They call "The Nun" the darkest chapter because you can't see anything.

"Nunchucks" - Movie about a nun that kills guys called Chuck. "Nun too Bright" - Movie about a nun who is discovered as a math genius. "Second to Nun" - Movie about a girl who is always been outshined by her sister who is a nun. "Nun the Wiser" - Sequel to Nun Too Bright "Then There Were Nun" - Murder mystery about someone killing off Sisters in a convent. "Nymphomaniac Nuns" - Oops, how did that one get in here.

The Tagline of The Nun was literally, “Witness the darkest chapter in The Conjuring universe.” Judging by this video, they weren't wrong.

Part of me wishes there was a movie called “Nun of your Business.”

The thing is, there have been a lot of very real, very twisted nuns throughout history. It wouldn't have been hard to look into history to find a much more compelling story than all the hogwash they made to piggyback off the already lame "Conjuring" series nun flick.

Despite the flaws, I liked the soundtrack of the Nun. Also, I could kinda understand why the demon didn't kill Frenchie because technically, if they killed Frenchie, the video tape from the Warrens would not make sense anymore to exist (the tape that showed Valak possessing Frenchie). Using Frenchie, the demon was able to leave the place of the nuns and get to more victims outside it (their cameo in the Annabelle series and Conjuring 2). :/ It kinda makes sense to me, even if others won't agree.

I love the writer telling on himself through the random dude’s texts in The Bad Nun. Like you can almost hear him going “Okay, what would convince a woman to drive over to a complete stranger’s house for a hookup? Oh, I know! I laughted at loud when she spat the blood. Her eyes were so round it looked like a fish. I also laughted at loud when the boot fell down in anabelle 2, it reminded me to a looney toones episode after some acme explosion. As you guess, i am no longer welcome to see scary movies with my friends nor relatives since i was alone laughing in the theater.

I love it how you could count off before the jumpscares in this movie. Like I was deadass bored at the CLIMAX of this movie. At the end the scares I swear to god came with like a beat like "1, 2, 3, Jumpscare" so boring. :D

There is movie from the early 2000(if I remember correctly) called The nun, directed by Brian Yuzna, the guy involved in the Reanimator movies and Necronomicon to name a few, that had a mix between serial killer and supernatural monster for a script. It was quite good. You might check that out

In all honesty, I feel like with at least one of those movies where someone dies that the main character gets framed or suspected for murder.

I read The Demonologist, the book by Ed and Lorraine Warren that the Conjuring series is based on. According to them (from what I remember) demons and evil spirits want to drain you of your spirit, not necessarily kill you. They do this by taunting you and scaring you, and essentially feed off of your fear. So the "has the opportunity to kill but stupidly doesn't" trope makes tons more sense (and both Wan and the actors read the book, this director probably didn't), only...you have to actually present it as such for it to work. This is why I'm personally fine with scenes like the one where the girl could have drowned in the tub. If you see it as the demon wanting to feed on her terror, it makes so much sense. I doubt it was the case though.

Actually, an evil storage facility could make for a fun movie idea. Not that it stores evil, but that the facility itself is evil. I've been in storage facilities. They're unnerving. A film with someone getting lost in one lends to the potential for multiple scenarios as they encounter different lockers. Perhaps the contents of each locker are twisted into deadly devices to torment whoever gets lost in its halls. Honestly, if you got some engineers, artists, and a safety inspector together, they could come up with some pretty gnarly scenarios for that film. I'd watch it.

I remember going to Guatemala to see my cousins and aunt and other family so my mom feels less ya know, down, and we decided to stay at one of my aunts hotels (yeah she owns the hotel) and one time late at night one of my cousins was watching this Spanish version of The Nun (it’s a different Nun movie) and in one scene this girl in school was being raised up in the air by the nun who I think was pretending to be a teacher, the nun raised her up in the air, put the love letter in the girls mouth and the nun was making her start to bleed out her eyes and mouth, and you could hear hard choking sounds, it was terrifying to watch

I can't stand horror films that overuse jumpscares, whether it's a visual jumpscare or a auditory jumpscare. I mean, sure, maybe one or two is fine... but they should be more focused on creating psychological horror. But that's just my opinion. These days horror movies completely depend on jumpscares which is why I don't watch most of them.

The reason the pre-nun found him after he was buried alive is because the grave had a little bell attached to a string that went into the coffin. They were pretty common for the era that the movie takes place in, but it does not make sense that the nun would just install it as she buried him.

The sad thing about this movie was that it started out well and the initial place was very creepy but the second half of the movie was a train wreck. One thing about modern Horror movies is that they go over-the-top with the crazy paranormal stuff in the second half of the movie which ruins the mood, suspense, and feel of the story. The movie definitely had a dark, brooding, setting with a cast that felt fairly isolated but then they revealed everything too early, went over the top with the stupid exorcism and trapping her story that made no sense, and just flooded the movie with jump scares.
