You have helped make my dream of making a blanket come true! I cant express how excited I am. I've made 20 squared over the last 2 days! I cant stop! THANK YOU!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have watched a million videos and none are truly "beginner." I was able to understand and really SEE what I'm supposed to do.
This is my favorite granny square version & tutorial. Easy and not too "holey". The base circle is a chain 5. Each round starts with a chain 3. Corners are made with "chain 2" stitches. No "chain 1" connector is used on any of the sides. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the tutorial. I have finally accomplished some granny squares. It only took me decades. LOL. I can not believe I struggled so hard all these years. Thank goodness for You Tube. Written instructions for me was like learning a different language .
My grandmother taught me how to do granny squares, but not how to start or finish one. Since she passed away I learned how to start & end square by your tutorial. Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant tutorial. Slow, clear and no off-putting back music either. Well done! It has reminded and retaught me how to do the crocheted granny square again. So pleased. Thank you.
Hello I have to say this is the Best leaning video for anyone who wants to learn to Crochet or o refresh there memory. I have Crocheted over 40 years. I also teach. I like to watch these videos to see how well the person is instructing and to watch there technique. The best to you and Thank you. God Bless
I’ve watched SO many RU-vid videos and tutorial in general on how to make a simple granny square. This one is the only one that actually helped me learn and explain things instead of skipping little details. Truly a beginners tutorial. Excellency! And with your tutorial on making a border and stitching the squares together is all I need to make my very first blanket. Thanks!!!
Thank You! 😊😊 I've been crocheting for years but have Never been able to make a "straight" Granny Square. It's Always tilted from the center when completed. It was very obvious the larger the blanket got and especially when I changed colors. You have taught this old 🐦 a new trick!! Thank you AGAIN❣️ 😘💕
This is one of the best tutorials I’ve been able to find. Always had to ask my mum’s friend to start me off as I couldn’t get the hang of starting a granny square but I’ve finally been able to watch this and do it myself. Brilliant. Thank you so much
Had learnt to knit as a kid but never got the hang of crochet and always wanted to be able to. Been trying unsuccessfully this past few weeks to learn, sat tonight and tried again with your help, 3 granny squares later..... *cheer* am literally hooked, am overjoyed, thank you
Thank you so much. I started crochet about a week ago and I have now made a granny square that actually resembles a square - not at all bad for a first effort. Thank you so much for your clear, easy to follow instructions. Will definitely be following more of your videos.
The best tutorial ever. I managed to make a blanket. I've been trying to learn this for weeks. I have the slightest idea why i wanted to learn. But im excited that i learned. I foresee a bunch of projects. Thanks a bunch
Lovely video and was easy to understand. Yahoo!!! Finally I made a granny square with your patient teaching. Thank you, Looking forward to do more from your videos.
10k of your views our mine. Lol. I had never tried crotchet before. Wanting to make a Clemson paw blanket for my husband using granny squares, I watched your video so I could learn. It took me forever to figure everything out, get comfortable with the needle, and understand the stitches, but today I finally made one that actually looks like a square. So thank you! I was actually able to follow you and see what I was suppose to do. My only advice for future learners is to include a written pattern in the description. I had to write it all down so I could stop pausing and rewinding. Thank you!!
May I say this is the very best tutorial that I have seen it takes me quite a while too learn how to do things like this because some of the Medication I have for My depression takes quite a while for me too take it in but with your help so far I have done two rounds which for Me is Fantastic So thank you so very much indeed I have also Subscribed (smiles)
Hi Janet, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I'm really pleased that you were able to follow along... Well done for completing your first 2 rounds!

@@BlossomCrochet 😁🎺🎺🎺Thank you! I used your video to finish a baby blanket with a beautiful border and gave it to the 1yo baby yesterday for her 1st birthday. She loves it! I need more yarn and will continue to watch videos to learn more! Thank you for sharing and I will continue to post on my progress!🎺😁🧶🌷
Thank you SO VERY MUCH for your video!! I tried a few times to follow along and mess up somewhere, get frustrated put it down, try again, mess something up get frustrated, put it down, try again. But on like the 3rd or 4th try I went back just a little and would watch a section over a couple of times and was successful!! You really are great at these videos! Love the terminology too if it being a treble crochet... I have found myself calling it that now! 😁Thank you again!! 💕
You could not have made it any more simple! Thank you! LOL I am a crafty person and thought it time to finally learn to crochet...love knitting, quilting, cross-stitch, I even made handmade porcelain dolls....now it's crochet time! I've subscribed to your channel!
Thank you so much for this video. I followed it and I am looking a a granny square thanks to you. It was easy to follow. Thanks again. I'm going to have to watch again until I get it down pat but i will thanks to you.
