 yeah looking at it, if noise music didn't exist industrial and rock are the closest to it. Noise is a common element for both. Industrial took influences from various avant garde influences and made them extreme and dark . Early Industrial like throbbing gristle have full on noise tracks as well. Industrial tends to use noise to create weird and eerie sounds focusing on soundscapes. Distortion and noise is a basic element for rock music as well (espescially its harder styles like metal and punk) and the more extreme and heavy it gets the noisier it gets. Rock tends to use these elements in a more straight forward/in your face manner. Japanoise bands like merzbow really have that rock n roll philosophy and try to assault you with as much distortion ,loudness and feedback possible. Noise is the logical conclusion of both genres. I’d rank in orders of closeness and contribution too the genre 1. Rock 2. Industrial 3. Electronic 4. Other avant garde

Superb selection. I added 95% of it to my two noise music files. The fact that gorenoise even exists makes me think that hanging around to see what comes out of the people who think that gorenoise is getting stale...is a really good idea.

This was delightful. I do think the absence of John Duncan way near the bottom was something of a missed opportunity-although even Duncan himself finds *that* conversation an upsetting one-but regardless, I think that this was an extremely strong list. Good catches on the Niku Daruma split, Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil and Asshole/Snail Dilemma in particular. Personally, for historical and/or preference reasons depending, I think I would have had the following as well: SPK's Information Overload Unit or Leichenschrei, Throbbing Gristle's Second Annual Report, Maurizio Bianchi's Mectpyo Blut, Sutcliffe Jügend's The Hunger, Controlled Bleeding's Knees & Bones, The Haters' In the Shade of Fire, Incapacitants' Repo, The New Blockaders' Changez Les Blockeurs, the Hentaitenno/What A Smell split cassette, Nord's Electronic Initiation, Bull of Heaven's 109: Boxes of Scorpions Released by Tripwire, Richard Ramirez' Memorial, Keiji Haino's Ama no Gawa, Wolf Eyes' Human Animal, Diamanda Galás' The Divine Punishment, the (A)Sex/RDCD split record, Junko's The Void, maybe a few edge cases like Current 93's Dogs Blood Rising or Supersilent's 1-3… I don't know where you would place any of those, though, although I would have to believe Hentaitenno, RDCD and The New Blockaders would be a lot lower than TG or even The Haters. P.S. It's worth noting that given everything I've heard about Mike Dando of Con-Dom, he's quite far from being a bigot himself, but more created the project to try to understand how people with extreme and repulsive ideas think and how those ideas, well, control people. You'll notice how as the releases go on he became less and less interested in pure shock content and focused more on structural violence, as on albums like The Beautiful. How Welcome… is definitely his most personal, however.
@Alpha27music
@Alpha27music 3 года назад
Thank you for taking the time to make this comment. I actually haven't heard any John Duncan works so far, I must check him out. I'm aware of many of the albums you mentioned, however I personally feel that some of them don't really fit with the noise criteria. But still there are releases that I should check out. I'm aware that Mike Dando might not be a bigot himeself, it's just easy to see with some of his early works why people will come up with that conclusion.
@ConvincingPeople
@ConvincingPeople 3 года назад
@@Alpha27music Thanks! ^w^ Duncan's stuff is really spooky. Very minimal and low-key for the most part, but otherworldly and disturbing both sonically and conceptually. Incidentally, it's interesting how a lot of horrifying and innovative noise comes from conceptual and performance artists; the folks from the Schimpfluch-Gruppe like Rudolf Eb.er and Dave Phillips also come to mind, among many others. Yeah, I can understand how some of those fall outside the strict noise purview. The Hunger is a good example. I'd say it definitely participates in the same conversation given SJ's history and importance to the scene, but it's hard to categorise and has only a few really noisy cuts. An album where they were still more solidly anchored in power electronics like With Extreme Prejudice or something much earlier such as the infamous We Spit On Their Graves would probably make more sense… but I couldn't help but shout it out. It's one of my favourite albums of all time, and first listening to it was maybe the most emotional I've ever gotten listening to extreme experimental music. As for Mike Dando, yeah, his early stuff has *definitely* given a lot of people the wrong impression, and entirely understandably so. Con-Dom is definitely one of those acts which requires a lot of disclaimers which make it very difficult to recommend to those of us who have not indeed Seen Some Shit.

