what someone not in on the joke would think of this?

@Super JLK TFA was never decent. It was a botched copy-paste of A New Hope. Zero imagination, no attempt at maintaining continuity with Return of the Jedi, just a cash grab on our nostalgia in which zero effort was made. It's kind of a good thing, though, because it kept my expectations for TLJ very, very low.

Having only watched the RLM parodies I figured I'd try watching one of the "real" shows. Started watching a Collider episode on one of the Star Wars movies and fucking hell, the RLM version isn't even that exaggerated!? I thought for sure they were hamming it up like crazy just to make fun of these people, but it's almost 1:1! I'm stunned.

On their twitter they said they had ordered their tickets online, but apparently something got screwed up and they couldn't get them the day of. I would assume they are just being delayed by a couple days. Hopefully it will be up within a day or two from now.

Plinkett loved TFA Idk what reciew you watched. It was one of his tamest reciews ever, basically pointing out its flaws (which it does have quite a bit) but really point out the stupidity of the hype and fanbase around it.

I used to be a fan of them but who cares now. I doubt it’s just collider though. It’s screen junkies, Chris stuckman, all the pretend Star Wars critics. I don’t hate episode 8, I like it but I haven’t watched Jedi council since December I think

I can see why some may like the movie, but the direction it took made no sense to me. It just seems like Rian Johnson made this movie to be different and unpredictable. Weather RLM likes or not, I always enjoy their take on movies.
I love out of the box ideas, it can lead to awesome movies. However, I feel like the execution of this film was not good. (Spoilers) The subplot of Finn and Rose had no impact caused by bad communication . Luke's character arc contradicts his core values from the previous films and he just left cause fuck it. Snoke was wasted, it makes his existence pointless. It also makes Kylo the main antagonist which I don't buy, he's still conflicted. Leia is superman. Rey never struggled or received proper training in the force. With all of this, how do you even conclude this trilogy in a meaningful way? So yes it's a hot mess and it doesn't make sense.
Yes those are interesting changes, but it was all underdeveloped. We don't actually see these characters really progress. Except for Kylo and Poe. Besides the movie still ended black and white. So if not snoke now it's Kylo. That's part of the problem, I think he became the 2D bad guy which was the "twist" in the throne room. It did not make sense after all that inner conflict killing snoke was the last straw. Also before kylo and his crew attacks the temple, why did Luke lose faith in Kylo? When he never gave up on Vader. The slayer of countless jedi. In short, my opinion rests on having having clear continuity with stories that have established characters. It can be wild and different, but it has to work. I don't hate the movie, it has memorable moments. But it goes nowhere at the end.
MrAlextrombone Luke basically created Kylo Ren due to his dark thoughts. It's not inconsistent for a Jedi Master to go into self-imposed exile (see: Yoda, Obi-Wan). "Rey never struggled or received proper training in the force". Luke didn't receive proper training in the force during ESB. Also, the whole "balance to the Force" thing the movie goes out of its way to explain explains this. When Kylo Ren becomes more powerful, the Force, which must be balanced, made Rey (the foil to Kylo Ren) also more powerful. "Leia is Superman". Yeah, the execution of the scene looked ridiculous, but the idea of Leia doing that isn't really that ridiculous - she just force pulled herself towards the ship.
