I bought a Nintendo Switch that's just a Nintendo Switch. Edited by Scott Wozniak Main Channel: @ScottTheWoz Twitter: / scottthewoz Facebook: / scottthewoz Instagram: / scottthewoz
Insane to me that the switch is still practically full price after 6 years. The Wii was massively popular, and I remember OG white Wiis retailing for $99 back in like 2010 or so.
I think that this bundle could have been really cool if it had a copy of the actual movie on it. That would have been super cool, and a unique way to spice up the system
@@asparagusnoodle It's too little too late to worry about piracy when they released millions of switches with an unpatchable hardware exploit. I get the idea but pandoras box is WIDE open at this point, there's no stopping in now.
you know, they could have put their best foot forward for the fans and released a OLED version and included all 3 games to be like 'this is the definitive way to view/play the mario games on switch' but no, old hardware and old games and some stickers like here it is enjoy you are lucky you get ONE game, classic nintendo
To be fair, most big companies would be reluctant to give several games. But they should have definitely made it a Oled, or at least made it a option. Maybe add a E-Shop card.
The Chose One bundle is such an interesting idea to me. Like, you can pick any of the 3 games you want? That’s awesome! But, why not just include an eShop card and allow me to get whatever game I want from the eShop
I think it has something to do with the feel. With this you feel like you not only got a game, but you even got to decide. An eshop card would be better, yes, but it’s also lamer, no fun bits, just raw capitalism lol
It does make sure kids coming back from the movie get hooked on Mario, instead of spending their 60 dollars on a dozen shovelware games because they're too young to know better.
Then it would be even better to just give you a $60/60€ discount on the console, lol. But I feel that it's a combination of: 1. It's their games, so no revenue needs to be given because of this bundle (what if you spend all the eshop credit on overwatch 2 lootboxes?); 2. They're older games, so not much revenue lost over full-price customers (so Nintendo won't give away Zelda TotK for cheap because how could they?); 3. It keeps the bundle into a theme, which generally sells better as a gift than just discounts or eshop "cashbacks" (maybe you don't realise how uninteresting money is to little kids); 4. Nintendo was just experimenting with a new console bundle idea, and it also ties in with the Mario movie; 5. It's cheaper than creating 3 SKUs for specific game bundles (less shelf/storage space needed for virtually identical packs); 6. It works extremely well in this specific scenario: you know your kid(s) like(s) Mario, but you don't know which game they'll like more, so they get to choose without spoiling the present. Maybe there's more points, but this is as far as I wish to look into it tbh.
Times like this make me question Scott's net worth that's not just a Wii full of WiiWare games. He bought that special Switch just to show it off and make jokes of it!
it fills me with an unexplainable sense of pain and anger to see new super mario bros u deluxe be seen as on the same level as mario kart 8 deluxe and mario odyssey
So a couple of weeks ago, my switch smashed. Had to buy a new one. This EXACT bundle happened to release the day I went in to rebuy my Switch. Not a bad little surprise to make a crappy situation better
I think it would've been a sick deal if the bundle costed $350 but came with all 3 games. It would've been such a good starter kit for people who are buying Nintendo Switches in 2023.
@@ihavenoideas5844 you say they are worth $60 but I would not pay $60 for Mario Kart or a 2D Mario game. The real $60 games Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda BOTW, And Animal Crossing. They should really lower the price of their non-premium and spinoff games.
My favorite bundle in recent memory is the Xbox series S I keep seeing at Walmart that says it comes with fall guys Fortnite and rocket league. All of witch are free games lol. I'm assuming it comes with currency or skins but it doesn't say on the front.
You know somebody's uncle bought this, redeemed codes, returned it, and used the refund to buy a new bundle for up to 3 free games on their switch account.
I think it's a great deal, seeing as it's not false advertising. You can get everything on the box, but you can only have 1 option if that makes sense.
Yeah. Nintendo's seriously been dropping the ball after the first couple years of the Switch. Despite that they're still doing incredibly well, so unfortunately they have no incentive to do better. The Switch as a whole has been pretty disappointing for me, it doesn't have the same charm their past systems did.
I got the red and blue themed Mario Switch. I honestly really like that it's so different from other Switches. The lack of color on other editions feels really weird, especially since this is Nintendo. I do wish it went with a little more blue, because the thing is like 90% red, 9% blue, and 1% black. (The damn kickstand is the same color as the regular Switch. Why Nintendo? Why is this thing not red to go with the rest of the console? Or blue to give us a little more blue on the overall package.)
I think the way Scott delivers his lines here is SIGNIFICANTLY better than it is in normal Scott the Woz episodes. Wouldn't mind it becoming more like this in the future!
They really should make bundles with the OLED. I wanted to get a bundle when I got mine but I wanted the OLED more. Also I feel like this bundle would be better if it at least had more variety. I understand it being Mario themed but there's so many Mario games they could have given as options such a 3d world+Bowser's fury, either Mario party, the sports games, etc.