I am so glad I found your channel, you are amazing and explain everything so clearly. I have always been a knitter but since the lockdown (march23rd 2020) I was looking for something else to learn, I have now managed to make lots and lots of granny squares and finished my first little blanket with scalloped edging with thanks to you. Thank you so much blossom :) x
Thank you so much for this video! After watching numerous videos and online instructions and even in my crochet book for beginners, I could not for the life of me, get one of these granny squares to work, and I was about to give up trying! After watching your video once, and then crocheting along with you, I have finished my first square in one go!! Thank you again =)
Thank you so much for uploading a video that's easy to follow! I was introduced to crocheting earlier this year and couldn't get my head around how to get the square, mine always turned into granny snowflakes or granny circles! With your video its easy to follow, you have a gentle voice and you talk slowly throughout the whole video. Finally I have a finished square that's ACTUALLY square!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for all the tutorials that you do, I have finally learnt how to do some basic crocheting after so many years of wanting to learn how to do it. I have now developed a crochet addiction 😂 many thanks xx
Hello Rebekah, this is just perfect for someone who just picked up a crochet hook yesterday. Thank you so much for your clear explanation. When I know ‘why’ I’m doing the chaining and get the rhythm, it’s going to be achievable. Thank you again. Kind regards, Dianne x
Thank you so much! Took me a second try (I have no idea what I did but it was very wonky first time) and now I have a granny square! :D Time to make some more! :D
A fantastic video for absolute beginners. Such a patient lady, thank you for your video. I’ve recently completed my very first granny square blanket courtesy of your tuition. Many thanks.
hey thank you so much for the video. your instructions were clear, precise and you did it step by step and you were doing it slow for beginners like me.please do not think that you might be too pedantic because it works for people like me. I'm motivated by the fact that I can actually crochet after following your video. Thank you again.
Thank you so much I started to watch you how to videos 2 days ago , so easy to follow and after some attempts with others had so much success with yours.
Finally made my first granny square and I can already see where I have made some mistakes, there are too many stitches in one end compared to the other, so its small on one side and flared out on the bottom. With more practice I will get better. Thank you so much for your tutorial, I am quite pleased with myself and my effort. You spoke clearly and calmly and thank you for not rushing through it :)
Hi Rachel, well done for completing your first square! It may not be perfect, but my first ones weren't either! Just keep practicing and you'll be whizzing through them in no time :)
I really liked no distracting background music and the clear cut demonstration. I was taught to turn my work after each round to keep my square, but hers did not look distorted so🤷🏽♀️- anyway I liked her no-frills easy to understand tutorial
Still having some trouble. Got stressed, ripped it apart and had a snack. But I got a LOT farther than I have with other tutorials. didn't have to stop every 5 seconds! :D You're super helpful! About to have another crack at it!
Thank you so much for your fabulous tutorial. Am very new to crochet. Your tutorial helped me pick this up very easily. Am finding crochet very addictive and theraputic ;o)
I have finally learnt and mastered granny squares thanks to this tutorial. ❤️ Thank you so much for teaching at a slow pace step by step, it really helped me more than any tutorial. Subscribed, can't wait to see more! --Kelly
Thank you for the easy tutorial. I wrote everything down to make sure I have the correct instructions. If I want to increase the Granny Square, do I double crochet/treble crochet each chain space, along with the corners?
thank you for the easy to follow instructions, i have now made multiple granny squares, so i was wondering what you would recommend i crochet next? thank you!
Thank you sooo much. I have been looking for videos on how to make granny squares for weeks now and I finally found one that actually gets me somewhere and I think with a little more practice I will get better so thank you! (By the way you earned a new subscriber!!)
Love this tutorial I'm really new to all this so prob a silly question but when you say insert into the stick of the chain three do I go into the circle (stich) or under it? Xx
When I slip stich into the top chain to join each round I end up with the chain being pulled awkwardly into the space. It happens in each row so that one side of my granny square looks awful. What am I doing wrong?
Do you have any hints to help me control my tension. I have squares that end up being bigger and some smaller with the same amount of turns. Makes it difficult to join them together to form the blanket.
Yes, thank you, I finally "get it." Thank you for such a lovely tutorial. Beautiful channel and I cannot wait to do more of your projects. You have a very calm teaching style, which I really appreciate. Again, thank you so much. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to working further with your great help. Toni
Thank you so much for this tutorial, your voice is so calm and relaxed an absolute pleasure to listen too..One question. How do you join a new color , i would like to crochet this pattern for a blanket..🙂🙂
This is a great tutorial. I am just learning crochet and was wondering, is it always in the middle of the side of granny square that I start my row and finish the square please. Many thanks
