That’s a cool looking retro looking airplane! Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It’s great to see you guys back again, and helping to keep Glow flight alive! 🇨🇦 always exciting when one of your videos comes out.
Matt, the nose work on your model looks so much better. It is the way I built my Polestar just like Bill’s. Shamelessly, nearly the same graphics. It was fast with my HB 61 pdp engine.
Thanks for the independent review of our new Polaris kit. Great to see an un-biased video! Looking forward to seeing it in the air. Oh, and perfect choice for the power plant! Well done!
Nice looking aircraft. Reminds me of an old Air Force prototype. When you do take it out for a fly, could you demonstrate how slow it can go. We already know that .60 is going to scream. Lol
Great looking plane guys! Wow start to finish build in less than 3 days!!! You have to post a video of some of your build process , you guys are machines. Marty , did you say 14lbs of thrust ??? How do you figure the thrust? I have a blue (light blue) head 60 that I haven't ran yet , maybe I'll put it on the stand.
First off my apologies, I was looking at the static thrust figures from my G90 that is 14.6 pounds. the numbers on the G60 blue head is actually 7.8 pounds measured by putting a strap around the plane hooked to a digital scale I do three pulls on pavement and average them it’s a crude way of doing it but it actually shows the weight it is capable of pulling. As far as the ST 60 blue head there were many variations of that engine year to year . 77-79 were the most powerful they were all good though, for optimum performance and reliability use O.S. Type F plug thanks for the comment
I love the covering job. I was wondering what covering did you use? I like working with Monokote but it is no longer available and have not found anything that even comes close. I have a Desperado 60 it is fun but small and fast, mine is built from the plans with foam wing and heavy fuse. Great job!!!!!!
It was covered with both Monokote and ultracoat fortunately our local hobby shop still has Monokote and tells us it is still very much available from horizon hobby. We also had a despardo 60 recently sold it at a swap meet , thanks much for the comment and keep on flying
Basically it was done in the same manner as Bill Evans was if you look at the plan on outerzone for his polestar. The wing on the bottom is solid white thanks for the comment
