Makes you wonder if he was a produced of his environment and was nurtured to be who he was or if it was always in his nature to have that 'survivor' mindset Maybe a bit of both
He talks down on his brother a lot but I feel he loves him since he never killed him and knows enough about him to know how he’s living even after they’re older and are far apart.
Throughout the game it hints at micahs desire for family; this campfire dialogue, him trying to reconnect with his brother, when arthur breaks him out "you and me...sons of dutch..makes us brothers" theres also a drunk conversation with javier where micah admits he finds the gangs innocence to be endearing and it gives him a warm feeling. Truly i think Arthur and John wouldve ended up like Micah had they not been found by Dutch and Hosea, like Micah their birth fathers were scumbag criminals and hinted at perhaps being abusive. Dutch and Hosea are criminals of course but atleast in the beginning they had a code they stood for something and took in two lost angry young boys taught them how to read and gave them a dream worth living for.
I think RDR2 would have been much more compelling if Micah was just a red herring and actually sided with Arthur at the end against whoever really was a traitor.
Bill would've made more sense (like Micah is a crazy Dutch suck-up not even Bill can compete) and would explain why he already has his own gang by the events of 1, he wanted the Van Der Lindes gone.
what kind of a man lives by the sea i ask you? first of all Micah be directed to persons tale of his time in the navy! but in all seriousness this is the only sympathy he's worthy of reading his letter his brother sent back to him gave me a chill and I wasn't the true receiver 😮
It shows the opposite. His brother didn’t turn out like he did, and they grew up in the same environment. Micah chose the gang life and his brother settled down with a wife by the sea.
I kinda wish Micah was a more tragic villain. I mean. Yeah he has some tragic elements like this story, being a product of his environment but i wish there was more character interaction overall in this game, if this game took a mass effect or baldurs gate approach where your actions help define you and change those around you, it wouldve been satisfying to see a different side of the story. Either way the base game story is excellent and micah being the primary antagonist if very fitting it does feel good putting him down.
Not gonna lie, I actually like Micah. For all of his flaws, he is very honest about who he is as a person (a survivor and an outlaw) while the rest of the gang tells themselves they are something else. Something more noble. Add the fact that it’s very obvious that he is the creation of a long, long line of abuse and I don’t think he ever had any chance. This doesn’t in any way, shape or form excuse what he does but it does help explain a little about how he came to be and why he does what he does.
"what kind of man lives by the sea" ...Most of mankind for nearly all of recorded civilization. Food, transportation, security, and shockingly _water._
I think Micah actually missed Amos and was devastated when he told Micah to not contact him and that he would kill him if he got too close. Otherwise, why try to contact him at all after so long, and why this reaction that seems more hurt for rejection than mocking cowardice?
Well I wouldn't Live by the Sea even if I Loved it there but what's the story here brother I still Hate the Basturd I could imagine them Callander Brothers has more drip then him
