The Philadelphia Phillies Failed 

The Mets have been playing pressure packed games for weeks and showed more poise and fire. I never felt comfortable once in this series against the Mets. We were 2-6 vs. the Mets in the last 3 weeks. The Mets are simply a better team-- maybe not better players top to bottom- but they are a better team.

Nobody is saying it, the Mets are a better team.

It was disappointing but last year was definitely worse. This was just part 2. They made next to no changes to a team that had a bad playoff meltdown once already. Forget the regular season record this year. They played .500 ball from the ASG on. They were the same team they've always been which is very exciting at times but each season since 2022 has produced diminishing returns. I'm not saying tear it all down but they need more of a shakeup than adding players like Whit Merrifield or trading for Austin Hays.

The mets were the better team the 2nd half.not sure why phllies fans cant admit it.

Gotta be honest, Dudes. I started getting mildly concerned in JULY after the All-Star break.

Mets are battle tested and dont fold when things get tough like this Phils do. Everything changed after the Oakland series right before the all star break. Whatever the phillies had going the first half was long gone by the time they got to the post season.

The Mets were the BETTER team. What were you philly people watching for the last 3 months???? The Mets were basically the best team in the game for the 2nd half of the season....and at that same time the phills were a .500 team. MOST people who make a living making predictions picked the Mets to win this series. This wasnt surprising to anyone who doesnt root for the Phills.

Mets..with a bunch of no names just made the Phils with a bunch big names look like little boys in Little League.

The way they played after the All Star break, especially in Sept. You could see this coming.

When Stafford came I started following. Wertz I was on board. I was ecstatic about Harper and idoled him for years. When they were the best team in baseball ll7 wins, I think 76. In the playoffs he struck out with men on base that would have won the game and sent them to the WS ending the games. Next year exactly the same deal. Quite put off The next year he bombed going at 240 and end of season climbed up to 260 He was a jerk all year. Then, I remembered his Playoff strike outs the year before. I followed box scores religiously and found that he left men on base unbelievably. If the score is 7 to 3 and he is up, he knocks the runs in. So I looked up the records, and since he is the poster boy MLB lied about his LOB percentage by more than 50% So am not a fan. The reverse. I don't watch baseball but for a few innings if I see on my phone he is coming up and watch him usually strike out. I saw him clearly leave a guy on base one game. Not in the box score the next day. He is not the face of baseball. Why are your writers calling for him to be MVP when Ohtani is having a historic year. It sucks. The Phillies booth and Philly writers talked up the other year and he got is for no reason other than that. That sucks. Harper just made All Star catch at first base that I just saw on TV. Vunderbar and amazing. So now hit. So overrated, but MLB has him as one of the faces of baseball. Get real.

A lot of blame to go around? Mets starters were just as good, Met hitters solid 1-9, Phillies top loaded, Mets bullpen better…….Mets best team in baseball since 6/1….next year Braves and Mets will be better than the Phils.

Who cares how team do at the begging. First Turner should be the first at bat, he is fast and know how to get in base, then a slugger can make 2 run homer. The line up of Philly was badly assamble.

Mets had 5 times bases loaded with 0 outs and they fail to score. Lindor was the only one to connect a Homer. Mets play awful. If wasn't for Lindor, the game was over.
