I just ordered my safe. I’ll wait and see how that is first before I move onto a better lock. On second thought, I wish I had seen this video before I ordered.

I love my Console Vault EXCEPT for the locks. It really needs more lock options such as a keypad or a fingerprint lock.

I bet that New Console lock would work on other safe manufacturers. The hole for the lock where the shaft goes through is a standard diameter, so it should install on any under the seat safe.

Wow, can a thief just push the reset and change the code then use that code to unlock? I never seen a combo lock with outside reset

I would assume that it has be set to the current unlock combo first before it can be reset.

Correct, the code has to be set to unlock to be able to change the combination.

@@Avathreyn I'm not sure what more needs to be said, you see that gap between the door and the edge of the safe by the lock? You slide a large flat-head screwdriver or if you're extra fancy a pry bar in that gap and pop it open. That little latch isn't going to be nothing more than a minor nuisance to a thief. The only time something like this should be used to store something like a firearm is when you're in a gun free zone or another place where you can't carry it.

How do you set open to the left or open to the right? Upon receiving it is pointed straight up and there is no orientation so is horizontal lett or right?