One that I have found is Red Light (13) - Red Light from the label Institute of Paraphilia Studies. I got the cassette a while back and it is one of the few noise albums I have found that interests me. It is quite brutal, harsh noise mixed with someone reading out horrific crimes that have taken place. So glad I accidentally bought it, but I'll have to give these you have shown a try! I have always found noise interesting, however few things within the genre hold my interest. However when they do it can be quite a unique and memorable experience I must admit!

Nice iceberg, I would like to recommend a little Russian noise. Firstly, it is one of the pioneers - Alexander Lebedev-Frontov, ALF, packer 1. He began his experiments in 78, but the earliest surviving albums were recorded in 1985. His most famous projects are: "Linija mass" - a more industrial project, texts are different words operators, long loops are used. " Vetrophonia" is a joint project with other noisy artist Nick Soudnick, more abstract, less noisy (recording of a joint performance is available on my channel). Also interesting are the projects 91, "Пила - Гипнотическая фаза" / "Drink - Hypnotic phase" and "Dead hippies". The first - avant-garde, no wave album, the second mixture of punk, industrial and metal. Also he was an artist (see there), many compare him to Giger, but if you understand in their paintings there are many differences and did, I don’t know what to call it, drawing over frames, you can see his works on the channel Ultrasomnambula U ( where there are more subscribers)

There's one level even deeper than "How the f did I end up here?", namely STALAGGH.
@Alpha27music
@Alpha27music Год назад
Stallagh is at tier 4 or 5 for me due to their popularity in certain underground scenes.

Ok but... I literally can't find some of these anywhere so it seems I'll never experience them.

I us3d to listen to a lot of power electronics and industrial noise but stopped because I realized it was a method of coping and distracting myself. Never the less I'm a little disappointed you didn't include any of the following artists: Ambient: Anenzephalia, Megaptera, Puce Marry or Graham Bowers Industrial: Sabes (rat album), iminent starvation, mono no aware, operant or sonar Pure harshnoise: Deathpile

Puce Mary would have made it into the introduction tier, Anenzephalia would probably be at second tier. Operant is more of like an industrial techno project to fit in here. Deathpile's GR woul probably make it in the 3rd tier. A classic in the scene, but not for like a first introduction.

I would have put Damien Dubrovnik in Intellectual, Koufar in man of culture and Black Leather Jesus in outcast in my personal opinion :) I knew Merz and Prurient was gonna be in casual haha.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a The Erogē Fanatic, Mama Bär/Rudolf Eb.er stream specific to the ones listed to check them out. If there's any others unavailable I'll let you know but I started this a while ago in whats now left is a ongoing horizontal line of tabs I choose one at random. For me if you don't remember anything in music, not even the album art theme to an extent (which is something I see vastly undervalued in this an many other media eg card games, films etc), even with having doubt in taste in order to retry it is not a good thing.

My only way of finding the Mama Bar/Rudolf Eb.er split is through soulseek. The Eroge Fanatic I beleive can be found through the Tsundere Violence webpage.

@@Alpha27music Thank you. I'll be in touch in case it doesn't show up. You probably deserve dooin an introduction or your history of noise/ experimental series. [EDIT] no luck from what I could see.

While I get it would mess up for the search engine and algorithms, it's certainly a missed opportunity to not call this video "The Noiceberg"

no ramleh tho?

Ramleh albums would go somewhere around 2nd and 3rd tier. Pretty decent for somewhat entry level noise.
