Totally agree with the above comment, I buy lots of pre loved and charity shop clothing. I get so many comments on my dress sense. I wear classic simple out fits , no flash colours or emblems, no company logo’s. Just classic well kept pieces.

Why not experiment with other neutrals that are more flattering for your specific skin tone? Go to a store and whole different things up in the mirror and you will notice certain things really brighten you up and other things drag you down and look drab. I think the principal she’s teaching us Are great, and we have to adjust, but we are learning to our own personal characteristics. There are a lot of neutral colors that I bet we look beautiful on you.

I'm not sure what a Soft Dramatic entails but my colouring is what you'd call a 'warm / light spring' so saturated colours tend to work best for me. As you say, it's much more tricky to pair bright saturated colours in chic, multiple ways, like you can with neutrals. I've managed to do it by slowly curating a wardrobe of warm neutrals with yellow rather than blue tints as my 'base' e.g. warm camels, caramel, chocolate brown, creamy whites, olive and saturated navy blue jeans. Either I can wear these together with a 'pop' of vibrancy in the form of an accessory like a hat, scarf, shoe or lipstick (usually neutral colour 1 + neutral colour 2 + pop of colour so it's cohesive), or pair them with saturated colours e.g. a cornflower blue blouse and navy jeans with a tan belt + boots, a coral pink dress with neutral heels + camel coat. As I'm building my wardrobe further I've started to monochrome outfits e.g. vibrant green sweater over pastel green jeans and a forest green coat - paired with neutral shoes and belt. Essentially you need to build up the basics in warm neutrals first, start adding in the pops of colour to switch in and then once you have that down, go for more colourful pieces to monochrome together tied together with the neutrals. Hope that helps.