I feel like it's kind of lazy. With the Mario Switch and 3 digital choices of a mario game. Not everyone likes digital games. They should of just bundled it with whatever physical mario game the store has at the moment. It would clear out the stores inventory of mario games, And they'd get that sweet special edition mario game. I just think getting a game digitally should be 5$ cheaper. Since you're not physically holding the game's case or cartridge.
I've grown to like this channel more , it's just such a more calmer experience and it's great to hear him go on about today's subject . It's like a friend dumping information on you , absolutely great !
Nintendo still doing lame sales and promotions for the switch like they were back in 2018 instead of finally doing something like Nintendo Selects is very Nintendo
Troll and I what a great choice. Otherwise yeah Odyssey makes sense for that but still against 4 games (didn't even know they offered that huh how generous of Sony) for PS4 yeah quite the competition or the COD MW2 bundles too. The stickers are yeah just that a bonus. It's a pretty eh bundle but they put something out at least besides discounts. I own neither of these games yet so that's something but hey for $300 USD and a download of 3 what a bargain I guess. I'm happy o even got my AUD $300 for a used almost complete original Switch just no grips at least the rest was there.
Sticker sheets are probably one of the most disappointing pack-in bundles with anything I've ever seen. I think that's why I like simple DLC codes, or little knick-knacks so much more now, like the gold coins with Mario game-specific graphics on them. I only own the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury coin, but they did make 3D All-Stars & Odyssey coins too, which look super cool. Sad part is that these coins are almost the same price as the game itself now, at least where I live in Canada. The little details, characters & logos on the coins are super neat, even if it's just a coin that I couldn't use for anything if I tried.
Yeah, I got the Mario “slightly orange” switch. It was disappointing compared to the pop red of my ds lite 25th anniversary edition which I really enjoy. I feel Nintendo have lost their magic touch.
Unfortunately I agree. It's funny because people will point to Nintendo cease and desist, switch issues, lack of support, greediness, but I personally attribute the day they lost their touch when they I saw the switch didn't have any wallpapers. It was one of my favorite things from the 3DS. When my cousin couldn't get any, I knew something was really wrong. And yeah my opinion was right and hasn't changed. The creativity was stolen from you. Something so small, so simple, Nintendo couldn't even do that.
I can't wait for a Nintendo Switch bundle that comes with a code that allows me to download one of 3 games and those games being Fire Emblem Overmilked Houses, Xenoblade More and Link's Awakening remake... and I'd probably go with the Remake of the GB Zelda game...
0:29 lmao funny he says that because that I actually had this exact ds when I was younger but I left in my parents car on a seat, and someone broke into the car and stole my ds, along with nsmb which was in the ds
I honestly really like this especially if you are getting it for someone else as they get to choose a starter game for themself and its the same price as a normal switch and it come with a free 80 aud game
Am I the only one who hates when game bundles include codes nowadays? Like i wanna crack into a new console and pull out a fresh new game with that "new game smell" and feel, I don't want to set up an account, login to the eStore, and enter a code that I have to download a game from. Not the same at all. Also the Odyssey bundle was infinitely better than this: better box design, a carrying case with a cool design, and it still has the same red as this
“I have no idea why you’d want a Mario-themed console if you’ve never played a Mario game before” *every 6-year-old in the world begins laughing maniacally*
It's got everything you need for a fun-filled night in: your favorite Mario games, a cozy blanket, and no judgment when you eat an entire pizza by yourself
3D world would definetly be the best choice for this bundle, for the cat mario alone to go alone with the movie theme, you missed an opportunity there Nintendo
I think I remember getting a switch lite bundle for a family member that had Mario 3d all stars and Mario kart. That’s probably the best bundle in terms of having something to play right off the bat, though obviously it isn’t available anymore. It was more of a switch lite plus some games that you could get from the my Nintendo store
They should've done something with Mario Maker 2 and a contest to remake scenes from the movie... or at the very least a new tag in the game to find levels for.
decided to look at the uk nintendo store and saw that they had a switch with the same design, same box, same mario movie stickers, but instead of "choose one" it just comes with super mario odyssey
I love how it's just red joycons as he said it's the same as the Super Mario Odyssey bundle system they sold back in the day I have that one as well hahah, literally just red joycons, not even a custom back plate like the animal crossing versions
Nintendo really needs to step up and do something actually cool again because what they have been presenting recently was just blobs of nothing. This is literally something as worth as anything you can find at a discount in any store.
I think the stickers are there as a replacement for putting pictures on the console or dock, so you get to choose the Mario decals that go on it just like you choose the game.
Bought a mario day switch to replace my launch switch last week. That other mario switch you showed at the beginning looks alot better but im still happy with it
Nintendo should have given you all 3 games. They’re all ancient by this point. Quite frankly all three of those should be Nintendo Selects at $19.99 each.
