I don’t think fantano realizes that going that experimental is detrimental to carti’s image. Even today, 10 years after the Money Store, it is still too experimental to be mainstream. Carti has found a way to catapult himself to S-tier by taking some parts of experimental sounds and implementing them into his music.

Have you seen his review of Die Lit? He's given Carti credit for being an originator (main influence) of the rage sound. Most of the time he likes the ideas Carti brings but they're not just fully executed or ambitious enough. Even tho I'm a fan, I agree with him that a project like WLR could've been so much more than what we got. Finally Fantano tends to shit on his roster way more but for good reasons. I can't listen to a full Ken or Lone album.

Carti actually suffers from delayed puberty. He mentioned in an old interview how he never hit puberty until he was 19 years old, after he got medical attention to give him testerone injections. His balls dropped around June 2023, and he is now able to rapr in a much deeper register.

Cartis album are usually messy and just a collection of songs where as Travis albums are carefully put together and are a whole journey and experience. If Carti put a little more effort into that he could be near Travis’ level but for now I don’t think it’s close Travis is a better artist by far

@@NoName-pl7zm Travis puts more care into his albums being cohesive, but with the exception of Rodeo, he has not been nearly as inventive as Carti. Rodeo was huge for trap but all of Carti's project have been a stepping stone for a generation of hip hop. Magnolia and wokeuplikethis from his self-titled helped propel soundcloud rap into the mainstream. Die Lit is quite one of a kind with its strange ad-lib heavy care-free vocals soaked in a mixture of plugg and trap, and Whole Lotta Red literally created an entire new genre with rage. Carti's albums feel less curated but I think it's because he's trying harder to create something experimental and new with each of his projects, or at least trying to push a certain sound forward. Meanwhile, Travis' albums post Rodeo are more of a carefully curated version of already established sounds; Utopia is massively Kanye inspired, mainly from his Yeezus era, with multiple instrumentals and verses literally given to him by Kanye. Astroworld is fantastic but provides nothing new or experimental to the trap landscape (besides maybe the beat switches?? but beat switches were something he already helped into the mainstream on Rodeo). Even Rodeo is extremely inspired by Kid Cudi and Travis' predecessors (while I think its his best album by far). Anyways, I don't think it's as cut and dry that Travis is a better artist, I think in terms of artistry, there might be an argument for Carti being more inventive and unique.
