Thank you, Jarrett!! Of my eight great grandparents, three were born in Canada, two in Nova Scotia and one in New Brunswick. My great grandmother from NB was French-Canadian, yet it seems 60% to 65% of my matches are through her. I am hoping the new clusters tools will help me discern genealogically useful matches.

OMG.... That's why my partner's Auto cluster is one block!! I thought it was just because the French family got really into DNA testing!!! Cluster 1: 100 members, Cluster 2: 4 members, Cluster 3: 3 members

This is really cool. I agree with your previous commenter, though, that I hate the background music. Was frustrated I couldn't turn it off since I need to be able to hear what you're saying. You could just ditch the music altogether.

I didn't even notice the music. Question though. Would this tool work for someone who is NOT part of one of the endogamous groups you mentioned. For example; on my father's side, who is african american, (which makes searching hard enough) there is also alot of marrying cousins because the town was small and most people stayed where they were familiar. On top of that my father is from Mississippi where a lot of records are just unavailable. Thank you. Melissa

It would be nice if Gedmatch released new tools regarding segment ethnicity and it's applications to clustering. I have found a segment in a kit I have been working with that has an ethnic anomaly present, that has huge implications because the segment has been triangulated to an individual that allegedly has the ethnic group of the anomaly present from one of their grandparents. When one looks up the history of the person though, there is nothing but quarreling on sites like Wikitree about whether it is true or not, including questioning the validity of books written in the past.

Could you do a video on comparing the difference between two different scenarios. Scenario 1: 2nd cousins with the MRCA being identical twins. Scenario 2: instead of being 2nd cousins, they are instead half 1st cousins? I have all the shared match data in a Wato tree, but there doesnt seem to be a way to designate identical twins.

As one whose genealogical records for one branch of ancestry was destroyed by the British Democratic Mercantilist Empire during our War of Independence, this may prove useful in tracking that branch.

What are your thoughts on full siblings that show estimated relationship to a specific person/DNA match, but 1 shows 6-8 cousins and the other shows 2-3 cousins?

I did a few runs with the new tool and there is something strange going on. There isn't one vaguely familiar name in the list which is okay. What is strange is every kit number is the same T000000. When I click on a name, the next page opens up to show the name and the kit number. That's fine. Then when I copy and paste the kit number into the Tier 1 One to One, a very, very different name shows up for the kit number. What's up?

Will this be helpful with family trees with pedigree collapse? (I think is what it is called??)

Possibly, although I can't say for sure. With recent pedigree collapse it causes a more substantial change to how you match relatives from that line of the family. As more people play around with the tool, I am hopeful that we may find more ways to utilize this and that may include settings useful for people with recent pedigree collapse.

@@GeneaVlogger gotcha. Yes, I imagine it would be considered a recent pedigree collapse. My mother's father and my father's father were 1st cousins... their mothers were sisters.

Endogamy was a problem for me too. I have 2 large boxes and only 2 other boxes. Almost all of us in those populations are cousins many times over and have been in the U.S. generations. In fact even my own parents share many of the same ancestors many times over. We are Spanish colonials in the U.S.. Ged match however is far too shady with regards to our data safety so I guess I am out of luck. :/

@GeneaVlogger Your choice of music and it's volume is capable of being very distracting. This would be especially so for older, or less brilliant people. Not everyone can be the best and the brightest.

Great video, however I have to say why can't Ancestry offer like this on their platform. Unlike everything else they've put behind I paywall I'd actually pay quite a bit for access to this every so often. I do love GEDMatch, they're great for what they do, but I just feel they don't have the matches in the quantity that Ancestry does, which isn't their fault, it's just how it is. Also, I don't know what's up with your music, it was really annoying and either your voice was too quiet or the music too loud because it wasn't very easy to hear what you were saying at certain points in the video. I'm sure this is just a one off, but I just thought I'd mention it
