Was sent this new lamp out by OLight to show you and I honestly really like it. This thing has two modes and a max brightness of 600 lumens and a maximum run time on low of 180 hours!

It’s a remote control rooster light ring to help guide your rooster into dark places lol 😂😂😂

I like the bottle idea. When I have needed a work light I have used a couple tin cans for right angle lights to adjust their height. Always a way to improvise if one can think of it. I do wish they had a way to extend the adapter with the tripod socket. It does not fit on my Manfrotto tripod. 😞 Perhaps use an extension tube then clamp it to that. Still I hope they remedy that. I do have the "tactical tripod" but it should still be made to also use a regular one. I have not tried my Gorilla pod. Re your lamp base comment, I also like the Obulbs as there is nothing blocking the light and the 2700K tint is easy on the eyes. Of course the Swivel can be aimed, but the tint is CW and cannot be adjusted.

Hi there thanks for the comment. If you unclip the light and take the middle hub out you can screw that to you tripod first and then re clip the lamp onto it, the spring closure arms inside have plenty of extra give and the light will happily sit a little above normal position, that’s how I did it when I came across the same issue. Hope that helps. All the best

@@TimRobson30 Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try it more, and although I understand that Olight wants to be able to have a flush base so it could just sit on a flat surface, I cannot see any reason why a tripod socket would be recessed. That seems to be a design defect. Perhaps the tubes were cut too short? I like having the tactical tripod, but I should not be forced to use such a design because of a literal shortcoming. For anyone reading this considering the Haloop, don't get me wrong, it is a great and innovative lantern that addresses some of the shortcomings of a traditional lantern shape. You should buy it anyway. Olight just needs to add a half inch of so to the adapter tube so the tripod socket is even with the bottom of the light, just like it would be on a camera. I have not yet had a chance to pull out the extension tube that I have for my tripod. It should clamp just fine to that. I purchased the extension tube so that I could raise a laser level high enough to use with my Manfrotto tripod.

Too bad there no option for a switch for a sensor so the light can turn on and off automatically
