There are 89 ethnic groups in Ethiopia and 9 ethnic groups within Eritrea. There's an overlap of specific ethnicities that settled in the central to north of Ethiopia and central-south Eritrea (Specifically Amhara, Tigryna, and Tigre, also known as Habesha )... That explains why there's a lumping of the ethnic group. Because they are all Semitic descent and share a vast amount of DNA. Abyssinia & Kingdom of Aksum were vast empires that included parts of modern-day Yemen, Ethiopia, and Eritrea once upon a century.
Ive heard the twins say that they had a white great great great grandfather. I have a black great great grandmother so does that mean I'm likely about 12% black?
My eldest sister and brother were both born with blonde afro hair. My sister has brown eyes, my brother’s eyes are blue. I’m the third child and my eyes are brown/slightly hazel green. We are soooo pale and white because our mother has Irish heritage… she had long, dark, straight hair and green eyes and was VERY white. My dad was part Jewish/German/Scottish, however, his mother was darkest black and his dad was the same colouring as my dad… I can only describe my dad’s skin as sort of mixed race. My dad was Jamaican… I think they have a saying about ‘one people out of many’… something like that?! But, that’s not my point… I’m very light skin, was brought up as a Christian and within my black culture… and I still get put down for having ‘white privilege’ even though I AM STILL DESCENDED FROM SLAVES! On a side note: 1,2 people in Victorian England were black. Think about that. Also, my son has blue/green eyes and blonde hair with tan lightskin! In the UK, this isn’t a problem, in the US, it seems to be a HUGE problem. My DNA test results show that I’m more black than anything else but, in reality, I’m not very dark skinned at all!😂
Appreciate the hard work for making this video. But in reality, if the identification is done in a dark environment, or the persons have put on face masks or wearing makeup, then it could be a challenge.
I found your video informative and it clarified weird things that I had noticed. Since this video is old can you please do another video updating where things sit with Find a Grave now? I have just gotten memorials successfully transferred for my parents and one brother. Now that I am the manager what exactly does that mean? Can I control what can be added to the memorial like photos and information? Can I remove information placed there by the creator?
21:50 and as usual it was completely omitted that the Native American ancestry would have also not been by voluntarily means. (As it was something already in practice here in North America as well as numerous other areas of the world & long before a European ever came here. I say this to be historically factual since there are so many ppl still so grossly ill informed on the topic in 2024. Also, just a historical fact fyi the largest slave markets & ppl with the longest lasting practice of it was in Korea & the ME (didnt say historically longest lasting because it is still done in several areas of Africa & the ME to this day (where the Y study really cant be performed especially in the ME where there is already only an extremely small percentage of descendants after over a thousand years. Last inaccurate count was between 15 to 20k descendants).
My DNA testing just confirmed the family lore except for a wee bit the was not actually a surprised. My dad’s family is Irish. My mom is Scottish and Welsh. It all was dead on result but the only unknown was .04 percent Scandinavian. I just figured there was a Viking raid at some time. But the family had it correct for the most part and we’ve been in America for hundreds of years, pre USA on my mom’s side. Dad’s family were 1840’s immigrants. It just seems like my kin didn’t get around much. My parents were more adventurous.
If possible can tou do video on caucasian slavery from the Mediterranean slave trade, and well documented in 1805, 2nd Treaty of Tripoly' 2nd Article, last sentence, which allowed $60k to the Barshaw of Tripoli for the release of the caucasian 'prisoners'. Makes more clear as to the number due to the Bashaw declaring war on US due to that allotment being an insult because he could, and was, making much more for them on the open market. Also, Columbus went to Jamaica first. Wasnt named Jamaica then. Columbus, and where he went is inportant because he never came to N. America, and never named anyone 'indian'. Indians are from India. He did name the. CARIBS, which means cannibal, which violated Isabella laws of citizenship. Convenient when you want the land, resources, and people as laborers. Much to uncover here.
